00:00Unsurprisingly, former President Rodrigo Duterte opted to ditch the House Quad Committee invitation

00:06to attend its 10th hearing yesterday for apparent reasons.

00:09Still, it was a lengthy session that dragged on to the wee hours to the next morning and

00:15featured the panel's endorsement of a task force appointed by the DOJ to formally probe

00:20the illegal drugs war and the thousands of extrajudicial killings in the previous administration.

00:26Our Melanies Moras has more.

00:31The House Quad Committee fully supports the task force established by the Department of

00:36Justice to probe the alleged extrajudicial killings during former President Rodrigo Duterte's

00:41administration.

00:42According to Quadcom Lead Chair Robert Ace Barbers, they have already met with the task

00:47force and they vowed to provide all possible support in the name of truth and justice.

00:53All of their needs in the build-up of the case, up to the preliminary investigation

01:04of the witnesses, they can do that through the Quadcom and we will actually give them

01:10full access here because that is what is right.

01:15At the 10th hearing of the Quad Committee yesterday, which lasted until early morning

01:20The relatives of alleged EJK victims were among those who appeared before the panel.

01:25To this day, they remain emotional when discussing their loved ones who they say were killed

01:30without a fight.

01:49Issues related to illegal drugs were also scrutinized and businesswoman Rose Nonolin,

02:07the wife of alleged drug lord Alan Lim, appeared for the first time.

02:11During the interpolation, however, several congressmen criticized Lin as she often could

02:15not answer questions about her husband.

02:35All these issues are being linked to former President Duterte, but he did not attend the

02:39hearing again to explain his side.

02:41In an interview, Duterte even criticized the Quad Committee, saying they were making

02:45all sorts of accusations against him.

02:48But the Quad Committee is determined to invite his camp again, even if just his lawyer.

03:10Meanwhile in a statement, House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed that former

03:15PCSO General Manager Royina Garma and former NAPOCOM Commissioner Edilberto Leonardo have

03:20already been released from the custodial center of the lower house.
