00:55you before about mac any uh any communication with him this
01:00week about that that you know a uh go get text or anything from you
01:05uh no i i'm this is actually the first time i'm hearing about it so i'm
01:09actually excited for him and i wish him nothing but the best so
01:13hopefully he just you know gets back to being who he is and and
01:16takes full advantage of this opportunity
01:19jelani you guys had a great opportunity to win
01:22down in tennessee uh but in overtime uh you guys struggled a little bit
01:28against the run what do you think it has been
01:32some of the issues that it seems like uh teams have been able to run the football
01:37on on you guys versus last year where you were
01:40pretty good against them run what are things that you're doing
01:43wrong this year that's allowing to some of the teams have
01:46success against you guys against the run
01:50i mean i don't want to sound like a broken record but i mean
01:53the biggest thing is doing our jobs um it takes it takes all 11 of us
01:58to to be successful on the defensive side so
02:01or it's missed how it goes whether it's uh misalignments or something
02:06um it's the little things that are biting us in the butt so
02:10um we've been we've been really focusing on just making sure that
02:15you know we get back to our basics and and rely on our fundamentals
02:20jelani what will be the most difficult point our part about uh defending
02:23against kayla williams
02:27um i mean extended plays you know he's uh he's shown on film that
02:34he let him run around and and become a magician he's gonna
02:37he's gonna do something crazy and and we definitely don't want to be
02:41one of his highlights so our biggest thing is to keep him in the pocket and
02:45and just to play complimentary football jelani uh great final drive by drake
02:52main the end of regulation on sunday against
02:54the titans was there any part of you that was hoping the offense would have
02:57gone for two there um you know the we're on to a new week
03:03it was it was a great play by drake and um you know the decision wasn't uh it
03:09was a team decision and you know it is what it is so right now
03:13we're gonna we're already focused on the bears
03:16and uh we're gonna do our best to not put ourselves in that situation where we
03:20have to go to overtime you know so um we're we're dialing in
03:24on our fundamentals like i just said and
03:27uh we're just gonna make sure we do our jobs
03:30you've you've been in the league a long time we this is by the way this is

03:49been in this league a long time we we had an opportunity to talk to billy
03:53o'brien who was there with you guys last year i've seen
03:56you know football for a while i've been in the locker room
03:59when a team's two and seven how do you not get caught up in especially
04:06the younger guys just kind of giving up on the season and
04:10start to look towards the end of the season how do you make sure that doesn't
04:13happen in the locker room this year
04:18oh well the biggest thing is if you want to be in the league very long you know
04:21that's that's the thing you have to ask yourself
04:23um if you're gonna go out there practice or in the game and
04:27and just bs you know you're putting bad thumb out there that's one thing so
04:31that's the that's the quickest way to get out of the league
04:34so going back to what i've been relaying or you know saying is
04:38doing our jobs you know you don't i mean nobody should be satisfied with two and
04:43seven or whatever the record is um you know so
04:46each and every week you got to approach it as as if it's week one
04:50you know um you have to have you have to have that mindset where
04:54you know your job's on the line and you know uh
04:57unfortunately all our jobs are on the line so um
05:01you know you just got to have that in the back of your mind knowing that
05:04if you uh if you do take those days off and you know you're upset about the
05:09record and then you change your way of playing you know
05:12you're going to cost yourself devon gotcha referred to drake may
05:18as josh allen 2.0 last week you agree with that or do you have a
05:23better cop no drake may is drake drake may 1.0 i
05:28mean i don't want him i don't want a josh allen i don't want

05:37i'm happy about that jelani speaking of gotcha whether it was him or or other
05:42members of the defense there was a period where we were having
05:45some uh headlines come out of the locker room of guys saying that
05:49people were playing selfish or uh obviously
05:52gerrard's soft comment it's toned down is that just you guys all getting on the
05:57same page or or was it a mandate from gerrard to
06:01have you guys maybe keep things under wraps
06:04no we're we're no it's i feel like it's none of the above you know i think
06:09i think we're finally just ignoring the noise you know
06:12and whether it's inside the the stadium or outside
06:17you know um so i think we're just i guess you can say that we're finally
06:23on the same page but yeah it's good to see that we're all

06:31well we are on the road this morning at the american heritage museum
