00:00Muhyiddin Yassin ordered his lawyer to appeal the High Court decision

00:06which ordered him to pay a compensation of RM1.35 million to Lim Guan Eng

00:12in addition to three slanderous statements related to the issue of cancellation of tax exemptions to the Al-Bukhari Foundation.

00:18Disappointed, despite respecting the decision, the former Prime Minister said he believed

00:24the statement made to the former Finance Minister was not a slander.

00:29In addition to the amount of compensation that was exaggerated.

00:32Former Judge Rosmawa Rozit ordered Muhyiddin to pay a compensation of RM350,000

00:40for each statement, RM150,000 as a severe compensation,

00:45and an additional RM150,000 as a substantial compensation in addition to the cost of RM50,000

00:52as well as withdrawing the statement and not repeating it.

00:56On March 27 last year, Lim filed a lawsuit against Muhyiddin

01:00which was alleged to issue three slanderous statements

01:03which meant that he abused his position and power

01:07by giving power or directing the State Research Institute

01:11to impose fines and penalties on the Al-Bukhari Foundation.

01:15Lim, who is also the former head of the Minister of the Peninsula,

01:18quoted the statement as describing him as a nationalist,

01:22anti-Malay and Islam, and acting in a bad intention.
