00:00The People's Television Network and the Commission on Elections have reached an agreement to produce a program on television.

00:08We will find out more about this in the next episode of Loisa Erispe.

00:13Various agencies and branches of the government are helping each other to open the distribution of fake and false news to the public.

00:22Especially during the election, those who spread and destroy the integrity of the election are at a disadvantage.

00:29That's why your People's Television Network is now connected to the Commission on Elections

00:35in opening the fake news in the upcoming Hatol ng Bayan 2025.

00:40Today, the Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Comelec and PTV,

00:44which will form a program that will provide concrete and correct information on the election.

00:50It was signed by PTV General Manager Antonio Baltazar Tobi Nebrida Jr. and Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia.

00:59We believe that our traditional or what we call mainstream media are at a disadvantage.

01:08PTV4 is one of them because they have high ethics and profession that they need to maintain the truth.

01:20Media and news agencies, as correctly observed by Chairman George, played a crucial role in defining the issues, the characters, and the platforms of the protagonists.

01:34This is where I see your national network, People's Television Network, coming in to this current situation that we have now.

01:43If the correct information of our voters is not armed, how can we expect our voters to arrive at an intelligent decision?

01:59The program will air once a week and will last for 30 minutes.

02:04It will include three segments.

02:06First, Comelec Updates, where Comelec's projects and actions will be discussed one by one for a whole week.

02:13Insight, which will answer the questions of the people and the participation of election watchdogs, citizens arm, and other stakeholders of the election.

02:23And Filipino Knows, which will include what the people should learn every election.

02:30Voter education will also teach voters a new way to vote using new automated counting machines.

02:38But the most important part of the program is transparency for the trust of the people in a proper election in the country.

02:46According to Comelec, this program is a big help for the people to know the preparation of Comelec for the election,

02:53especially since this is the 25th election as a super election year with national and local elections,

03:00parliamentary elections, and barangay and SK elections.

03:05The commission also hopes that this will counter the lies and misinformation that is spreading every election.

03:13This is what the PTV promised that will be the aim of the program.

03:19We need to bring all the news and events to our citizens so that they will not be afraid.

03:28We will fight the fake news, we will fight the trolls, we will fight the lies that are being spread in different kinds of media.

03:36What's important is that the people trust us.

03:59The new program of PTV and Comelec is expected to air in January 2025,

04:05at the same time as the start of the election period.
