00:00Hi I'm Laura Reid the Deputy Features Editor at the Yorkshire Post and here's
00:04a look at what's coming up in the week ahead. Today is Armistice Day and as has
00:09been the case for more than a century at the 11th hour there'll be a two-minute

00:19agreement that ended the fighting of the First World War and came into play at
00:2311 a.m. on November the 11th 1918. Today is an opportunity also to pause and
00:29reflect and remember all those who have lost their lives while serving during
00:33conflict. Also kicking off today is the UN Climate Change Conference COP 29
00:39which this year is being held in Azerbaijan. There's going to be delegates
00:45from around the world coming together to focus on tackling the climate crisis.
00:50The program includes seminars and speeches on topics such as climate
00:55action, sustainability, global partnerships and finance is also said to
01:00be a key focus this year. Being more closer to home the city of Wakeford will
01:05be illuminated later this week with the return of the Light Up Festival. This
01:10year's event is part of the district's Our Year 2024 celebrations which has
01:17been a program of events and activities designed to celebrate the area. As part
01:23of the Light Up event there's going to be a trail of light installations across
01:28the city including a projection mapped onto County Hall. And finally the
01:37Thought Bubble Comic Art Festival is also returning this week which is a
01:43major meeting of the industry's creators and fans and it's taking place at venues
01:47across Yorkshire. It aims to promote the power of comics and includes
01:52exhibitions, creator talks, workshops and culminates with a comic art
01:58convention in Harrogate at the weekend. It's supporting the Children and
02:04Young People's Charity of Barnardo's.
