With the recent detection of a more infectious strain of mpox in the UK, how worried are you about the possibility of another pandemic? Would the country ever accept another lockdown?
Transcript
00:00I think with Covid, so fresh in the memory of a lot of people, and what happened in that,
00:06anything now that the P-word, pandemic, is used,
00:12and people remember it as monkeypox, M-pox, same thing, sounds scary.
00:17I just couldn't go through it, I guess. Not after the last time,
00:20where everybody's queuing up in the morning to get food.
00:23And I've got to stay at home because I've got asthma.
00:27And I've got a shield, I've had to shield and everything the last time.
00:30I don't think I could go through all that, I guess.
00:33I think the country would need a lot of persuasion to accept another lockdown,
00:38because so fresh in the memory of what Boris Johnson did,
00:44the decisions were made, the scientists, the doctors,
00:48because they had no real benchmark to go on.
00:51No, it was like, it was called for. Maybe it's like, there's not much to do about it.
00:54Even the people that put the rules down, you know what I mean?
00:57Sometimes you just have to let chef fingers get out, you know what I mean?
