00:00...individuals in Philippine politics. I don't think that is a fair assessment. We can only hope that the next President of the United States would be more supportive of policies that would benefit eventually the Philippines and the other allies of the United States.

00:22...but to be honest, it's not for us to say because the Americans did it, it's their election.

00:52...but it doesn't work that way. We appreciate American politics in a manner that they really set policies according to the demands and circumstances of the day. And we're hopeful that America will remain to be the strong ally that it has been in the years past.

01:22First of all, we would like to congratulate the American people for their election. As a democratic country, we should be happy that democracy really thrives in every part of the world. So we congratulate them for holding this election.

01:41Secondly, the U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines said that whoever wins in this election, the policy of bilateral agreements and long-established agreements between the Philippines and the United States will remain to be strong.

02:03...so it does not matter whoever sits in the Oval Office. I'm confident that with the bilateral talks that we have and the agreements that we have insofar as our military defense treaty between the Philippines and the United States is a well-established institution.

02:59Before I forget, both wars were initiated by Republican presidents. Actually, on the side of defense, stronger defense policy of Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats were the ones who instituted the withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan.

03:29...with foreign powers. I mean, of course, whoever wins the presidency. Kasi nga, sabi nga nila, when America sneezes, the whole world catches a cold.
