The film opens in a rural village where Shyamlal (played by Navin Nischol) works as a loyal employee for the Zamindar. Despite having a biological son, Gopal, Anu showers immense affection on Ram, treating him as her own child, and Ram reciprocates her love. However, Ram’s playful and mischievous behavior often lands him in trouble, which Anu dutifully covers up.
