Deep River Boys

"Dream Street"

RCA Victor 20-2305

The Deep River Boys is a group of four singers.

The ensemble was active from the mid-1930s until the 1980s--the singers changed over time.

The original group consisted of Harry Douglass (baritone), Vernon Gardner (first tenor), George Lawson (second tenor) and Edward Ware (bass).

Sounds like the Ink Spots, the Platters?

In 1936, all of the boys -- Harry Douglas (baritone), Vernon Gardner (first tenor), George Lawson (second tenor), Jimmy Lundy, and Edward Ware (bass) -- were students at Hampton Institute in Virginia.

They began with performances on radio.
