Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor on Jermaine Burton and Brock Bowers
Transcript
00:00Yeah, he can separate, and he can catch the football.
00:02And so, again, that go-rout he ran was a nice job.
00:04He won quickly and got over the top
00:06and was able to stack him and secure it for a big play.
00:09It gave us a lot of momentum there.
00:11At that point, it was second and ten,
00:12so that was a big play in that drive.
00:14And so, again, his opportunities will continue to increase,
00:17and I like where Jermaine's headed.
00:19We got confidence in him, and, again,
00:22I think he's getting more comfortable every single week
00:23and trying to make the most of his opportunities.
00:25So I'm excited to see where he goes.
00:27Zach, you guys obviously took a couple tight ends
00:29in the draft, so in the evaluation process of tight ends,
00:31how much did you run across Brock Bauer's tape,
00:33and what impressed you in college
00:35and what impressed you now?
00:36Yeah, really tough.
00:38Turns into a running back when he's got the ball in his hands.
00:41So not only does he have tremendous quickness
00:44and ability to separate, but once he secures the ball,
00:48he's really difficult to bring down.
00:50You know, similar to Jamar in that sense,
00:53you know, that once he's got the ball,
00:55he's usually not going down on first contact
00:57and thinks he's going to score on every single play.
01:00That's really what you see from him.
01:02I think he's really progressing the run game as well.
01:04He's physical. He's willing.
01:06And, again, so it's not shocking to see the production
01:09that he's having right now.
01:10They're obviously getting him the ball.
01:12He's making the most of it.
01:14He's a big source of energy on their offense
01:16and something we've got to be aware of.
01:18Is he lining up all over the place?
01:21Yeah, they do a good job just getting the ball in his hands,
01:23you know, similar to what Georgia did.
01:25Just found ways to get it to him quickly,
01:27let him get on the field, and let him do the rest.
01:29And he's done a good job of that.
