00:00What is the relationship between Italy and the world?
00:04Italy, as a relationship between social spending and gross domestic product,
00:10is placed second in Europe, next to Austria, and immediately after France.
00:17We are among the first five countries in the world for welfare.
00:20This research is done to understand how the country manages to finance this welfare,
00:27which is quite generous.
00:29What emerges is, to simplify the data,
00:33that 40% of the population charges more than 90% of all taxes
00:42and the rest pays about 8% of IRPEF.
00:46So it is a country that is a bit unbalanced,
00:49where financing the forms of welfare is increasingly complicated.
00:56This is the image.
00:58Then, going down a bit in detail,
01:01we can say that 56% of the Italian population pays 6% of IRPEF
01:07and 15% only, who have an income that exceeds 35,000 euros,
01:13so certainly not a high income,
01:16charges 62%.
01:19So the first thing that emerges is that we have a very complete welfare.
01:23It is true that in health care we have some waiting lists and everything,
01:27but it is one of the best health care in Europe.
01:30However, from the point of view of financing,
01:33while pensions are self-financed,
01:36abundantly self-financed,
01:38as regards social assistance and health care,
01:41the problem is the poor financing due to taxes,
01:44especially to IRPEF.
