00:00There have been three buzzwords here.
00:01Growth, fixing foundations, and the other one is working people.
00:05Prime Minister says working people don't include those
00:07who make money from investment.
00:09So is it OK with you to raise taxes on the savings
00:12of working people with ISIS?
00:13No, what we're talking about here is people whose main income
00:17arises from the fact they go out to work every day.
00:19And they're the people that we've been clear about,
00:21both in the election and now, that they will not
00:24face higher taxes in their pay slip following this budget.
00:27But lots of people who go out to work every day
00:29have savings accounts and have ISIS and so on.
00:32That's the point of them.
00:34Of course they do, and that's incredibly important.
00:36So the idea that there won't be taxes on the money
00:41that those people earn might extend to their savings, is it?
00:45You are once again asking me to speculate on matters
00:47that are for the Chancellor.
00:49It's a matter of principle.
00:50But we have set out that we want to ensure
00:53that people who work hard and their main income
00:56comes from their jobs, that they get protection and support.
01:00And that's why our manifesto commitment was
01:02around no increases on VAT, national insurance,
01:05and income tax.
01:05We hold to that, and that's what people will see in the budget.
