TCU showcased intensity and resilience during its homecoming game, defeating Texas Tech 35-34 in a thrilling comeback.
Trailing 31-14 in the third quarter, TCU rallied to secure the win. The Horned Frogs’ defense stepped up when it mattered, especially after Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton was injured in the second half, forcing the Red Raiders to rely heavily on their running game.
Savion Williams led TCU’s offense with 72 rushing yards, 81 receiving yards, and two touchdowns, including a career-long 35-yard rushing touchdown—the longest run of the season for the Horned Frogs.
Despite throwing two interceptions, Josh Hoover had a strong performance, finishing 21 of 32 for 344 yards and three touchdowns. He capped off the game with an 84-yard touchdown pass to Eric McAllister.
With this victory, TCU has now defeated Texas Tech in eight of the last 11 matchups. The Horned Frogs will next face off against Baylor in the Bluebonnet Battle on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Waco.

00:00It was homecoming here in Eamon G. Carter Stadium as TCU defeats Texas Tech 35-34.
00:11Now going into tonight's matchup, TCU knew that they needed to exploit Tech's weak defense.
00:15A defense that ranks almost dead last in every single defensive statistic in the Big 12.
00:20And they do so in a good old-fashioned comeback.
00:22With wide receiver Eric McAllister registering an 84-yard touchdown reception, put TCU up
00:2735-34 late in the fourth, and then followed by a TCU defensive fumble recovery to eventually
00:33seal the deal.
00:34Savion Williams led the way offensively with 72 rushing yards, 81 receiving yards, and
00:39two touchdowns, including a 35-yard rushing touchdown, marking the longest carry of his
00:44career and the longest rushing play of the season by a Horned Frog.
00:48Head coach Sonny Dyke says in order to win a game like this tonight, you have to have
00:51team camaraderie.
00:52He says that's exactly what this team has.
00:55He says these guys truly love each other on and off the field.
00:58You don't have that kind of attitude and character, and you can't win a game like that if you're
01:03not just really good people like these guys are.
01:08I mean, they're just good people, and they care, like I said, they love each other, they
01:12don't want to let each other down.
01:13TCU will now hit the road to travel to Waco, Texas to take on Baylor in the Blue Bonnet
01:18battle this Saturday at 7 p.m.
