00:00You can mark today as the day that Texas is drawing a line in the sand and saying no.
00:06The privacy and safety of Texans is our first priority.
00:10Not political correctness.
00:14I had a room set up in the basement.
00:17My sister used to call it my man cave.
00:20And in fact it was actually my lady closet.
00:23Dad doesn't necessarily want this.
00:26It's just dad's gotta be a woman otherwise.
00:29Dad's not gonna be dad.
00:31I am transgender. Surprise.
00:36I texted my mom and I was like why is dad wearing your swimsuit?
00:40I kind of knew like for the last ten years when I found some like pantyhose in the closet.
00:48I just unrolled the pantyhose and there was like this giant pair of pantyhose and I said these are mine.
00:54And she like...
01:00One of my earliest recollections is I prayed for God to make me a girl.
01:05And it didn't happen.
01:07Do you know how many trans women it takes to change a light bulb?
01:10Uh huh.
01:11It only takes one.
01:12But she needs letters from two different therapists to verify that it does need to be changed.
01:20And she needs to wait at least a year.
01:24I became an accidental activist.
01:27I'm representing a 19 year old transgender woman from Honduras.
01:35People say to me, what?
01:37I'm sorry young man.
01:39You know Shakira because Shakira is there.
01:43I took advantage of riding off of the backs of my LGBT sisters and brothers.
01:50For decades.
01:51And now I feel like it's my turn to pay it back.
