An Israeli airstrike on a Lebanese border crossing on Friday 25 October has jeapordised the main escape route for people fleeing into Syria, says the UN. Speaking in Jordan, UN refugee agency Middle East spokesperson Rula Amin says such strikes are "hindering and really putting at risk a main lifeline that people use to escape the conflict". Israel's military has said the route was being used by Hezbollah to transfer weapons.
