Caledonian Edinburgh's new food and drink offering opened its doors on Thursday, October 24, so our reporter Kevin Quinn went along to have lunch at the elegant new venue in the city centre.

00:10Situated in the heart of this iconic hotel, this new social scene for residents and locals
00:15to gather and celebrate features exquisite and original heritage features, houses a grand
00:21cocktail bar, lively terrace for dining, patisserie, lounge and is finished with a live music stage.
00:27I went along to try out the lunch menu, starting with steak frites, with peppercorn and brandy
00:33cream and traditional garnish.
00:53Well that's the main course done, absolutely beautiful.
00:58While enjoying my lunch I took in the incredible surroundings of The Court, with the cocktail
01:02bar taking centre stage, drawing inspiration from the iconic 1-2-3 train, the fastest steam
01:08train associated with the Caledonian Railways, casting back to the hotel's own unique history
01:13as a railway station.
01:16Next up on the menu I had the dessert, the Manjari Chocolate Fondant, with whipped salted
01:21caramel popping candy, Baileys and Ganesh.
01:36The all-day dining menu has been curated in collaboration with internationally acclaimed
01:41chef Mark Greenlee, using seasonal Scottish ingredients.
01:44Well that pudding was a great end to a great lunch, here in the beautiful surroundings
01:49of The Court in the Caledonian Hotel, highly recommended.
