00:00Eminem made a rare public appearance at a Kamala Harris rally in Detroit,
00:04where he introduced Barack Obama and endorsed Harris in the upcoming presidential election.
00:09Going into this election, the spotlight is on us more than ever,
00:13and I think it's important to use your voice. I think Vice President Harris
00:18supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected
00:22and upheld.
00:23Obama hit the stage and admitted he was a little nervous following in the footsteps
00:27of the iconic Detroit rapper. The former president even rapped a capella to Em's
00:32Lose Yourself anthem, which was also his walkout music.
00:35I gotta say, you know, I have done a lot of rallies, so I don't usually get nervous.
00:45But I was feeling some kind of way following Eminem. I noticed my palms are sweaty,
00:52knees weak, arms are heavy, vomit on my sweater already, mom's spaghetti.
01:00I'm nervous, but on the surface I look calm and ready to drop bombs, but I keep on forgetting.
01:13Love me some Eminem.
01:14The move hyped up the Detroit crowd, although Obama's long been a fan of Slim Shady.
01:19He revealed in a 2020 interview that Lose Yourself was one of the tracks that served
01:23as inspiration while he was on the presidential campaign trail in 2008.
01:27When I needed some inspiration on the presidential campaign,
01:30I often turned to music. It was rap that got my head in the right place.
01:35Two songs especially. Jay Z's My First Song and Eminem's Lose Yourself.
01:40Both were about defying the odds and putting it all on the line.
01:44Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted,
01:49in one moment, would you capture it or just let it slip?
01:52Eminem made his voice heard with Michigan being a pivotal battleground state in the upcoming
01:56election. The countdown is on with 13 days until U.S. citizens rush the polls on November 5th.
