As Liverpool’s new era under Arne Slot has begun with great confidence and results, Curtis Jones has been utilised extremely well by his new manager and the fans, and those supporting neutral clubs are finally giving him the praise he deserves, here’s the latest on the young midfielder.

00:00And looking at Curtis Jones, obviously he's coming back to the headlines. He's a really
00:08impressive player. He finished the Urban Cop era in some great form. He's obviously started
00:14under Arnish, sliding in and out the side. He's a player who really should deserve a
00:18lot of credit for them. How impressed with him have you been and how bright is his future?
00:23Obviously, he's got a massive time ahead, especially with the international side as
00:27well.
00:28Yeah, it's funny, Curtis Jones, because when he burst onto the scene, it was probably six
00:34years ago, something like that, and you were really excited. You thought he was a mercurial
00:39talent for the youth team. He was all about goals and assists, but he's morphed into a
00:46different type of player now. He was maybe more of a winger when he came to the team
00:50and now he's very much a centre of the field. When he was playing in a deeper role, he was
00:57getting forwards and breaking the lines. It was an all-action performance from him. There
01:02are sections of fans who haven't been fully convinced on Curtis Jones, but yeah, Klopp's
01:07always held him in the highest regard. I think it's been as pressing as maybe lacked in the
01:13past, but people forget how young he is and he's had to learn. He's still 23, 24 and he's
01:20just starting to come into his own now. Yeah, he's had to be patient at the start of the
01:26season. He's someone who aren't a slot really, fought highly of after coming in. You thought
01:34it was a big chance for Curtis Jones because a few of the midfielders were away on international
01:37duty and seemed to really enjoy what the head coach was doing. Then Klopp picked up an injury
01:42and struggled to get his place back and Liverpool got real good options in the midfield. Judging
01:50on his performance against Chelsea, goal, won the penalty, could have potentially won
01:54the second penalty for Liverpool. As a defensive work race, I think that was superb. He was
02:01given the task of man-marking Cole Palmer and to give him that responsibility just underlines
02:08how highly Arne Slott must think of him. Not just his ability, but the way to manage games
02:19and the way to not switch off and say, right, where's Cole Palmer? I've got to do this,
02:24and then go and get forwards. You've got to really doff your cap to that. Arne Slott's
02:29got some decisions to make when it comes to his midfield. Obviously, Calister didn't start,
02:33he wouldn't mind having these mistakes, these decisions to make. Arne Slott, Curtis Jones,
02:40he's certainly on an upward trajectory, but can he now become a real regular starter?
02:45Because he's had a base in the team, he's had sustained spells, but he's not yet had
02:50the season where he's been a starter for the most part. Now it's time to say, can you
02:57do that?
