00:00So it's the end of another week here in Westminster and although it's sunny here,
00:04I know it has been raining in North Herefordshire and a lot of areas are seriously affected by
00:08flooding. I know roads are closed, schools are closed. I raised this in the House today actually
00:14and I asked a question to the government, will they make time for a debate on flood prevention
00:19and resilience? Because it's so important, we need councils to have the funding needed
00:24in order to unblock the drains. We need to make sure that all new development,
00:28housing and infrastructure is flood proof and takes into account the increasing likelihood
00:33and the increasing severity of flooding, taking into account climate change and of course we need
00:39to make sure that we're working with those that manage the land, working in partnership with
00:43farmers who've got such potential to help with natural flood management. I raised all of these
00:48issues in the Chamber this morning and I've written to the Minister this afternoon to drive
00:53the point home, we need to pay attention to flooding.
