00:00And right now, we're getting some breaking news.
00:03We're learning that a Vistara flight got a bomb threat.
00:06Delhi Frankfurt flight gets this threat.
00:09Kabul denies permit to use the airspace.
00:11Afghanistan has also denied permission to the flight, permit to overfly its airspace
00:16has been denied to the Vistara flight that got the bomb threat.
00:21Flight with 240 people forced to return, Vistara flight returns to Delhi and later it was discovered
00:28that the bomb threat was in fact a Hawks threat.
00:32Flight resumed journey to Frankfurt.
00:34So the series of Hawks bomb threats continues.
00:38Today we're learning that Vistara flight got this Hawks bomb threat.
00:42My colleague Nikhil Appani is now joining us with more details on this.
00:46Nikhil, clearly there's no end to these Hawks bomb threats being given to the Indian Airlines.
00:51What more details are we gathering regarding this particular threat that was given to the
00:55Vistara flight?
00:57Well, so actually this is the incident which came to light yesterday and through the agency
01:06what we are learning that this was the UK25 which belongs to the Vistara and this was
01:12denied permission to overfly in the Afghanistan airspace.
01:16And this was the flight which was bound to go to Frankfurt, which is in Germany from
01:21the capital city.
01:22But once the permission was denied from the side of the aviation authority of the Afghanistan,
01:26the plane had to come back and return to the place of origin, which is the IGI airport.
01:32And this is the reason why an additional cost has been incurred by the Vistara.
01:37But we do not know as to what exactly had gone through the details because once it was
01:43informed that the plane is going to land at the Frankfurt, but given the threat in nature,
01:49the Afghanistan authorities, which belongs to the civil aviation side, they did not give
01:53any of the permission for the overfly.
01:55Remember, through the agency, what we are learning that the pilot of that particular
02:00aircraft, he did not seek the permission to land in Afghanistan.
02:03It was only about the overflying from the Afghanistan airspace, which was gradually
02:09declined.
02:10So what we are learning further is that the plane had to come back.
02:12But this is the series of incidents which is currently being reported.
02:15So it has become a matter of international embarrassment as well for the domestic couriers.
02:22Remember, just a few days back, this was an Air India flight which was bound for Chicago,
02:28but it had to deviate to one of the remote locations in Canada.
02:32Thereafter, we sought some of the help from the aviation authority from Canada.
02:37So this is something which has become a norm now.
02:40And we are expecting some major decision to be out from the side of the Ministry of Civil
02:45Aviation.
02:46Because so far, whatever has been said or done, the impact of the same does not seem
02:50to be there on the ground.
02:51In fact, if you go by the detail which came out yesterday as well, over 20 were the flights
02:57which reported the similar kind of situation, similar kind of threats were given, which
03:01after the thorough inspection, we got to know that all turned out to be hogs called.
03:06But this is the festive season.
03:07So not just the passengers are concerned, but even the airlines are equally worried
03:11about this.
03:12Alright.
03:15Alright, Nikhil, thank you for giving us all those details.
03:18With that, we are now slipping into a very short break, but we will be right back with
03:22more stories on the other side.
03:24Stay with us.
