Denny Hamlin walks through his rough day at Las Vegas after pit-road miscues and alternating strategy mid-race.
Transcript
00:00Denny Hamlin winds up eighth, but that does not even begin to describe the story of this
00:04day.
00:05Problems on pit road.
00:06A fuel saving at the very end.
00:07How would you describe this day, Denny?
00:09Yeah, just not a clean day.
00:13That certainly kind of sums it up.
00:15You know, you'll have that, and we'll just do the best we can to get the best finish.
00:20I thought Chris did a great job trying to get some sort of finish.
00:25Once we lost the track position early, he was doing everything he could to try to get
00:28it back through some alternate strategy, and then it goes long there, and we fall
00:33back to the back.
00:34So it's just part of it.
00:36Yeah.
00:37So let's talk about it.
00:38You've always said the track just get better for us on the 11 team as we move forward.
00:41How do you feel about your points position where you are with Miami and Martinsville
00:44coming up?
00:45Yeah.
00:46I mean, I don't know where we're at, but certainly we're not running, you know, quite as strong
00:50as what we were earlier in the year, and we're definitely not as clean execution-wise as
00:55what we were.
00:56So just got to clean it up and go to homestead and try to win it.
