00:00It's Illinois and Michigan somehow someway the Illini still ranked the same
00:08story for the Mays in blue both staying in the top 25 entering this game but
00:14should be a good one in Illinois now a four and a half point spread Kev in
00:18favor of the Wolverines on the road total on its way up as well 44 and a
00:25half it might seem like a Big Ten battle on paper you're going to watch the
00:29Illini honor red grange in their throwback uniforms today and expect
00:33this game to not highlight the forward pass and be seven to three but Michigan
00:38off the by making yet another starting quarterback change the guy I think they
00:43wanted to be the starter all year long but was not healthy that's Jack Tuttle
00:48the Indiana transfer now the starter for Michigan against this Illinois team that
00:53had to go to overtime to hold off Purdue a weekend ago how do you see this match
00:58up today in champagne playing out now you just threw me for a loop you're the
01:02Big Ten guy so I'm fine deferring to you but I will need a little bit of extra
01:05information please you're telling me they wanted Tuttle to be the quarterback
01:09all year long by all reports with the way that fall camp played out and I
01:14think the inability to name the danger man Alex orgy the starter and give it to
01:19Davis Warren and the indecision to do so until the final hour before the opener
01:24against Fresno State there was some speculation that all offseason they
01:28trusted the experience Jack Tuttle the most not saying he's going to throw for
01:33350 today because they think he is that guy or even JJ McCarthy esque but I
01:38think they trusted him the most under center I again just reading what I was
01:43available felt that they were hoping Alex orgy would be their quarterback and
01:46that's why it was a stunner when they ultimately were going with Davis Warren
01:50to open the season and here's the thing I know it'll seem like I'm covering for
01:55the danger man let's also be realistic it's Alex orgy right like it's there's
02:01not like massive positions invested in Alex orgy I'm just evaluating what's in
02:05front of us this has been nothing other than a complete failure by this coaching
02:09staff and I don't know how else you describe it you want to blame Harbaugh
02:13for leaving them when he did that they weren't able to bring in a high-level
02:15transfer okay maybe they played six games they're on their third quarterback
02:21that is inexcusable you open the year with Davis Warren that was a mistake
02:25right away you could tell it was just run the ball with Edwards Mullings and
02:31orgy and eventually okay they realize that they should get the ball to Alex
02:35orgy and that's exactly what they do and now all of a sudden it's like all right
02:38I think we've probably salvaged this thing and then they go to Washington
02:42they get down 14 nothing and bench Alex orgy and I know people all come on they
02:49came right back total talk and then totals last two possessions of the game
02:52and a one possession game were fumble pick so they didn't get that answer
02:55right either I again I am very tempted to sit and be like if they had Alex
03:00orgy playing in every game they'd be unbeaten and I know we would all then go
03:03nuts at me I think they'd probably be in a better position had they just accepted
03:09what they had at their disposal and embraced it from the jump and that is
03:13two limited passers and then a really limited passer who's a great athlete
03:19stick with the athlete stick with the ground game and that Joe offensive
03:24inability is covering for a defense that has not flirted with living up to the
03:30preseason expectations I saw yesterday a top 100 players in college football list
03:35that had Will Johnson and Mason Graham both ranked inside the top 20 well then
03:40the other nine guys are the worst players in this entire sport because the
03:43defense has been bad all year this Michigan staff should be embarrassed with
03:48the product that they've put out for the first six weeks yeah well Sharon Moore is
03:52a first year technically head coach but again it's an identity problem I mean
03:58that's the thing they have to find their identity offensively and defensively I
04:02think when you look at the series perspective they've dominated Illinois
04:06they've won six straight the last four by 24.7 points per game Illinois has
04:11given up two teams down on Purdue and previously where they allowed 200
04:16rushing yards per game they allowed Ryan Brown to throw for close to 303
04:21touchdowns and and didn't cover as a 22 and a half point favorite in Champaign
04:26last week the Michigan's coming out of a bye I think they get back to basics Kev
04:30I think they do in fact run the football work off a play action I would lay the
04:35three-and-a-half in this matchup I think they grind out a victory I could
04:39see a 27 23
