00:29We are going to kind of get into a little NFL today.
00:33We're waiting for the NBA season to start.
00:36We have talked about the Celtics.
00:37We've talked about the Knicks and the Sixers.
00:39We got the lay of the land.
00:42But to wrap things up, we do need to talk about Gerard Mayer.
00:45That is coming up a little bit later on.
00:47Bob has certainly covered enough teams on the rebuild that we have a thing or two to
00:52say about this.
00:53So Bob, as we kick things off, Lonzo returns and just your thoughts on that and something
00:59obviously that people are anticipating.
01:02This is as long a hiatus as I am ever aware of in this league.
01:08And I don't know about any other league in injury related two and a half years.
01:13Lonzo Ball made his debut amidst all the controversy about daddy in the 17-18 season.
01:22He last was seen on the court in the 21-22 season, halfway through.
01:28He's missed two and a half years.
01:29He'll be 27 years old on the 27th of this month, October.
01:35He's a good player.
01:36He turned out to be, and apparently a really good guy, you know, he's weathered the storm
01:41with his crazy father very well and, you know, he's managed to navigate those choppy waters
01:50extremely well as a person.
01:52He's a good player.
01:53And it's going to be interesting to see what effect he does have on the Bulls.
01:57They're not, they had their little moment closed a few years ago, but he'll help them
02:02out.
02:03He made a debut, his return last night to a well-deserved standing ovation.
02:10And he played 15 minutes and he scored 10 points.
02:15He shot four for six and had 10 points.
02:20He's a good defender.
02:21He's a good feeder.
02:22He's a good player.
02:23I mean, he's a borderline all-star and, but it's welcome.
02:27He's talking about going through hell.
02:29I mean, how many athletes, I don't care what sport you're talking about, two and a half
02:33year hiatus due to injury is, that's extraordinary.
02:38Really?
02:39You know, I mean, I'm rooting for him to have a career and restore himself and he deserves
02:45it.
02:46So it's nice to see Alonzo Ball back.
02:49Alonzo would have quit.
02:50Ah, it's, you know, well, of course it's in his blood that the kids were raised, you know,
02:55to play ball, you know, this is, and, and, you know, daddy's a lunatic and, and, and
03:00they've managed to sidestep that very nicely.
03:02And apparently they're very, he and his brother, LeMelo, there was a third one there, you know,
03:07they've been popular with their teammates.
03:08They've handled themselves.
03:09I used to think that back when he was a rookie in New Orleans and daddy Lamar was still shooting
03:17off that he'd go into practice and say, Hey, dad was at it again, you know, but don't worry
03:21guys.
03:22I'm okay.
03:23You know, I mean, I just think that's probably the way he's handled this thing.
03:25But you know, of course our colleague, our great colleague and friend, Jeff Goodman,
03:30you know, he, he was on the ground floor of the, the, the Balls family story, went to
03:36see them in, in, in, in Europe and, and when they were there and it was the Lithuania.
03:42The fourth brother, Jeff Goodman.
03:44So, you know, I wish, but I'm sure Jeff, I'd love, we'll, we will get his thoughts on it,
03:48but I'd like to have his thoughts on it.
03:50But so welcome back Lonzo Ball on behalf of the,
03:53Well, here's, here's my parental view on this after having three kids and still raising
03:58a teenager, nature versus nurture.
04:02And I always go back to nature.
04:04And for the longest time, I thought I would be handing off all of my bad habits and family
04:13gloom, the Irish half of me, right, Bob, the Irish, the gloom, right, to my kids.
04:21And I, I've read up on this quite a bit and it's not, it's, it's not like that at all.
04:28Like my kids are all different and of course some, some family similarities a little bit,
04:36but they're all different.
04:37And I think I don't see a better example than the Ball situation.
04:44The two young men you just mentioned, I cannot tell you how much credit I give them for being
04:51their own men because, you know, your father and you had mentioned it.
04:56I think one of the reasons you're in the business you're in is because of your dad, tragically
05:00you lost him as a young man, which, which, which sucks.
05:05But I'm sure that had an exorbitant influence on you to a degree.
05:10It's why you're in what you're in, but like, you're not your father, you're not your mother.
05:14And, you know, one of the, you know, my family would always say that, Oh, he's just like
05:19uncle Jack or he's just like grandpa.
05:20But I go, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, stop that crap.
05:24The kids come out and they make their own way and they become their own people.
05:29This is a perfect example where, I mean, I cannot give these two kids basketball aside.
05:37Yeah, this thing was a circus, big ball three, starting their own speaker company.
05:44It was insane.
05:45And like you said, Bob, like they're good players.
05:51Well, one brother's better than the other, but I mean, they're not Jordan, you know,
05:56they're not the rant.
05:57They're good players.
05:58And these young men have kept their heads on their shoulders, despite the, I mean, their
06:02father loves him, but he's out of his mind.
06:04It's like, right.
06:06It's it.
06:07He was the ultimate stage father.
06:08That was what it was.
06:10And he survived.
06:11And, you know, but this is, you know, basketball version of gypsy, you know, but he, they survived
06:17very nicely.
06:18And, and he, they deserve, Alonzo deserved better than to have his career interrupted
06:23for two and a half years.
06:24I hope he can resurrect himself.
06:25Yeah, me too.
06:26I'll be watching this one.
06:27I haven't heard from the old man.
06:28Where is he?
06:29No, I know.
06:30I don't know.
06:31That's yeah.
06:32That's true.
06:32Well, it's welcome.
06:33That's welcome.
06:34Silence is golden here and now, you know, probably after a while.
06:37Well, if I can echo the tremolos here, silence is golden.
06:40So that's good.
06:41We will have to hear it.
06:42By the way, he's back and the Bulls, you know, the Bulls aren't a contender.
06:45They had, they had a little flurry back in, you know, a number of years ago when they
06:49were pretty damn good.
06:50But, and I don't know how good they can be anymore.
06:53They're in a sort of almost become an anonymous team right now.
06:56Right.
06:57Almost like the Western Conference version of the Wizards who have been anonymous for
07:0030 years.
07:02That's a story.
07:02I've explored that story on occasion.
07:04And I see if we have more reason to go into it again.
07:08The last time the Wizards were really relevant and how it must be growing up as a so-called
07:14fan of theirs, you know, what do you sink your teeth into?
07:18But anyway, that's another story.
07:20I mean, I digress.
07:22I digress.
07:23We digress in this podcast, Bob.
07:24Agent Zero had a gun.
07:26That's the last thing I remember about that.
07:28That's good.
07:29That's very good.

08:22Okay, so the WNBA finals with Caitlin Clark out of the picture.
08:27They continue to thrive.
08:30Ratings are terrific.
08:32People, I know what happened.
08:34People don't know if you didn't care or you slept overslept or something or the Liberty
08:39were down 15 early.
08:40They won on a clinching buzzer beater.
08:44I didn't mean one second to go.
08:46A step back three drilled about 28 feet by Sabrina Ionescu who had hit a big three to
08:52put him up by four with about a minute and some to go.
08:55But it was a good game to watch and the Lynx came back and scored and made it a game again.
09:03Anyway, she won the game.
09:04They're up two to one.
09:05It's a best of five.
09:06Next year will be a best of seven, but still a best of five.
09:09So they're one game away to Liberty.
09:10Liberty spent a lot of money and in the context of the WNBA, they went out for a super team
09:16idea and loaded up and they're on the verge of being rewarded for that.
09:21Sabrina Ionescu, I did X out was Caitlin before Caitlin.
09:26Of course, I'm getting hooted down because a little bit.
09:29What I do mean is she was a big college star and came in with a lot of ballyhoo, but the
09:35league didn't in the context of the times, the WNBA didn't have the focus it has now.
09:41Almost directly due to Caitlin Clark.
09:44And someone said to me, oh, you're trying to put down Caitlin Clark.
09:48No, I'm trying to elevate Sabrina Ionescu.
09:50Don't forget the ballyhoo that greeted her arrival in that league.
09:56She's a very nice, well-rounded player.
09:59Then, of course, Breonna Stewart had another big game, 30 plus points.
10:02Blocked six shots last I recall.
10:05She's reminding everybody how great she is and she's getting a lot of focus in this
10:09playoffs.
10:09I'm glad of that.
10:11It's just amazing the number of UConn players that have had an impact over time.
10:17I'm reading up on this thing.
10:20The celebrities are into this.
10:23Last night, some of the Xs that came out after the game was over, Kevin Durant was heard from
10:32and a few other luminaries in the game.
10:36The males are paying attention.
10:37The focus is on...
10:38It's just all good.
10:39The great thing is that they're reminding people that Caitlin Clark, the fallout is so incredible.
10:45Watching her is a treasure, a pleasure.
10:49She's focused on the entire league so people can see all these other terrific players that
10:54have been going on under the radar for the most people for all these years.
10:59They're getting their due now.
11:01This is a Tiger Woods effect.
11:04You can't thank her enough.
11:06And she's handled it, I think, very well with great dignity and class.
11:10She did not want to get caught up in that nonsense of the racial thing that has been
11:15going around with Angel Reese and backlash and all that stuff.
11:20She's trying to float above it.
11:22She's announcing it and she's handled it very well.
11:27But this league has taken a huge step forward in just 12 months.
11:31And so, you've told me if last year, forget about two or five years ago, if I would have
11:38gotten up in the morning and announced that my primary thing I'm interested in today is
11:43at eight o'clock tonight, I want to see the Lynx and the Liberty.
11:46And that's on a night when baseball was being played and I'm still a baseball guy, ultimately.
11:52That was my focus.
11:53Did I flip?
11:53Yeah, I flipped the dial.
11:54I was playing flipper.
11:55But my anchor was the women's basketball game.
11:58My secondary was the Dodgers and the Mets.
12:01And that would have never happened before.
12:04But this year-
12:05Other than Katie Clark bringing attention to it, why do you think it is so popular?
12:11People are finding out.
12:12It's a different game and it's not dependent on aerial circus.
12:16It's not wholly dependent on the three, the way the NBA has become, in a way.
12:20It's basketball of days gone by, reminding people that you can have a game that doesn't
12:26have to have an aerial circus every night, that they pass, they move, they have team play.
12:32And there's some terrific players.
12:34That shot she made last night in the clutch.
12:36Now, if that were the NBA, they'd be writing sonnets about it.
12:39Because it was a step back three, perfectly swish three.
12:44I mean, the players are good players.
12:46And the game, I've been following it since I was really introduced to it heavily in 1992
12:54at the Olympics, because in addition to the Dream Team, I covered every women's game, our game.
12:58And that's when we famously lost in the semifinals to the EUN, after the breakup of the Soviet Union.
13:06And we lost the game to them and we wound up getting the bronze.
13:10But subsequently, at every world championship I went to or Olympics, I followed women's basketball
13:16as well.
13:17And so I'm a fan of it.
13:20It's a nice brand of basketball to watch.
13:22It's a quality product.
13:24It's a quality product, like female tennis.
13:27Right?
13:28I mean, for the longest time, I mean, Martina, if you would say, like, who is the most famous
13:33tennis player in the world, it's Borg and Connors.
13:35But you could say Navratilova.
13:37Yeah.
13:37You know, or Kursieva.
13:39Because the game, like I remember watching, not that I'm a big tennis guy, but, you know,
13:43if I'm watching Wimbledon, I would be just as interested in the women as the men.
13:48Because the game was great.
13:50The WNBA is a quality product.
13:52It's, and when people say, I go, and Caitlin Clark, I think, helped bring some people over
13:57to see it.
13:58You've known it for a while.
14:00You know, I've covered women's basketball.
14:02I mean, it's a good game.
14:04I remember Diana Taurasi as a freshman.
14:06I went down to Hartford to cover a game and was blown away by Diana Taurasi as a freshman.
14:13I was a big fan of Sue Bird.
14:15I thought she was a terrific, and Dawn Staley herself, the great coach of South Carolina.
14:20Dawn Staley, in the 1996 Olympics, I wrote a column about Dawn Staley and what a wonderful
14:24point guard she was.
14:24And, you know, and, you know, and kiddingly, she's the best point guard in the world.
14:28Well, she understood the position as well as any male you've ever seen.
14:31She did understand the position.
14:33She was great.
14:34So, you know, I've always, Lisa Leslie, I'm still waiting to see a better pivot player
14:38in the women's game today than Lisa Leslie.
14:40She's, she's, she's the gold standard of pivot play for the women.
14:44She's the, she's the Kareem slash Wilt slash Russell of women's basketball.
14:49And that position, as far as I'm concerned.
14:51And so, you know, they've been there all along.
14:54And now people are understanding, you know, more and more that, here's my theory I've
14:58always had about basketball and specifically, I apply a certain mentality to the level of
15:06play that I'm watching with certain level of expectation about what it's all about.
15:10They each have a different essence.
15:11So high school is one thing, you know, and I can appreciate a good high school game by
15:15applying my experience and thought about how, what you can expect and should expect
15:21and out of a high school level of performance.
15:23Then we go to college and then you've got different levels of college.
15:26You got division three, you got division two, you got division one, okay.
15:30All different essence, you know, and then you hit the NBA.
15:35And, and so I can, I can plug myself into any of those levels and say, this is, this
15:42is what I, it's right to expect and enjoy.
15:45And enjoy the game.
15:46And enjoy them each on their own level.
15:47The NBA, you know, if you don't like women's, you know, I mean, I'm not saying you have
15:52to love women's basketball, but, but I think if you really love basketball, you, you probably
15:56will, you should like women's basketball.
15:59So if you really love it, if it's just something, you know, when you're vaguely in your repertoire,
16:03fine, you know, it's the way I am about certain other sports, but certainly in the women's
16:07basketball, they deserve, they're deserved.
16:09This is a long overdue credit and, and the spotlight they're getting and I'm happy for
16:14everybody.
16:15No doubt.
16:15There's nothing like seeing a game live.
16:17I mean, watching it on TV is great.
16:18We have all the technology, we have our phones, we have access to everything, but being there
16:22in person, it's definitely the way to go.
16:25Game time has a new feature called game time picks that makes getting tickets to see your
16:29favorite teams play live even easier.
16:32Game time filters out the fluff to show you only incredible deals on great seats.

16:41an account, use code CLNS for $20 off your first purchase.
16:45Terms apply.
16:46Again, create an account and redeem code CLNS for $20 off.
16:51Download game time today.
16:52What time is it?
16:53It's game time.
16:55So Bob, we're going to switch gears a little bit because we're waiting for the real NBA
16:58games to start.
17:00And we have covered all the bases, but Gerard Mayo, who I happen to think a lot of worked
17:06with him at Comcast SportsCenter, NBC Sports Boston for a couple of years.
17:09Wonderful guy.
17:11The guy is a top shelf person.
17:13Now, it all comes down to wins and losses.
17:15I understand that in the NBA.
17:18And it's a sports talk radio thing.
17:22The Patriots, they're a mess.
17:25But you know what?
17:26Get over it.
17:27It's going to take time.
17:29And I think that if anybody thinks that you can get on Mayo now, it's just uneducated.
17:35You got to give this guy like three years.
17:38You got to get some players.
17:40It's not the problem.
17:41The roster is the problem, period.
17:43The roster is the problem.
17:45He's managing a subpar NFL roster.
17:48I've already seen at least one reference this week, if not, and you'll see it frequently,
17:53just casually stating it as a given.
17:56The reference is they're the worst team in the league right now.
18:01Any given game, they should be the underdog right now, no matter who they're playing.
18:05This is what people think.
18:06And why not?
18:08I mean, their founding achievement looks worse and worse because the Bengals
18:13haven't proven out to be anything.
18:16And that game with Miami was an embarrassment to both of them.
18:20Seriously.
18:21That was awful.
18:21That was terrible.
18:23That's a burden of film.
18:24Don't let anybody ever see it, folks.
18:27If I'm Roger Goodell, I ordered all the films confiscated, all the tapes, get rid of them.
18:31We don't want anybody to ever see this game.
18:35Miami was only marginally better than the Patriots that day.
18:38The Patriots beat themselves to about 12 penalties.
18:42People are going to hold him accountable for that.
18:43You know that.
18:44The penalties thing, he's got to somehow.
18:48But he's not the problem.
18:50The problem is a lack of overall talent on their roster.
18:53Now, we'll see how much Drake May can rectify the situation to some degree.
18:59I'm a little bit amused after that performance.
19:02The stuff we're reading is so glowing all of a sudden.
19:06I just hope, get a grip now, folks.
19:08But it was encouraging.
19:11If you're a Patriots fan, you needed encouragement.
19:13We know that.
19:14You needed that.
19:14And that one play, specifically, at the end of the half, the great 40-yard pass,
19:20is being held up as the best play.
19:23It's the best play we've seen in a couple of years, since post-Brady, quite frankly.
19:27Good.
19:29May not turn out to be an isolated incident.
19:31May turn out to be who he is.
19:33Wouldn't that be nice?
19:35So, yeah, it was encouraging.
19:38That's fine.
19:40More and more people keep getting hurt.
19:45They're just no good.
19:47But Bill left the cover bare.
19:48Yes.
19:49Bill left the cover bare.
19:52They've even been on Wolf a little bit.
19:54He's been the boss.
19:55He's been the GM for less than a year.
19:58And this I do know.
20:00Michael Hawley wrote a...
20:02Did you read Hawley's book, War Room?
20:06No.
20:07Okay.
20:07If you're ever looking for...
20:08I mean, you have a million books on the docket.
20:10You're always reading a book.
20:12Yeah.
20:12You know, everybody points to Hawley's, you know, one during the Super Bowl run.
20:17You know, when they win the Super Bowl.
20:19Everybody points to that.
20:20That's the big one.
20:23But War Room is, for me, as a member of the media...
20:27You know, because some of the stuff that were in the other, you know, that Michael documented,
20:30you know, some of us knew if you were working on the beat every day.
20:33War Room's the best book he's ever written.
20:36It's fantastic.
20:38Because it goes into the back channels of the draft.
20:44And there were just times that, you know, Bill's scouts were saying,
20:47Bill, you can't...
20:49No, that's not the right move.
20:51And Bill's like, no, I'm picking him.
20:52I mean, he went against his advisors a lot.
20:58Well, he was...
20:59You know, and, you know, so when some people say, well, Wolf was part of the old regime,
21:04I go, yeah, but that doesn't mean...
21:06I mean, Nick Cassario was part of the old regime and Houston's looking pretty good.
21:10You know, in the beginning, you know, he was being cited way back, you know,
21:14for some of these prescient moves, like the greatest one being Vrabel, who was a sub.
21:18And he saw something in Mike Vrabel, you know, and he turned out to be,
21:21you know, an integral part of multiple champs.
21:23Well, but he also listened to his guys.
21:25He also had Pioli with him then, too.
21:27Yeah, he got Pioli, right, right.
21:28You know, and he had some good guys in the room, but Bill wasn't Bill then.
21:31Bill was still...
21:32I mean, when he got Vrabel, Bill was still a couple of losses away from being fired in 2000.
21:38Yeah, yeah.
21:39But I think that when Bill got to the end of the line a little bit, I just think he stopped listening.
21:43It was very analogous, you know, to the entire
21:45Pitino regime in basketball, because Rick Pitino,
21:49the coach, was done in by Rick Pitino, the general manager.
21:52It's the same thing, Bill.
21:53Because, you know, for me, I mean, Bill, Bob, you're Bob, same thing, Bob.
22:00I thought Pitino was one of, he is one of the best coaches ever in all sports.
22:06I think he's a great coach.
22:08But I remember, you remember, you were there the day, the coronation at the Garden.
22:12Oh, God, yeah.
22:13Oh, yeah.
22:14Where Red isn't up on the stage.
22:17I sure was.
22:19That whole thing, and I love the fact that, I think we may have mentioned this,
22:23Rick is trying to expunge that whole experience from his resume, almost.
22:27It's like, you know, the missing years, you know.
22:30Yes, it didn't happen.
22:32No, it never happened.
22:33Well, he could coach.
22:34I mean, he did a good job with the Knicks.
22:36But I'll never forget, Stuart Lane, and he were walking from the old office over to the Garden,
22:42and I was working for Channel 4.
22:43So, you know, all the big shots, Lobel and Noomi, God bless them.
22:47They were all in the building.
22:48And I'm, you know, on the sidewalk following everybody.
22:51And we're videotaping Rick walking across the street with Stuart, you know, from the offices.
22:56And he goes, Stuart, I wanted to talk to you about the uniform colors and the sneaker colors.
23:01And he wanted people to hear him because he wanted to be the next Riley.
23:04It was like, you know, that's what got him in trouble.
23:08Who cares?
23:10You know, who cares?
23:12You know, that's the part that, but I put Patino.
23:16Great call.
23:17I'm all, you know, we're going to see what's happened with St. John's.
23:21By the way, this is where we've come.
23:23And we will be talking about college basketball with Jeff when the season comes.
23:26You don't worry.
23:26It's coming soon enough.
23:29But this is where we are now.
23:31Rick Patino has not recruited a single freshman at St. John's this year.
23:36He doesn't need one.
23:37He's got nothing but transfers.
23:39I mean, I'm not saying so.
23:42I mean, that's where we are.
23:43But he's right in the forefront, folks.
23:46He's got a team of transfers.
23:48And, you know, we'll see how good he thinks they're going to be.
23:51He seems to think they're going to be pretty damn good at St. John's.
23:55We'll keep our eye on that.
23:56But this is where we are, folks.
23:59He's not even interested in a freshman.
24:02Well, I mean, and this goes to why I think Caitlin Clark took off.
24:08People still need an identity.
24:10They need a team.
24:12UConn won two titles with different rosters.
24:15You know, they want an identity.
24:16I mean, college basketball to me was as much about, well, Bobby Hurley was drafted.
24:23Who was the young point guard for Syracuse?
24:27There were two.
24:28Was it Jerry?
24:29Oh, Jerry Corcoran.
24:31Maybe.
24:31But Syracuse, like, it was during the-
24:33Well, they had, well, we had Sherman Douglas.
24:37Sherman, but Sherman played in the NBA.
24:38But anyway.
24:39Oh, yeah.
24:39Whenever, you know, for every Carmelo, yeah, for every Carmelo Anthony you had,
24:45you know, like on a team, you had a Billy Donovan, right?
24:49Yeah.
24:49Who wasn't going to play in the NBA, but you liked him.
24:53Right?
24:53You rooted for him.
24:54You liked him.
24:55He was like my guy.
24:56Oh, no, no.
24:57And they don't have that anymore.
24:59There's a lot to like.
25:00Yeah, that's a very good point.
25:01It's a whole fabric of it.
25:03And by the way, apropos of nothing that we've been talking about or that was supposed to
25:08be on our domain, it just blew me away.
25:11There is a story in the USA Today on Kirby Smart.
25:18And it's the longest single story.
25:21It's a New Yorker kind of a lengthy story.
25:24That and when you come away and reading it about, you realize how far away from what
25:29we grew up and knew about college sports that it is gone.
25:33And Georgia's Exhibit A, I recommend it.
25:37It's almost sobering.
25:38If you haven't been paying attention, you won't believe what you're reading.
25:42But if you have been paying attention, you're confirmed.
25:44You know what I'm saying?
25:44Oh, yeah.
25:45About what goes, what the state of affairs is in college football with the highest level.
25:50Big money, Bob.
25:51He's making $13 million a year now, Kirby Smart.
25:55Thirteen.
25:56And, you know, and Georgia has got multiple, like upwards of 30 arrests over the last several
26:03years of DUIs and this and that and all kinds of stuff.
26:09He's making $30, $30, $13, excuse me.
26:11Oh, yeah.
26:12I didn't know it was that much.
26:13I thought it was more like, but anyway, it's, it, it, it blows, it blew me away.
26:19Yeah, college, it's big money.
26:21And that's.
26:22And another story I've got to bring up since, well, since I, you know, we're off the top of
26:28the top, but we'll bring up this other one.
26:30I hadn't given this one thought.
26:32One of the byproducts of the new order of college football and big time basketball
26:39with the NIL money that players now possess.
26:42Right.
26:43Guess what is a mode of punishment that is now being implemented in certain places?
26:48Not a suspension, a fine.
26:52College players are getting fined by their coaches for various transgressions.
26:58They have the money.
26:59Say no more.
27:03But it's amateur.
27:05Oh, no, well, you know, when I grew up, what, you know, in a big issues on amateurism,
27:12on amateurism, track and field was very important that, you know, and, and tennis, of course,
27:19the difference between, you know, there was no pro tennis, you know, there was, there
27:22was pro tennis, but it was separate from all the, the real world of tennis was, you know,
27:28the amateurs who played for the US Open and the Wimbledon and the Australian and the French.
27:32And then the pros had their own circuit.
27:34Jack Kramer rated and all, blah, blah, blah.
27:35Okay.
27:36Amateurs.
27:37They called them amateurs, the guys that, you know, well, you know, that there's no
27:42more amateur.
27:43You're either amateur or you're pro and they are, they're pros.
27:47Anyway, fining college players.
27:49That's a new one on me.
27:51That's my revelation for today.
27:53I didn't know.
27:54I just remember when I did a Tangway Takes America and we stopped at the University of
27:58Georgia and we were, I can't remember for what Patriot player, but we did a sit down
28:04with Kirby and, you know, came in very nice guy.
28:07Oh, shucks.
28:08Whole bit, you know, and then I just saw the indoor practice facility in one of the fields
28:14was for kicking only just for kicking.
28:17It was just for kicking and the weight room.
28:21Oh, the weight room.
28:22The weight room was as big as Gillette stadium.
28:25As big as Gillette stadium, me, a hundred players.
28:27But I said, I go, this is, this field is kind of thin and they go, yeah, it's just for the
28:32kickers.
28:34I recommend this story.
28:35Anybody remotely interested in college sports, I recommend this story.
28:40And I don't know who you are.
28:41You are going to be enlightened as far as I don't know who you are.
28:44I'll be willing to bet that you're going to go, oh my God, I didn't know.
28:47I had no idea things are what they are.
28:49And Georgia, it's really a revelation.
28:52Well, Bob, as they say, we used to say up in Rumford, Maine, it's always a pleasure
28:56chewing the fat with you.
28:59Nah, Rumford.
29:00Nah.
29:01Anyways, we are brought to you by PrizePix, the exclusive daily fantasy partner of the
