00:05Hey, how's it going? Dave2D here.
00:07So this is the Razer Mamba HyperFlux.
00:09This is their new wireless mouse that uses inductive charging to power this thing.
00:13And I don't do mice reviews, like this is not my thing on channels,
00:17but because I like this thing so much, I thought I'd do a quick video about it.
00:20So this is literally the best gaming mouse that I've used so far, ever.
00:24And the thing that I like about it, the thing that makes it special, is just how lightweight it is.
00:28What makes this different from other inductively charged wireless mice,
00:32is the fact that there's no battery in this thing.
00:34It's a completely battery-free device.
00:36It has a capacitor, which I don't think those are technically batteries,
00:40but it does hold a charge through a capacitor.
00:42But because there's no heavy battery in there, it's incredibly light,
00:45and it's really good for first-person shooters.
00:47So I like my mice really light, and this thing fits the bill.
00:50So I've used a lot of wireless mice before, obviously,
00:52and I've used wireless mice that use conductive pads.
00:54So I've used the Logitech, I think they call it the PowerPlay,
00:57and I've also used the Corsair, they call it the DarkCore.
01:00Thing is, every single wireless mouse that I've ever used, that uses inductive charging,
01:04has this weight to it.
01:06And I like weighted mice for, like, just work and just regular stuff,
01:09but when it comes to playing games, I absolutely love light mice.
01:12This thing comes in at 96 grams.
01:14To put this into perspective, there are wireless mice out there that have,
01:18I think, like 120, 150 gram weights.
01:21This is super lightweight, and when you're playing a shooter,
01:23it's just like, it just moves around.
01:25Real quick, real smooth, completely wireless mouse,
01:28it's just an awesome gaming experience.
01:30Now, the way this thing works is you have a mat,
01:32they call this the Firefly HyperFlux,
01:34and you connect it to your computer, so this thing is actually wired,
01:37but your mouse sits on top, and through induction,
01:39it charges the capacitor inside this mouse.
01:41So the charge on this thing lasts about 20 seconds, maybe 30 seconds,
01:45it's not very long, but you basically always have it on the mat,
01:48and when it's on the mouse mat, it never runs out of power.
01:50It basically uses the mat to sustain itself,
01:52so you can kind of keep using it for indefinitely.
01:54Now, this thing can be used in a wired mode,
01:56so you would unplug the cable from the mousepad,
01:58and connect it directly into the mouse,
02:00and it's just basically to give it some extra functionality
02:02if you want to travel with this thing, like you wouldn't bring the mousepad with you,
02:05you just bring the mouse and the cable, and it'll work.
02:08The HyperFlux mechanism to power everything actually feels pretty good.
02:11It feels reliable, more reliable than I thought,
02:13like a wireless connection would feel, but yeah, I really like this system.
02:17So, this mat, it's reversible, so you have two sides.
02:21I don't know if you saw a video of mine earlier,
02:23there was like a Razer mousepad that had a flippable surface,
02:27and both sides were hard surfaces.
02:29This has a hard surface, and a soft surface.
02:33I prefer the soft kind of cloth feeling side,
02:35but both materials are pretty good.
02:37And the mat lights up, so it's got RGB lighting.
02:39I think this is unique to this system,
02:41like the PowerPlay and the DarkCore systems don't light up like this,
02:45but it's 2018, it's a Razer product, you kind of expect that.
02:49I mean, would this even be a Razer product if it didn't light up in RGB?
02:52I don't think that the lights look obnoxious or anything like that,
02:55because at CES, I was a little bit worried,
02:57the demo booth was really dark, and the lights were just like glowing like crazy.
03:01These are fully customizable in the software,
03:03and you can control brightness and stuff,
03:04so you can basically light it up to your heart's content,
03:06or just keep it kind of muted.
03:08The mouse itself, so this is using the 3360 sensor,
03:11it's a pretty popular sensor amongst high-end mice.
03:1416,000 DPI at the top end, it's fully controllable,
03:17and it's a very responsive sensor, a lot of people like it.
03:19I personally find it extremely comfortable to hold.
03:22It's definitely comfortable for palm grip users,
03:24I can't speak for claw grippers, because I'm not a natural claw gripper,
03:27I feel like it would work, but I feel like there's better shapes than this for claw grips.
03:31I also like the rubber on the side,
03:33I think this is something that a lot of the recent Razer mice have,
03:35so this kind of horizontal pattern,
03:37I just find it more comfortable to hold than the dotted pattern,
03:39than my older SteelSeries 300 mouse head.
03:42The buttons are very Razer-ish,
03:44I feel like most people are going to like these buttons.
03:45They're a little bit stiffer than the DeathAdder buttons,
03:48not as stiff as the SteelSeries Rival 300 ones,
03:51they're very light, but not too light.
03:53Now, there are some things I don't like,
03:55and a lot of these dislikes stem from the fact that this is a very expensive mouse.
03:58It's $250, it's literally one of the most expensive mice,
04:01maybe the most expensive mouse I've ever seen.
04:03And, let's start with the first one.
04:05I wish that the scroll wheel had some kind of tension adjustment,
04:08because we've seen that tech in some of Razer's other mice,
04:10it would've been nice to see it in this.
04:12The other thing is, I wish this thing had weight adjustment.
04:15So I understand that this whole thing is supposed to be a super lightweight mouse,
04:18that really is what defines this mouse,
04:20but for some people that prefer a heavier mouse,
04:22it would've been nice that you could kind of increase the weight of this,
04:25for people that, I don't know, for like mobile players and stuff,
04:27that do prefer heavier mice, and they don't allow that,
04:30so it kind of limits the customizability of this mouse.
04:32But, there's not that much else I dislike about this thing.
04:35I wish it came in white, obviously, but, yeah.
04:38It's a really slick mouse, and of all the gaming mouse that I've tried,
04:41this is seriously my favorite.
04:42Now it's $250, it's obviously not for everyone,
04:44but if you're on that hunt for that perfect gaming mouse,
04:46that's got that performance of a wired mouse,
04:48and the physical feel of a wired mouse,
04:50but has that freedom of a wireless mouse,
04:52check this thing out, it's awesome.
04:54Okay, hope you guys enjoyed this video,
04:56thumbs if you liked it, subs if you loved it,
04:58see you guys next time.
