00:00Okay, so I woke up this morning, today's Amazon Prime Day, where things are often on sale
00:08on Amazon.
00:09Now the truth is, the sales that appear on Amazon Prime Day have gotten not as enticing
00:14over the years, but this thing, holy smokes, this is like, okay, this is a $1000 laptop,
00:20they're selling it for $999, their original price is $1200.
00:24And at that original price, I did a review on this thing, I was like, this is, at $1200,
00:29one of the best values you can get, probably the best gaming laptop you can get for $1200.
00:34And then at $999, at its current price, it is, like, if you're interested in gaming at
00:40all, desktop gaming, laptop gaming, any kind of gaming, and you have $1000, like, seriously
00:47consider this.
00:48So here's why.
00:49On the market right now, there are three or four brands that make laptops that are considered
00:53to be competitive in that $1200 gaming laptop price point.
00:57So we have stuff from Lenovo, Asus, Acer makes this one, obviously, there's stuff from
01:01Dell and HP.
01:03They're all really good, and they're all, like, competing with each other for price,
01:06but even when this thing was at $1200, this thing stood out as being slightly better than
01:11the rest.
01:12It's got a 144Hz screen, it's got a GTX 1660 Ti, basically, the components that they've
01:18used in this thing are matched really well with each other, they perform, like, there's
01:21no bottlenecking, there's no compromises on this device to hit that $1200 price point.
01:27There are no-name, bare-bones laptops like Clevo and Tongfang that are priced even more
01:32than this thing is.
01:33So, do you remember last year, Walmart was selling this laptop called the OP gaming laptop,
01:38which was $1400 at launch, but because everyone criticized its price, they dropped it down
01:42to $999.
01:43They sold out really quickly, a lot of people missed out on that sale.
01:47This is the same price, but it's even better, like, this is a better sale or a better value
01:52than that Walmart device was, and people were sad when that thing was sold out.
01:56You can cash in on this.
01:57There's 3 days on this sale, and I can't recommend this thing enough at that price point.
02:01So it's not a perfect laptop, if you watch my review, you'll get more details on it,
02:04but there's things I dislike about it.
02:05I don't love the logo on it, like, it's, uh, it's pretty, it's not, like, super obnoxious,
02:11but it's not, like, a simple muted design, um, and the battery life is a little short,
02:15it's like a 4 to maybe 4.5 hour battery, but at $1000, I really don't think you're gonna
02:19get a better price for a gaming laptop for the rest of the year.
02:23Maybe on Black Friday, you'll see some stuff that's, like, comparable to this, but, yeah,
02:27highly recommend this thing right now.
02:28Other devices they have that I saw on Amazon that were kind of neat, the S10 and the S9
02:32are on a pretty solid sale.
02:34The S9 in particular, this is a $350 phone right now, like, if you think about how much
02:40these phones cost to produce, like, this thing's at least $150 or $200 to manufacture, so for
02:45them to sell for $350 on Amazon is a killer price.
02:48But I wouldn't really consider these phones unless you were planning on getting a phone
02:52anyways, like, this thing, however, the Helios 300, like, even if you were not intent on
02:59getting a gaming laptop for the summer, and you were planning on building a desktop, like,
03:03can you actually build a desktop with this kind of performance and 144Hz screen and Windows
03:07license and all the peripherals to make it a fully functional computer for that much
03:11cheaper than $999?
03:12Like, I'm sure it can be done, but it's certainly not easy, and you won't have the portability
03:16of something like this, so can't recommend this thing enough, man.
03:19Helios 300, if you're looking for a gaming laptop, hop on this.
