00:00Hey guys, another video of our Crime and Emergency Services in Japan playlist.
00:04We've showed you some patroluru on previous videos.
00:10Very similar to the guardoman type thing in Japan.
00:15Sort of symbolic in a way.
00:16That one says Crime Prevention and Disaster Prevention.
00:20Good luck with that.
00:22So sometimes it's like in this case it's just a group of old dudes from the Old Men's Association
00:29who drive the streets preventing disasters and crime apparently.
00:35Sometimes it's a company that's put some of this stuff on their car that's in this case
00:39here.
00:40So they put the blue light on the roof and they put the sign on the car saying they're
00:43going to prevent disasters and crime.
00:46And they just use the car for their usual business really.
00:51But the thinking is that these signs and those flashing lights help deter crime and prevent
00:57disasters apparently.
00:59So the funny thing is I find myself sometimes in places where I'm not known.
01:04And when I see one of these coming sometimes I can't help myself.
01:07I've got to try and act a little bit suspicious.
01:11Sort of hide my face or hide behind a tree or something just to see what reaction I get.
01:16And I've never got a reaction.
01:18These guys just drive along having a chat and they're not really paying much attention
01:23usually to what's going on.
01:25It's sort of similar to the way police patrol too.
01:28Police patrol here are often like that too.
01:30They just drive around with their red flashing light on the roof of their car.
01:34And the idea is that will prevent crime.
01:37Where in actual fact it just warns any criminals that they're coming doesn't it.
01:41So this is Patrol.
01:46So you can see they've done it just like a Japanese police car.
01:49But instead of saying police it says patrol.
01:52And it's got instead of the red light bar on the roof it's got a blue one.
01:56But other than that pretty much a copy of a Japanese police car.
01:59So they have no powers to do anything except observe and deter apparently anyway.
02:06But patrol in Japan.
02:09More videos coming soon.
