03:34which is about the acceptance of repentance of three companions,
03:38who did not go to war.
03:40Who were they?
03:42And the second one is,
03:43Surah At-Tawbah, verse number 119,
03:45a call to righteousness and honesty.
03:48These are the two verses that we will discuss today.
03:52Two verses from Surah At-Tawbah,
03:54even though there are only two verses,
03:56but actually,
03:57the discussion is in a very long Tafsir book.

05:45the friends of Istiqamah,
05:46also join us.

05:48those who are far,
05:49those who are from Singapore,
05:50are also here today.
05:51Alhamdulillah,
05:52hopefully,
05:53Allah Almighty will facilitate
05:54with the Quran.
05:55We would like to continue
05:56reading two verses,
05:57verse 118
05:59and also,
06:00verse 119.
06:01For the beginning,
06:02ayuh,
06:03we will try to use
06:04taranum sikah.
06:06Can we?
06:07What is taranum?
06:08Sikah.
06:09Sikah.
06:10I seek refuge with Allah
06:11from the accursed Satan.
06:32Until, when the earth is heavy for them
06:41because of what they have been given,
06:44and their souls are heavy for them,
06:59and they think that there is no refuge
07:07from Allah except to Him,
07:19then He will turn to them
07:24and they will repent.
07:28Indeed, Allah is the Accepting of Repentance,
07:36the Merciful.
07:42O you who have believed,
07:49fear Allah and be with those who are truthful.
08:02Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
08:09Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
08:10In verse 118,
08:12Allah Almighty declares
08:13to the three people who were left,
08:16Until, when the earth is heavy for them
08:20because of what they have been given,
08:21and their souls are heavy for them,
08:24and they think that there is no refuge
08:27from Allah except to Him.
08:31So, this verse, ladies and gentlemen,
08:32is actually a hard verse.
08:34It was taught by the Messenger of Allah
08:36to the companions.
08:37وَعَلَى صَلَى صَتِ اللَّهِ نَخُلِّفُ
08:40And to the three people
08:42who were left,
08:43they will repent.
08:44In verse 118 only,
08:47Allah Almighty repeats the word of repentance
08:49three times.
08:51That is why some scholars say,
08:53for example, Sheikh Tantawi says,
08:55because one of these surahs
08:57is called surah Tawbah,
08:58because of the majority of the words.
09:00Many words of repentance are mentioned
09:02in this surah.
09:04In this verse,
09:05only three words of repentance are mentioned.
09:08ثُمَّ تَبَعَ عَلَيْهِمْ
09:09ثُمَّ لِيَتُوبُ
09:10ثُمَّ تَوَّى بُرَّحِمْ
09:12Allah Almighty repeats three times
09:14the word of repentance
09:15in one verse only.
09:17What is the story of these three men?
09:19These three men did not participate
09:22in the battle of Tabuk.
09:23The battle of Tabuk took place
09:25before the battle of Muqtah.
09:28Or before that,
09:30there was the battle
09:31or the opening of Fath-ul-Makkah,
09:33in which this battle,
09:34in the previous verse,
09:36was mentioned as
09:37جَيْشُ الْعُسْرَةِ
09:38or سَاعَةِ الْعُسْرَةِ
09:40i.e. a very difficult situation.
09:42Why was it so difficult?
09:44First, because the weather was very hot.
09:47Those who have experience,
09:48Ustaz, I just came back from Hajj,
09:50the experience was very hot.
09:5250 degrees.
09:5450 degrees,
09:55even if the wind was blowing,
09:56it was getting hotter.
09:57Not getting colder,
09:58but the wind was getting hotter
09:59because it was too windy.
10:00The wind,
10:01if we go inside the tent,
10:02we go out of the tent,
10:04it is indeed hotter outside.
10:06Then,
10:07if we look,
10:08the distance to travel is very far.
10:10Almost 1000 kilometers.
10:13You can imagine,
10:14if today we are in Lembah Kelang,
10:16if we want to go down to Johor,
10:17about 400 kilometers only,
10:20they have to walk 1000 kilometers.
10:23From Johor,
10:24they have to go up to Perlis,
10:25perhaps.
10:26From Singapore,
10:27perhaps,
10:28they have to go up to Perlis,
10:29perhaps,
10:30they have to go down a little
10:31in a very hot season.
10:33And some of the tafsir narrations
10:34mention
10:36one camel
10:37can carry 10 people.
10:39Allah!
10:40It is very difficult.
10:41That is why Allah said,
10:44because the situation is very difficult,
10:46some of them started to feel dizzy.
10:49At that time,
10:51it was also the season of fruits,
10:53starting to ripen.
10:55Some of them
10:57wanted to enjoy the worldly wealth.
10:59Then Allah Almighty
11:00tested them.
11:02Discussing about this matter,
11:04we will continue after this.
11:07Don't go anywhere.

14:04In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
14:06In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
14:08O you who believe!
14:13Fear Allah and be with the truthful.
14:26Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
14:32May Allah bless you.
14:34We meet again in My Quran Time.
14:36Quran Salat and Infah.
14:37Today, we are discussing verses 118 to 119 of Surah Tawbah.
14:42Before the break, we have given the context of how the three people who did not go to war
14:49experienced or were in a comfortable situation.
14:53Because the war was a great war.
14:57In fact, Ka'ab bin Malik, the storyteller,
15:00meaning Ka'ab bin Malik was one of the three who did not participate in this war.
15:05In a long hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim,
15:09he himself narrated how he did not go to war.
15:13This is an experience or a revelation from a living witness
15:17as to how this verse was revealed to him.
15:20One, he said, the journey was very far.
15:23Usually, Rasulullah did not tell where he was going to war.
15:27This is a motivation for the companions.
15:30If they knew they were going to Tabuk,
15:32heading to Syam, it would be very far.
15:35They would be afraid.
15:36They would be demotivated early on.
15:38They would be discouraged early on.
15:40But this time, Rasulullah changed it.
15:42Rasulullah said, we will go to Tabuk
15:45to fight against the Roman army
15:47in the hot season,
15:48while the fruits are being cooked,
15:50with very little food supplies.
15:53Then, among those who did not go to war,
15:57these three were mentioned specifically in this surah.
16:01The first is Ka'ab bin Malik.
16:03Ka'ab bin Malik will tell the story that took place in this surah.
16:07The second is Umayyah.
16:10Or we call him Hilal bin Umayyah.
16:12The third is Murarrah bin Ar-Rabi'
16:14meaning these three did not go to war,
16:18even though these three did have a place in Islam.
16:22We will look at the details of these three groups later
16:26because the first one, Ka'ab bin Malik,
16:28is known as Rasulullah's publicist.
16:31Meaning, if Rasulullah asked for an excuse,
16:33he could just talk about it,
16:35because he was already a publicist
16:36and he was already defending Rasulullah.
16:38If it was someone else, he said,
16:40I can give all kinds of excuses.
16:42But when Rasulullah asked,
16:43he was not able to give an excuse.
16:45He only spoke the truth.
16:47Indeed, he did not go to war
16:49when he was very strong,
16:51when he had food supplies,
16:53compared to the companions who cried
16:55because they were not able to go to war.
16:57Because,
16:58لَا عَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ
17:00A group came,
17:01in the same surah,
17:02a group came,
17:03asked to go to war.
17:04Rasulullah said,
17:05لَا عَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ
17:07I have nothing to give you.
17:08The camels and horses were finished.
17:10They returned,
17:12تَفِي الْدُعَىٰ يُنُوحُم مِنَ الدَّمَقِ
17:14crying because they were not able to go to war.
17:17But Ka'ab bin Malik,
17:18this caused Rasulullah to be asked,
17:21where is Ka'ab bin Malik?
17:23This caused Ka'ab to be touched again
17:25because his name was mentioned by Rasulullah
17:27when he was crushed.
17:29Ka'ab was a senior.
17:31Meaning,
17:32he was the one who joined
17:34Bayat al-Aqabah.
17:36He was the first one to join Bayat al-Aqabah.
17:38He was the second one to join Bayat al-Aqabah.
17:41In all the battles with Rasulullah,
17:43he was the only one to join,
17:44except for Badar,
17:45he did not go.
17:46While the other two,
17:47Hilal bin Umayyah and
17:49Murarrah bin Urabik,
17:51the other two went to Badar.
17:53If you look at it,
17:54the three who did not go,
17:56they were all seniors.
17:58In the battle,
17:59there was Paku.
18:00Meaning,
18:01he went to many battles.
18:02But he did not go to the battle of Tabuk.
18:04Allah Almighty punished
18:05the group of seniors in this verse.
18:08If we,
18:09this is a senior officer,
18:11I am sorry to say,
18:12this is a right officer,
18:14we cannot say that.
18:15Therefore,
18:16look at what is right for you.
18:18The first lesson,
18:19if I want to mention one by one,
18:21the story is quite long.
18:23I am afraid it will be missed.
18:24One of the interesting things is,
18:25Allah Almighty also punished
18:27the group of seniors.
18:29The right officer,
18:30even though they did not go,
18:32or even though they had a service in Islam,
18:34Ka'ab never missed any battle.
18:36Suddenly,
18:37today he made a mistake,
18:39then Allah Almighty punished him
18:41until his mistake was mentioned
18:43in the Quran.
18:44What is the story?
18:45Ka'ab told,
18:46he said,
18:47he was in a comfortable situation.
18:49He said,
18:50in this, he said,
18:56in a situation,
18:57my fruits are being cooked.
18:59The other two,
19:00it was because they were welcoming
19:02their family members
19:03returning from
19:04a foreign country to Madinah.
19:06Then,
19:07they all had a specific reason.
19:09Until Allah Almighty
19:10justified their reason,
19:12but Allah Almighty
19:13still punished them.
19:16While,
19:17if you read the same hadith,
19:1980 other people
19:20who did not go to war,
19:22Rasulullah forgave them all.
19:24Rasulullah said,
19:28I accept your reason.
19:30Hopefully,
19:31Allah Almighty forgives you.
19:33Until,
19:34when Rasulullah returned from Tabuk,
19:36he was called,
19:37or all the people who came
19:39to give the reason,
19:40Rasulullah accepted all.
19:41But when Ka'ab bin Malik came,
19:43Ka'ab bin Malik said,
19:45with other people,
19:46I can give many reasons.
19:48But with Rasulullah,
19:49I can't give any reason.
19:51I only speak the truth.
19:52I can't go to war.
19:54I did this and that.
19:56Until Rasulullah said,
19:58You are the right man.
20:00Wait until Allah Almighty
20:02punishes you.
20:06Until Allah Almighty
20:07punishes you
20:08and the other two
20:09who did not go to war.
20:11So,
20:12we observe here,
20:13Rasulullah accepted the others.
20:14But Rasulullah was punished.
20:16There was wisdom.
20:17Why was he punished?
20:19When Ka'ab bin Malik
20:21was about to leave the mosque,
20:23a man from Bani Salama came.
20:26He was from the Bani Ahli Kuaga.
20:28He said,
20:29You just say the reason.
20:31Allah Almighty,
20:32Rasulullah will give the truth.
20:34Why don't you give the reason?
20:36He said like that.
20:37Then, Ka'ab bin Malik
20:38started to shake.
20:40Then, he said,
20:41Is there anyone else
20:43other than me
20:44who did not go to war?
20:46Then, this man said,
20:47There are two more,
20:48Hilal and Murarah.
20:51Then, he said,
20:52It's okay.
20:53I will stick to my reason.
20:55Until Allah Almighty
20:56punished
20:57that these three
20:59must be boycotted.
21:00No one
21:01from their group
21:03can talk to them.
21:05You can imagine, ladies and gentlemen,
21:07sitting with Rasulullah.
21:08Rasulullah did not want to talk to us.
21:10Allah Almighty,
21:11will punish
21:12those who will be resurrected
21:13on the Day of Judgment.
21:14If Allah Almighty
21:15does not talk to us,
21:16it will be like
21:17we go home
21:18and our mother
21:19does not want to talk to us.
21:20Imagine,
21:21we go home
21:22and the person we love the most,
21:23the person we hope
21:24to help the most,
21:25when we meet him,
21:26he does not want to talk to us.
21:28We are invited
21:29to the palace
21:30by Allah Almighty.
21:31The king said,
21:32Enter the palace.
21:33The king does not want to see us.
21:34The king does not want to talk to us.
21:36On the Day of Judgment,
21:37if Allah Almighty
21:38does not talk to us,
21:39what will happen to us?
21:40At that time,
21:41Qa'bin Malik said,
21:42he felt suffocated
21:43because Rasulullah
21:44did not want to talk to him.
21:46And all the other companions
21:47did not want to talk to them.
21:49On the Day of Judgment,
21:50on the 40th day,
21:52when everyone
21:53had boycotted
21:54these three men,
21:55a man came
21:57from Nabti
21:58or Nibti,
21:59from the king of Rassan
22:00or Rassasanah.
22:02The king of Rassasanah came.
22:04He offered an offer.
22:06When he came,
22:07when Qa'bin Malik
22:09went out to the market,
22:10Hilal and Murarrah
22:11were sitting at home.
22:13Qa'bin Malik went out to the market
22:14to buy his needs.
22:15Suddenly,
22:16he heard a man
22:17looking for Qa'bin Malik.
22:18Where is Qa'bin Malik?
22:19He was shocked
22:20because someone
22:21mentioned his name.
22:22He was so excited
22:23that someone mentioned his name.
22:24Apparently,
22:25he came from a man
22:26from a foreign kingdom
22:28to offer an offer.
22:29He said,
22:30Indeed,
22:31we know
22:32you have been boycotted
22:33by your people.
22:34Come to us,
22:35the king of Rassasanah
22:36with a Christian religion.
22:37We will take care of you.
22:39Qa'bin Malik said,
22:40This is a warning.
22:41In the warning,
22:42the test that we are facing,
22:43there will be a devil
22:45who will disturb us
22:46to turn away
22:47from Allah and His Messenger.
22:48This is the second teaching.
22:50The third one is
22:51how Qa'bin Malik
22:52was firm in the test
22:53or in the punishment
22:54that was given
22:55by Allah to him.
22:57Until on the 40th day,
22:59the messenger of Allah
23:00came to Qa'bin Malik.
23:01At that time,
23:02Qa'bin Malik was excited.
23:03Suddenly,
23:04the messenger of Allah
23:05said,
23:06You should stay away
23:07from your wife.
23:09You should separate
23:10from your wife.
23:11Qa'bin Malik was shocked.
23:12Qa'bin Malik said,
23:13What do you mean?
23:14Do you want me
23:15to divorce my wife?
23:16Then,
23:17the messenger of Allah
23:18said,
23:19No,
23:20just separate.
23:21You can imagine.
23:22Sit alone.
23:23There is no one
23:24talking to us.
23:25Until on the 50th day,
23:26the messenger of Allah
23:27gave freedom
23:28to Qa'bin Malik.
23:29Qa'bin Malik said,
23:30No,
23:31you should stay away
23:32from your wife.
23:33Qa'bin Malik gave freedom
23:34to Qa'bin Malik.
23:35Allah Ta'ala
23:36accepted their repentance.
23:37At that time,
23:38Qa'bin Malik took off his clothes.
23:39It means,
23:40Allah Ta'ala was so happy
23:41and gave the clothes
23:42to the messenger of Allah.
23:43This long story
23:44has a very interesting
23:45teaching.
23:46We will discuss
23:47about it
23:48after this.
23:49Before that,
23:50let us all
23:51pay attention
23:52to the word
23:53of our choice
23:54today,
23:55which is
23:56the word
23:57rahubah.
23:58Rahubah
23:59has a broad meaning.
24:00It is mentioned
24:01in the verse
24:03118.
24:04إِذَا ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَرُضُ بِمَا رَحُوبَتْ
24:07That is,
24:08when
24:09he felt
24:10confined to
24:11that wide land.
24:12Allah Ta'ala
24:13confined him
24:14with the punishment
24:15given to them.
24:16Qa'bin Malik,
24:17Hilal
24:18and also
24:19Murarrah bin Rabi'
24:20Hilal bin Umayyah
24:21were not allowed
24:22to speak
24:23to them.
24:24Allah Ta'ala
24:25gave them
24:26a heavy punishment
24:27for those
24:28who left
24:29their duties
24:30with the Muslims
24:31in a very
24:32horrific way.
24:33Allah Ta'ala
24:34gave us
24:35a lesson.
24:36We will take a break
24:37for a while.

30:27one breath, can you do it?
30:29Or did someone stop and say,
30:30Allah, I can't do it, Ustaz.
30:32Try again, one breath, hold it,
30:34and then read, for example.
30:36O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with those who are truthful.
30:57One, two, start.
30:59O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with those who are truthful.
31:18Allah, you did it.
31:20Alhamdulillah, that was good.
31:22We read that just now,
31:24with the recitation of Mujawwada.
31:26Try saying Mujawwada.
31:28Mujawwada.
31:30Not Mujawwa.
31:32Mujawwada.
31:33If it's Mijawwa, it's good.
31:35It's good, right?
31:37So, that was the recitation in Mujawwada,
31:39or like in a competition.
31:41Let's just share it in this Tajweed entertainment space.
31:43I want to hear the intonation of the voice,
31:45from the mother, the voice exercises,
31:47high, low, breathing.
31:49If my recitation is Muratal,
31:51pay attention, and then follow.
31:53O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with those who are truthful.
32:09Say it again.
32:11O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with those who are truthful.
32:26Alhamdulillah, that's the difference.
32:28Did you get the difference?
32:30The recitation in Mujawwada, and the recitation in Muratal.
32:32If it's recitation in Mujawwada,
32:34it's like a competition, right?
32:36If it's Muratal, like the one we just recited,
32:38the recitation during prayer,
32:41etc.
32:42Alright, pay attention.
32:44O you who have believed, fear Allah.
32:53Go ahead.
32:55O you who have believed, fear Allah.
33:05Alright, the first one,
33:08with the letter H,
33:09at the base of our throat.
33:12Try it.
33:16Okay,
33:19Don't push it to the middle,
33:20so it becomes
33:22There's something like that, right?
33:27That's it.
33:28Right?
33:29Change the letter H,
33:30the letter H with the letter H.
33:31Alright.
33:32After that,
33:33pay attention to the word,
33:35O you who have believed, fear Allah.
33:39Sometimes it's changed with the letter I.
33:41It's an Arabic word.
33:43For example,
33:44O you who have believed, fear Allah.
33:48It's an Arabic word.
33:50Alright, so pay attention.
33:51O you who have believed, fear Allah.
33:54Lower it.
33:55O you who have believed, fear Allah.
34:03It's too strong.
34:05Lower it.
34:09Don't put too much.
34:14Are you an Arab?
34:15Which Arab are you?
34:16Right?
34:17So, be careful.
34:18After that,
34:19for example,
34:20we stop at O you who have believed, fear Allah.
34:22If we want to repeat it,
34:24O you who have believed, fear Allah.
34:25Try it.
34:30Try.
34:34O you who have believed, fear Allah.
34:44Try.
34:45O you who have believed, fear Allah.
34:52MashaAllah.
34:53SubhanAllah.
34:54It's good.
34:55O you who have believed, fear Allah.
34:57Be careful with the word,
34:59O you who have believed, fear Allah.
35:01Try.
35:04Try.
35:15It sounds different.
35:20What is it?
35:24What is it?
35:27The letters?
35:28SubhanAllah.
35:29Let it sound different.
35:30Don't make it sound the same.
35:38It will be a mess.
35:40So, be careful.
35:43Don't change it to kaf.
35:51Kaf as well.
35:52Kaf is at the base of our tongue.
35:54The base.
35:55The tip of the tongue is the base.
35:56Close to our throat.
35:58Try.
36:02Try.
36:07SubhanAllah.
36:08We will try to memorize this verse.
36:10InshaAllah, we will all be able to memorize it.
36:12It's just short.
36:13Pay attention.
36:15O you who have believed, fear Allah.
36:22And be with the truthful.
36:27One, two, start.
36:29O you who have believed, fear Allah.
36:38And be with the truthful.
36:45O you who have believed, fear Allah.
36:53And be with the truthful.
36:59Try.
37:00O you who have believed, fear Allah.
37:09And be with the truthful.
37:15I will recite and then continue.
37:17O you who have believed, fear Allah.
37:27Continue.
37:31Okay.
37:32Alhamdulillah.
37:33That is one of the ways.
37:35When we have memorized it.
37:36When we have memorized it.
37:38On the way home.
37:40In the bus.
37:41I will recite and you continue.
37:43O you who have believed, fear Allah.
37:48Our friend will continue.
37:49And be with the truthful.
37:52Then it's our turn.
37:53Our friend will continue.
37:55O you who have believed, fear Allah.
38:00Continue.
38:01And be with the truthful.
38:02You have to continue.
38:04That is one of our practices.
38:07When we have memorized it.
38:08We have to recite it with our friends.
38:10Then write it down.
38:11Then read it in prayer.
38:15That is one of the techniques.
38:17Hopefully Allah has made it easier.
38:19This is short.
38:20You can memorize it.
38:21Repeat it many times.
38:23Then we will review our recitation.
38:25Then we will write it down and read it in prayer.
38:27If Allah wills it.
38:28Wherever we want to rest for a while.
38:30We will be back after this.

39:47Asalaamualaikum warahmatullohi wabarakatuhu.
40:02Asalaamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu.
40:12Do you remember the hadith that Rasulullah s.a.w. mentioned about Rahimallahu Rajulan?
40:16Rasulullah s.a.w. said that Allah Almighty has blessed a man,
40:19who started to make his bed at night,
40:21and then he woke up his wife.
40:23If his wife is having a hard time waking up,
40:25in the hadith, it is mentioned as Dajjab.
40:27It means that he sprinkled some water on his wife,
40:31so that she would wake up at night.
40:33If it was my father, no.
40:34He would pour the water on a bowl.
40:36It means that it is already half-full.
40:38Half-full of water.
40:39Half-full of water.
40:41If it was Qiyamulail, it means that he could still have hiccups.
40:44Hopefully, he would wake up.
40:46Why?
40:47Rasulullah s.a.w. prayed for the mercy of Allah.
40:49Rasulullah s.a.w. said,
40:50Rahimallahu Rajulan, Allah Almighty has blessed a man,
40:53who started to make his bed at night,
40:55and then he woke up his wife,
40:56and then he woke up his child.
40:57That is why we should pay attention to how Sayyidina Umar,
41:00Sayyidina Abu Hurairah,
41:01the people who sleep in their house,
41:03can pay attention to them.
41:04They are the companions who made their bed at night,
41:06and then he surprised the family members with his strength.
41:09Alhamdulillah.
41:34We meet again in the program of
41:35My Quran Time, Quran Salat and Infaq.
41:38Just a moment ago,
41:40we had a recitation session of our tajweed and hafazan,
41:43together with our great Qari,
41:45Ustaz Tarmizi.
41:46May I, Ustaz?
41:47InshaAllah.
41:48InshaAllah.
41:49Alright.
41:50We had our recitation from verse 118,
41:54about the story of Kha'ab bin Malik,
41:57Hilal bin Umayyah,
41:59and also Murarrah bin Urabi.
42:01This time, in verse 119,
42:03this is the conclusion of the story that happened,
42:08which demanded their repentance.
42:10Finally, Allah Almighty accepted their repentance,
42:13and Allah Almighty called us to be people
42:16who are together with the right people.
42:18Let's read together a little bit of verse 119,
42:23from Surah At-Tawbah.
42:24Hopefully, we can revive the teachings in this verse.
42:28Please proceed, Ustaz.
42:29Thank you, Ustaz.
42:30Prof. Dr. Ahmad Sanusi.
42:32Ladies and gentlemen,
42:33I hand it over to Allah Almighty.
42:35The next verse we would like to recite is verse 119.
42:39We have tried it several times.
42:42Let's try the next recitation.
42:45This verse uses Taranum Sobah.
42:48Can we?
42:49InshaAllah, we will try.
42:50Audhu Billahi minash shaitanir rajim.
43:02Aman.
43:03Uttaqullah wa kunu ma'as sadiqin.
43:13Sadaqallahul Azeem.
43:19Sadaqallahul Azeem.
43:21Verse 119.
43:22Allah Almighty said,
43:23O you who believe!
43:25Be righteous to Allah
43:26and be together with the right people.
43:30Notice how in verse 118,
43:33it talks about three people
43:35who were rejected,
43:37who were denied their repentance
43:39because they did not participate in the battle of Tabuk.
43:43Finally, after 50 days,
43:46they were judged by Allah.
43:48Finally, Allah Almighty accepted their repentance.
43:51Allah Almighty accepted their repentance.
43:55Finally, in verse 119,
43:58Allah Almighty taught us
44:00to be together with the right people.
44:03The story of Ka'ab bin Malik
44:05was to teach us
44:07to be righteous to Allah
44:10and to be together with the right people.
44:12If we look, ladies and gentlemen,
44:14mothers and fathers,
44:16did Ka'ab not go to war
44:19have any effect on the Muslim army?
44:21This is an interesting question for us to discuss.
44:24Because in the battle of Tabuk,
44:27Allah Almighty brought 30,000 Muslim soldiers.
44:31Out of these 30,000,
44:33if Ka'ab alone did not go to war,
44:35or if these three people,
44:37Hilal bin Umayyah and Murarah bin Urabaib,
44:40out of these 30,000,
44:43how many percent?
44:44Ustaz Tirmidhi,
44:46not even 1%.
44:48Not even 1% did not go to war
44:50and did not cause any harm.
44:53But Allah Almighty wanted to teach the believers
44:56to be together with the right people.
44:58Be the right people in front of Rasulullah.
45:01Ka'ab bin Malik, in front of Rasulullah,
45:03could not give any excuse.
45:05Even though his people,
45:07or a man from Bani Salamah,
45:09persuaded him to give any excuse,
45:11Rasulullah would accept it.
45:13In the end, Ka'ab remained with his repentance,
45:16or remained with his standing,
45:18to be righteous to Rasulullah.
45:20That is why in verse 119,
45:22Allah Almighty said,
45:24Indeed, you are with the right people,
45:27willing to go to great lengths
45:29in such a long journey.
45:31In another narration,
45:33it is said that their food supplies were exhausted,
45:37so they ate only dates.
45:39Dates means,
45:41they breathed in little by little,
45:43then they drank water.
45:44You can imagine,
45:45a journey of three days, three months,
45:48because their journey started from Rajab,
45:50and they returned in the month of Ramadan,
45:52they walked for three months,
45:54in the hot season,
45:55a very long journey,
45:5710 people,
45:59one camel,
46:00was a very difficult journey.
46:02This story also happened to
46:04the operation led by Abu Ubaidah,
46:07if anyone has ever heard of the fish hadith.
46:09The fish hadith is quite extraordinary,
46:11because Abu Ubaidah said,
46:13the dates that Rasulullah gave,
46:15were only a piece of it,
46:17a piece of plastic,
46:18and he brought a battalion
46:21or a group of Muslim soldiers,
46:23and in the end,
46:24they ran out of food.
46:26It is said by Allah,
46:27they found a very large fish.
46:29This hadith is quite interesting,
46:31but we didn't have time to discuss it.
46:33Because,
46:34when they wanted to pass by the fish,
46:38a camel could pass under the bones of the fish.
46:41This hadith is quite interesting.
46:43Imagine,
46:44the fish that was caught,
46:45was a very large fish,
46:47so that when they returned to Madinah,
46:50they could bring their supplies,
46:52and when Rasulullah asked them,
46:54Rasulullah said,
46:55is there anything for us?
46:57This hadith is very interesting to discuss,
47:00but I want to tell you,
47:01the journey was very long,
47:02so that they only ate dates,
47:04not enough,
47:05just like the battle of Tabuk.
47:06There are many important teachings in this case.
47:08The first one,
47:09we see,
47:10we must be true to Allah and His Messenger.
47:12The second one,
47:13the senior officers,
47:14the officers on the right,
47:16these senior officers,
47:17they must not commit a mistake.
47:19They can be punished for committing a mistake.
47:21We have talked about the hadith of Rarif.
47:23Rarif is a priest,
47:25who has been worshipping for 30 or 70 years,
47:29but in the end,
47:30he was seduced by a woman,
47:32and he became a slave,
47:33and ended his life,
47:34but he was saved by Rarif.
47:36Rarif is the bread,
47:37that was given to the people in the mosque.
47:40Even though,
47:41the mistake was a big one,
47:43in the end,
47:44Allah Almighty forgave him,
47:45accepted his repentance with the bread,
47:47because he had contributed to the poor people.
47:50This means,
47:51the senior officers,
47:52the officers on the right,
47:53and so on,
47:54can be punished for their mistakes,
47:56but we must immediately repent to Allah Almighty.
48:00The third teaching,
48:01from the story of Ka'b bin Malik,
48:03is,
48:04do not be stubborn.
48:05In the story of Ka'b bin Malik,
48:07he was actually very stubborn.
48:09He said,
48:10I have seen,
48:11all the soldiers have left.
48:12But,
48:13I will relax first.
48:14So,
48:15he was able to chase them.
48:16But,
48:17in the end,
48:18all of them left,
48:19until he felt lonely,
48:20because Madinah was empty.
48:21He said,
48:22there were only two groups left in Madinah.
48:23One group was a group of hypocrites,
48:25who looked like hypocrites.
48:26He said,
48:27the other group was a group of people,
48:29who were in need,
48:30who were in need.
48:31Sick,
48:32disabled,
48:33old,
48:34children.
48:35So,
48:36he started to feel guilty.
48:37When he felt guilty,
48:38he was still stubborn,
48:39because Abu Khaythamah,
48:40one of the companions who was left,
48:42he went to chase Rasulullah,
48:44even though he was late,
48:45but,
48:46at least,
48:47the people of Kelantan said,
48:48better late than never.
48:49Am I right?
48:50So,
48:51better late than never,
48:52he was able to chase them.
48:53But,
48:54he was stubborn.
48:56And,
48:57that is the lesson,
48:58that we can learn,
48:59from our session today.
49:00It is time to praise us, Ustaz.
49:02We don't have time to talk much more.
49:04Hopefully,
49:05Allah Almighty,
49:06will bless our lesson today.
49:07We end with the recitation of prayer,
49:09which was guided by Ustaz Tanu Mijjah.
49:11Please, Ustaz.
49:12Thank you, Ustaz.
49:14A'udhu Billahi Minash Shaitanir Rajeem.
