00:00Hello, good morning. It's a wetter picture for many today compared to yesterday with
00:05some wet and windy weather already having pushed into parts of the UK. We have some
00:10heavy persistent rain across this area of England, particularly towards the east northeast.
00:14Here we're likely to see some high rainfall totals through the day, perhaps 30 to 50 millimetres.
00:19As a result of warnings issued because we could see some disruption to travel and some
00:24localised flooding too. Elsewhere across many parts of the UK there will be some sunny breaks
00:29but also a fair few showers and particularly in the south I'm expecting some of these showers
00:34to be quite hefty, some rumbles of thunder are possible. Further north across parts of
00:38Scotland there will be some showery rain through the morning but that will gradually clear
00:42away and then it's going to turn drier with some bright sunny skies particularly towards
00:46the north of Scotland though watch out for some showers across Orkney and Shetland. There
00:51is also going to be a swathe of wet weather in the southwest later this afternoon but
00:55looking at temperatures they're near normal for the time of year, perhaps a touchdown
00:58compared to Monday. That's why the wet weather I just mentioned will push its way eastwards
01:04as we go through the end of the day and it is going to be quite heavy overnight particularly
01:08across southern counties of England, perhaps Wales too. Otherwise we'll also end up with
01:13low pressure out in the North Sea and that's going to drag in easterly winds bringing increasing
01:17amounts of cloud and rain to eastern parts of Scotland. Further west for western Scotland,
01:22Northern Ireland, parts of northwest England, Wales and southwest England will have some
01:26clear skies and under those clear skies it's going to turn a little chilly, chillier than
01:30last night for sure with more places dropping into single figures. Wednesday then we get
01:36off to a wet start in the southeast, some heavy rain here but that should clear away
01:39through the morning. Otherwise though we do continue with the cloudy wet theme across
01:44eastern parts of Scotland, perhaps northeast England too and remember it's this area which
01:49really saw the heaviest rain in association with Storm Barbet so any rain, although it
01:54doesn't look too heavy, is going to make any ongoing issues worse here. Elsewhere there
01:59will be a drier spell, something even brighter for a time but more wet weather waiting to
02:04push its way in from the west as we go later on in the day. Temperatures similar to what
02:08we've seen recently really highs around 15-16 Celsius towards the south. As we look through
02:14the rest of the week and it is going to be quite an unsettled picture, low pressure never
02:17too far away and so we are going to see some strong winds at times and some further heavy
02:22rain. As a result we may need to issue some more warnings so it is definitely worth keeping
02:27up to date with the forecast wherever you are, across our social media, our website
02:31and our app. I'll see you later, bye bye.
