00:03I want you all down.
00:05We're having a girl!
00:07I found out that I was having a girl,
00:09and I instantly got emotional.
00:11Like, I genuinely just wanted a boy so that I could be done.
00:15We're gonna talk about the actual event
00:17at Lincoln King High School.
00:19It's gonna be a wonderful event.
00:21I'm gonna have a few guys actually get to speak to the youth.
00:24What'd I miss?
00:26A little man's movement activity.
00:28Happy birthday, baby.
00:30I don't know anybody who fights as hard as you.
00:32It's time for me to fight.
00:34There you go.
00:36Oh, yeah!
00:38Whoo!
00:40I don't understand why I'm talking to the two stooges.
00:43You're not disrespectful.
00:45It is disrespectful.
00:47I'm done. I'm not doing this.
00:49Have you heard anything about the birthday?
00:51I did.
00:53My friend was, like, she spent a lot of time talking about you.
00:57Stop telling people negative things about me that are not true.
01:01And what's that?
01:03Your birthday party, you talked about me.
01:05So since you want to talk about all the stuff in my closet,
01:08you can take this trash,
01:10you can take this trash,
01:12you can take this trash.
01:14MUSIC
01:45MUSIC
01:52You're a liar!
01:54You trash just like that stuff on the floor.
01:56You paid for it.
01:58So here's your trash bag.
02:00You can take that, honey.
02:02You're a trash bag.
02:04You invited me to dinner.
02:06Throwing stuff on the floor like a hood baby.
02:08I'll show you a hood baby.
02:10You lost your mind.
02:12Stop being disrespectful.
02:14That's ignorant.
02:16That's not ignorant.
02:18That's trash.
02:20This is ignorant.
02:22It does not take a lawyer to see
02:24that Kimberly is not making any sense right now.
02:26Foolish.
02:28You're foolish.
02:30I step down. No further questions.
02:32I invited you to sit down.
02:34Girl, please.
02:36So that I can talk because you never allow me to.
02:38And here you go again doing the same thing.
02:40Like you ain't got no home training.
02:42Like you know better.
02:44Girl, please.
02:46You cannot make me feel little.
02:48So you can stop with all the little jabs.
02:50I'm not trying to make you feel little.
02:52Stop because it makes you look insecure.
02:54You don't make me feel bad when you try to jab at me,
02:56when you call me trash, and when you throw stuff.
02:58That shows your character, not mine, baby.
03:00You're talking about my whole closet is full of KBS.
03:02I supported you.
03:04So don't try to bash the support that I gave you.
03:06Because you try to belittle me and say
03:08what you do.
03:10But I was belittled when your friends called me mediocre.
03:12Me and my husband mediocre for having an ex at the time.
03:14Didn't I do that?
03:16Honey, Steve Urkel is not here.
03:18And this is not an episode of Family Matters.
03:20Christina doesn't take anything
03:22anybody is saying to her seriously
03:24ever when it's holding her
03:26feet to the fire.
03:28You sat at a table and you talked about me at your birthday.
03:30And I'm trying to figure out why.
03:32You felt like my apology
03:34wasn't genuine.
03:36Everything we talked about at brunch
03:38with Latoya and Kobe wasn't genuine.
03:40And I want to understand why.
03:42You said you loved everybody around the table.
03:44You and I had a moment.
03:46I truly did care for you as my friend.
03:48For me, it feels like
03:50sometimes you can be manipulative
03:52in terms of the things that you say.
03:54I don't have a trust for you. I just don't.
03:56You know, I just feel very
03:58disrespected by you.
04:00I feel disrespected as well. I do.
04:02I feel like we just are going in circles.
04:04We are going in circles.
04:06I don't know what it will take or
04:08if there's anything at this point
04:10because it's so
04:12deep. There's so many layers.
04:14I'm not looking to be best friends.
04:16I'm looking for us to be able to coexist
04:18because we share several mutual friends.
04:20Not just Latoya.
04:22We can definitely be in the same space.
04:24I'm good with that.
04:26Please be respectful. I'll be respectful
04:28of you.
04:30Let's just keep it like that.
04:32I'm going to stay here and finish my drink.
04:34I'm going to go ahead and go.
04:36I'll see you around, I guess.
04:58Sound check. Can you hear me?
05:00I can hear you. With everything going
05:02on with Kimberly, I still
05:04need to get it in as an artist.
05:06So today we are at Star
05:08Factory recording a demo
05:10with my brother Jason and
05:12Keith John, who is a well-known
05:14producer. I'm going to play
05:16the demo. Maybe that'll help you.
05:18I am ecstatic
05:20about my brother Jason managing
05:22me and he landed
05:24an opportunity for me to sing
05:26on a song that would be played
05:28at the Pistons game.
05:30Two, three.
05:32They be flossing like I do.
05:34Ah, I messed it up.
05:36Okay.
05:38My bad.
05:40I be flossing like I do.
05:42They be trying to keep up.
05:46I feel a little closed
05:48in my throat.
05:50I'm feeling a little rusty after all these years.
05:52I have not been
05:54consistently in
05:56any vocal or
05:58performance training.
06:00And now I'm in here trying to record
06:02a demo. I'm feeling a little
06:04insecure about this. Next part, ready?
06:06I'm not asking to tell
06:08you what it's gonna be.
06:10Time to wake up everybody sleeping
06:12on me. I don't think I have that.
06:14Sleeping on me. I feel like
06:16I sound horrible.
06:18Is Brandon here? I don't think he is,
06:20nah.
06:22Come on, Chrissy.
06:24This is feeling like a lot of
06:26pressure. And I need Brandon.
06:28Why do you feel like you need Brandon to do this?
06:30Because I haven't been vocal
06:32training and I just don't
06:34feel ready for this. And this is why I wanted
06:36to make sure that I was
06:38aligned with everything that I needed to be doing
06:40before I got in the studio.
06:42Because I didn't want to get in here and not feel confident
06:44in myself. I don't feel confident
06:46in my vocal ability and I'm laying it down
06:48on the recording.
06:50Brandon has been putting
06:52in a lot of work into our marriage
06:54but he knows how much
06:56the studio session meant to me today.
06:58So I'm really disappointed
07:00that he's not here for me.
07:02When it comes to my career, it's
07:04taking two steps forward and two steps back.
07:06Before we go
07:08much further than this,
07:10how do you really, really
07:12feel? I mean, I'm not
07:14gonna hold you up. I'm a little nervous.
07:16Don't be nervous.
07:18Why are you nervous? I don't know
07:20I feel rusty. I don't want to
07:22come and crash the party
07:24with cat vocals.
07:28No, I think you'll be good.
07:30Obviously, you just gotta work harder.
07:32You gotta realize
07:34people see you as
07:36better than you see yourself.
07:38I do have confidence that you can do it.
07:40If you do start,
07:42we'll get you to the promised land.
07:44Music is what we do.
07:46We were born into it.
07:48Mom and dad dropped albums all the time.
07:50I come from a very
07:52musical family. Both of my parents,
07:54James and Kathy Bowman,
07:56are vocalists and songwriters.
07:58My mom specifically has
08:00sang and recorded with Andre Crouch
08:02and she had a song that made
08:04major waves in the gospel industry,
08:06I Can Feel His Presence. Their daughter
08:08is following in their footsteps.
08:10They were very good parents.
08:12They kept us grounded.
08:14Not that it was a perfect marriage.
08:16We saw them have ups and downs,
08:18but they've always
08:20persevered and pushed.
08:22We've had struggles
08:24but we came out on top.
08:28My marriage with Brandon,
08:30when he wants to give up so easily,
08:32I don't understand that.
08:34For me,
08:36I'm conditioned to
08:38fight and to stick it out and figure out
08:40the next steps.
08:42I struggle with that.
08:44Do I break
08:46this chain of
08:48trying to hold everything
08:50together? Is that what I've been called
08:52to do?
08:54You definitely have
08:56the right to
08:58go the divorce route,
09:00but that's the easy way.
09:04You got the tools.
09:06She's the leader.
09:08This is what I struggle with. I feel like he's the leader.
09:10He should set the tone.
09:12When I see separation, I'd be like,
09:14that's one foot out of the dope.
09:16The way I look at it is like,
09:18no, don't separate.
09:20I'm tired of that.
09:22In my head,
09:26do your part. He'll do his part. I believe that.
09:30That's good advice.
09:32Although things are getting so much better
09:34between Brandon and I, we were
09:36raised in a family
09:38where we fight for
09:40each other, we fight for marriage.
09:42I feel like sometimes when you
09:44exhaust all your options,
09:46you got to try something new.
09:48Us men, we kind of feel like
09:50we want to be the man.
09:52If nobody look at us
09:54as the man, it need to be our wife
09:56and our kids that's going to look
09:58at us and look up to us.
10:00I know it may be hard
10:02sometimes because things aren't lining
10:04up, but if you stay faithful to that,
10:06I think that
10:08you'll get a lot of good response.
10:12Coming up on Love and Marriage Detroit.
10:14A lot of stuff been
10:16bubbling recently.
10:18Feel what you need to feel. Nobody
10:20can decide for you
10:22when your grief period is over.
10:24A little bit of
10:26gender disappointment.
10:28Two girls.
10:30Two heads to comb.
10:32Two attitudes.
10:34Yeah.
10:36I like having a sister.
10:42Light it up.
10:44Let it burn.
10:46Let it blaze.
10:48All the skies are blue.
10:50Light it up.
10:52It's cold out here today, bro.
10:54It's cold.
10:56Been making up for all those warm days.
10:58Jesus, there's no snow, so I can't complain.
11:00Yeah, I know.
11:02I'm excited about
11:04spending time with my Aunt Cheryl today.
11:06My beautiful Aunt Cheryl is on my
11:08father's side. It is his younger
11:10sister. We've recently had
11:12many deaths in our family.
11:14My uncle on my mom's side.
11:16My father, my grandmother.
11:18The past five years have been rough,
11:20so I try to make sure I check on her often.
11:22I just wanted to kick it with you, Auntie.
11:24A lot of stuff been
11:26bubbling recently with
11:28my grandmother,
11:30Gigi's
11:32one of her brothers passed.
11:34So my great-uncle passed.
11:36I know you're still dealing with your father's passing.
11:38You know, Granddad.
11:40It's been a journey.
11:42And we're all still recovering from Grandma and my Daddy.
11:44Like, Lord, Jesus.
11:46Those are two
11:48of the closest people to me.
11:50Mm-hmm.
11:52It's my mom and your dad.
11:54Every day is hard.
11:56You just gotta get up and fight.
11:58I mean, it is.
12:00That's why I be real careful
12:02with the boys when they come,
12:04because they were close to them.
12:06I just be trying to pay attention
12:08and making sure they're all right.
12:10Especially when I bring them up.
12:12I just talk about certain old times
12:14and stuff like that.
12:16Death and loss is tough for adults.
12:18Mm-hmm.
12:20So I can't imagine
12:22what it's like in these days and times
12:24for young people.
12:26So sometimes I think about
12:28watching the boys
12:30just to make sure they're okay,
12:32because we process things differently.
12:34One of the things that I carry with me,
12:36feel what you need to feel
12:38when you need to feel it.
12:40Nobody can decide for you
12:42when your
12:44grief period is over.
12:46My father
12:48led by example in the community.
12:50Him and his partners created
12:52Youthville Detroit, which serviced kids
12:54all the way to, like, 19 years old.
12:56It really transformed lives,
12:58because they were able to hit on
13:00academics, with the arts,
13:02with technology,
13:04and it really changed
13:06the game in Detroit
13:08and helped a lot of kids go into a new direction.
13:10During my rebuilding time
13:12with my dad, I mean, you know you were there.
13:14When I was at Michigan State,
13:16you know, my first year, like,
13:18I wrote the curriculum for Youthville,
13:20and just
13:22bringing TV and film and music
13:24and technology there,
13:26that was groundbreaking, and that was like
13:28the blueprint, and created
13:30man's movement. That's where
13:32a lot of it, you know,
13:34I got my structure
13:36from doing that early. When I think about
13:38that, you know, I miss
13:40him. I miss dad,
13:42I miss grandma. That's why
13:44I don't even like to play with
13:46people I love or that close,
13:48like, because you never know how long they're gonna
13:50be around.
13:52Also, like,
13:54you'll battle with cancer.
13:56Like, what you battled, what you went through.
13:58You know, I didn't know
14:00if I was gonna lose you too.
14:02Like, real talk.
14:04I just lost my dad,
14:06and then you're fighting for your
14:08life, and I thank
14:10God that you here.
14:12And sometimes people don't get it
14:14when I say I'm grateful
14:16for every single day.
14:18I appreciate the fact that
14:20God spared me.
14:22That just means my work isn't done
14:24yet. That was hard.
14:26I know. Like,
14:28you're on another level.
14:30You know what gives me strength
14:32and I hope
14:34it will
14:36do the same for you is just
14:38the incredible legacy
14:40that your dad left.
14:42I mean, what they did with Youthfield
14:44was something that had not happened.
14:46I haven't seen it replicated.
14:48And just the commitment,
14:50you know, all the stars align.
14:52The right people in the right place
14:54with the same commitment to the
14:56community and to young people.
14:58If you're looking at doing
15:00something similar, even a piece of
15:02that, what an incredible legacy.
15:04Yeah. Yeah, I applaud you
15:06for that.
15:08To hear my Aunt Cheryl talk about
15:10the things her brother
15:12did, my father, because he did
15:14a lot in youth development, and to
15:16see me taking it to the next level and the fact
15:18that she's proud of me,
15:20that's a heart changer right there. That's
15:22my girl. The Man's Movement
15:24Mentorship Program, we're servicing
15:26probably like 75 young men
15:28every Monday of the week.
15:30We tapped in with these kids. We're doing the work.
15:32This next level stuff, we're doing.
15:34It is. It is.
15:36And you know, the thing that comes
15:38to mind for me is
15:40we have a calling
15:42on our life and our family
15:44and that's service.
15:46You know, and so I don't know
15:48how to do it any other way.
15:50I don't know how to do it any differently.
15:52Coming up...
15:54So, did you have any clue
15:56I was getting you a new ring?
15:58No. It's really nice.
16:00It's very beautiful, but...
16:02It's very beautiful, but...
16:32Hey, dude!
16:34Hey!
16:36What's up, y'all? What's going on? Y'all good?
16:38Yeah.
16:40Y'all ready to get this session going?
16:42Let's get it cracking.
16:44How's the vocal coach,
16:46the artist whisperer, doing?
16:48We're good.
16:50Yeah, you know we gotta finish this song, right?
16:52Okay. Let's do it.
16:54I feel like when we are together, when we put our heads together,
16:56magical things happen.
16:58I can't wait for the Pistons to hear this.
17:00Definitely means a lot for you to be here with me.
17:02It just shows me
17:04that he really has an interest
17:06in my career,
17:08and that he's not all talk right now.
17:10Last time, she was kind of struggling with you not being here.
17:12You needed Daddy.
17:14I did. I mean, I think it's because
17:16I just felt like I needed you there
17:18to help vocal produce me.
17:20Brandon's not always gonna be there,
17:22so you gotta build that muscle memory now.
17:24Are you coming in with me?
17:26Okay.
17:28We'll make it work.
17:30All right, let's get it.
17:32Sometimes when you work with your significant other,
17:34the roles kind of can get crossed
17:36and blurred.
17:38Of course, I want to get these vocals right,
17:40but more importantly,
17:42I want to get this marriage right.
17:44So hopefully Christina sees me stepping up today
17:46as a coach and as a husband.
17:48You're kind of fun.
17:50Thanks.
17:52Go for it.
17:54So are you.
17:56We are in the room.
17:58You got padding, too.
18:00Oh, Lord.
18:02All right, here we go.
18:08No.
18:10Run it back.
18:14You're cheating.
18:16I'm high notes.
18:18Don't bring it down here.
18:20Get it up here.
18:22Say daughters
18:24like you're from Detroit.
18:26You saying daughters like you're from Boston or something.
18:28And my daughters...
18:30I'm from Buffalo.
18:32You've been here 13 years, 12 years.
18:34You're from Detroit.
18:36You gotta represent the D.
18:38I thought I did.
18:40Yeah, that's how them daughters got here.
18:42That New York accent coming in thick.
18:46Let's go to the next one.
18:48You want to go to the next one?
18:50I'm asking, I'll tell you what it's gonna be.
18:52Mm-mm, do it again.
18:54I need you to activate all your singing muscles
18:56before the first sound comes out your mouth.
18:58Time to wake up, everybody sleeping on me.
19:00On, on, on me.
19:02Yeah, keep this bridge intact when you sing.
19:04On me.
19:06I want big aca.
19:08Time, time, time.
19:10Time to wake...
19:12Mm-mm.
19:14Pronounce it forward.
19:16Look, look.
19:18Pronounce it forward.
19:20No, don't dance.
19:22I'm not asking, I'll tell you what it's gonna be.
19:24Time to wake up, everybody sleeping on me.
19:26There you go.
19:28There you go.
19:30There you go.
19:32Good job.
19:34The vocals have been coming along.
19:36The vocals are doing much better than they were.
19:38She's doing her thing.
19:40I think I'm doing better because you're here with me.
19:44Hey.
19:46How do we do?
19:48That's what I'm talking about, bruh.
19:50Yes, sir.
19:52How did I do?
19:54You sound great.
19:56I need to make sure that he's here all the time.
19:58You know, we're gonna train her up
20:00so that she can fly on her own, you know what I'm saying?
20:02I'm gonna let y'all chop it up.
20:04Okay.
20:06Yes, sir.
20:08Thank you for being up in here with me.
20:10No problem.
20:12I have way more confidence with you in there.
20:14I got you.
20:16I was about to ask you something.
20:18What?
20:20Did Anthony ever say anything about me being on his podcast, too?
20:22He wants me to come and talk about my music
20:24and what's going on with my music career.
20:26Oh, well, that's great because I am the
20:28president, CEO of Christina Bowman Smith.
20:30Artist. Perfect.
20:32I guess he'll be surprised when I walk in with you
20:34because there's no way you're doing Anthony's podcast
20:36without me.
20:38I respect it. I mean, I did tell him, like,
20:40you know, as long as it's okay with you
20:42because, you know,
20:44I follow your lead. I ride with you.
20:46You know, the way he talked to Chelsea,
20:48I don't know. I'm not comfortable
20:50with just you and him on a podcast.
20:52You know, because when them cameras turn on
20:54and that microphone turns on,
20:56I don't know what kind of Anthony's gonna show up.
20:58So I'll be there.
21:00Well, speaking of Chelsea,
21:02she is going to now
21:04be head of my marketing.
21:06Okay.
21:08What do you think about that?
21:10Chelsea knows what she's doing.
21:12Clearly she's a bulldog, so
21:14she makes things happen. I'm with that.
21:16She might be coming with us if we
21:18visit that podcast
21:20because she's on the team.
21:22I mean, I can't leave my team without her.
21:24You definitely have to be there.
21:26There's no way I'm gonna let Chelsea and
21:28Anthony be in the same room.
21:30Maybe they can come to a good middle ground.
21:32I don't know.
21:34I don't know.
21:36Putting Chelsea and Anthony in the same room
21:38is like lighting a fire
21:40in a fireworks store.
21:42You think so?
21:44All it's gonna take
21:46is one sly comment and
21:48this thing is gonna go off the rails.
21:50It's gonna be fine.
21:52It's gonna be a great
21:54podcast experience.
21:56Let's have some faith, babe.
21:58Did you have any clue
22:00I was getting you a new ring?
22:02No. I like it.
22:04I like it. I can't stop touching it and looking at it.
22:06It's really nice.
22:08It's very beautiful.
22:10I do need to get it sized.
22:12But I was definitely surprised to get an
22:14upgrade.
22:16I want to officially
22:18ask you back
22:20to our residence.
22:22I want you to come home.
22:24Bet.
22:26I'm there. Thank you, baby.
22:28Why you giving me that cheesy smile?
22:30I mean, you know what I'm saying?
22:32Thank you. I appreciate that.
22:34You're so corny.
22:36Corny, corny.
22:40It's official.
22:42I'm back. You're back.
22:44Daddy's home.
22:46Let's get into it.
22:48Okay.
22:50I'm home, girl.
22:54Coming up...
22:56We held the babies for 14 weeks.
22:58I remember that.
23:00And I lost the babies.
23:02I don't want to come across
23:04as this person who's just angry
23:06that I'm having another
23:08girl. That's not my intention.
23:24And Carla
23:26is soon to arrive.
23:28Cut.
23:30That might be her right there.
23:32Go to bed.
23:34Hey, nephew. How you doing?
23:36I'm good. Hi, Auntie Mommy.
23:38Hi, baby.
23:40I was just telling her she don't come over
23:42because you know she don't like our dog.
23:44Hi, baby.
23:46Here.
23:48This is for Kendall.
23:50Remember I showed you the diffuser?
23:52And then put some water and some lavender
23:54in it.
23:56This is to help her go to sleep.
23:58We're gonna see.
24:00So we have...
24:02Yes.
24:04We do have some tea.
24:06I didn't have to do that. Just some water was fine.
24:08Anyway, how are you?
24:10Baby girl.
24:12Baby, baby girl.
24:14I was dealing with
24:16a little bit of gender disappointment.
24:18I really wanted a boy
24:20so that could be done.
24:22But it's not about you. It's not.
24:24It's not about me.
24:26One thing I will say, you and my mom
24:28are twins and y'all grew up with our girls.
24:30I can't relate.
24:32Right. And everyone tells me
24:34there's nothing like having a sister.
24:36It's nothing like it.
24:38I comment on Carla, Auntie Mommy, affectionately
24:40and so her words of wisdom
24:42are so encouraging to me
24:44and I don't take them lightly.
24:46Her and my mom obviously are roommates
24:48and they are super close
24:50and their bond is
24:52irreplaceable.
24:54But two girls,
24:56two heads to comb,
24:58two attitudes.
25:00Yeah, it's nothing like
25:02having a sister.
25:04My relationship with Kim is totally
25:06different than my relationship with Kavonda.
25:08My relationship with Carlene
25:10is totally different than what it is with Kim.
25:12You guys
25:14shared the womb together.
25:16I feel like
25:18y'all are
25:20differently connected.
25:22I think that's a good way of putting it.
25:26You know I have no children.
25:28Me and Steve,
25:30we went through IVF.
25:32Went through IVF the first time
25:34and I overstimulated
25:36and lost,
25:38conceived
25:40and then overstimulated.
25:42That means after you keep
25:44injecting yourself with the hormones,
25:46my body kept producing it
25:48and so the babies didn't.
25:50They were not viable
25:52to stay healthy.
25:54So they were twins
25:56and there was
25:58and so that was the
26:00first time this doctor
26:02came back and said, you know what, I think
26:04I took you a little bit fast, I'm going to take you
26:06another way, slower,
26:08on a different protocol and
26:10conceived.
26:12Conceived because we're very fertile
26:14but we held the babies
26:16for 14 weeks.
26:18And then I lost the babies.
26:22I lost the babies
26:24and so it has
26:26taken me years
26:28to be
26:30okay with that.
26:32Never knew why.
26:34Never knew why.
26:36Didn't know what happened. They didn't know what happened.
26:38They said we did everything right.
26:40Two sets of twins?
26:42Two sets of twins.
26:44After
26:46I was angry
26:48at God for a long time
26:50because I wanted to know
26:52why me. I did everything
26:54right. I waited.
26:56I got married
26:58and I wanted
27:00children.
27:02Then
27:04my husband, your dad
27:06appointed him as the youth pastor.
27:08You remember?
27:10He was back there about two years.
27:12He was back there for two years
27:14working in the youth ministry
27:16and I refused. I was like, I'm somebody else's
27:18kids. I ain't doing that.
27:20But then
27:22I went
27:24back there.
27:26And slowly but surely
27:28every
27:30last one of those children
27:32became mine.
27:34And it started
27:36healing
27:38the hurt, healing the
27:40disappointment, healing the
27:42wound.
27:44God knows what he was doing.
27:46It took me a long time
27:48to get to that place.
27:50Yeah.
27:52That
27:54just wasn't what God wanted for me.
27:58Yeah, everybody
28:00has a different struggle
28:02when it comes to conceiving.
28:04And that's what I think
28:06I beat myself up about
28:08because I don't want to come
28:10across as this person who's just angry
28:12that I'm having
28:14another girl. That's not my intention.
28:16And I'm sensitive
28:18to that. I'm very sensitive to that.
28:20I had miscarriage
28:22the first time.
28:24Russell and I
28:26weren't even trying.
28:28And I was
28:30down bad.
28:32Down bad.
28:34I was just really beating myself up
28:36and, you know, am I
28:38able to have children? Am I able
28:40to conceive? Because so many women have issues.
28:42And
28:44I just said, you know, I'm not even going to read
28:46into it, you know. And then again,
28:48boom, got pregnant with Kendall.
28:50And so
28:52all of that, you know,
28:54those thoughts that I was
28:56having, they left me.
28:58But I'm still sensitive to
29:00that because I know you've gone through
29:02that journey and I know others have gone through
29:04that journey. It's just, it's touching.
29:06And so I never want to come across as a person
29:08who is disappointed in what
29:10I've been blessed with.
29:12But you gotta get to a point now, and it's time
29:14to get to that point where you gotta be like,
29:16okay God, what are your plans for me?
29:18That's good. God doesn't
29:20create mistakes.
29:22So since he doesn't create mistakes,
29:24so she's
29:26purposed. Yeah.
29:28She's purposed. So now your prayer
29:30is, okay God, you're blessing me
29:32with this baby. How can I help shape
29:34her purpose? What you've created her
29:36for.
29:38And let me
29:40love on her.
29:42You'll probably end up looking like you because I know
29:44Kendall looks just like
29:46Russell.
29:48Do we got a name yet? Can I call
29:50her a name? No, that's
29:52not, we haven't officially decided
29:54Russell. Well, I said potentially
29:56Rusella. She shot that down. No, that's
29:58a no. I'm shooting it down.
30:00Coming up. We're gonna set up
30:02over here near the DJ. Today
30:04people is Man's Movement 2.0.
30:06Let's walk the real ones out. Speaking
30:08of that, where be at? I just texted
30:10him asking where you at. No response. Nope.
30:12Music
30:28So where
30:30I'm gonna end up setting the table at?
30:32We're gonna set up over here near the DJ.
30:34Today people is
30:36Man's Movement 2.0
30:38with Lincoln King High School
30:40right here in Detroit. You know I appreciate
30:42you brother. Fill in.
30:44Fill in. Fill in.
30:46Thank you. Fill in. This man's movement
30:48is bringing some of the most
30:50influential people in Detroit
30:52to influence these kids
30:54to make a better life for themselves.
30:56And so the
30:58man's movement pulls
31:00from my father's heart.
31:02I took the torch from him.
31:04And
31:06the work that our family has
31:08done and the work that our family
31:10is doing.
31:12It blesses thousands of families.
31:14Yeah!
31:16What's up brother?
31:18You good? I'm good man.
31:20I see you got the all stars here man. What's up man?
31:22Music
31:24It's kind of weird to me
31:26that Anthony would ask me to speak at the first
31:28man's movement and then now the second
31:30man's movement I don't even know about.
31:32I want to get more involved in the community.
31:34I told the guys that. Don't know why I didn't get
31:36the call, but I'm going to put that
31:38aside and still come through
31:40and help out any way I can.
31:42This is Mr. Russell Harris.
31:44We call him Pastor Russ.
31:46He going to open up in prayer for us.
31:48Gracious and heavenly father, we ask that
31:50father you continue to uplift this work.
31:52Uplift these babies father. Give them
31:54the desires of their heart father. Let everything
31:56they touch turn to gold. In your name
31:58Amen. Amen.
32:00So, I just want
32:02y'all to know we also got a mentorship
32:04group here, which is the man's movement.
32:06Then I'll introduce the rest of the guys.
32:08We brought out Detroit Heavy
32:10Hitters. They're all working in
32:12entertainment business. They're entrepreneurs.
32:14Work for TV newscasts.
32:16And every last one of them
32:18they love to give back
32:20in the community. How you doing? I'm
32:22Mikey Eckstein. I started managing
32:24a group called D12
32:26with Eminem back in the day.
32:28We have Mikey Estein.
32:30He has been a manager for
32:32D12, Eminem, Kid Rock.
32:34Mikey inspires the children.
32:36He inspires everybody.
32:38And he's opened a lot of doors.
32:40And I have a special guest for you guys,
32:42Miss Michigan.
32:44Also, I invited Miss Michigan to come
32:46speak with the kids today. She's
32:48overcome so much adversity.
32:50So, I'm Alexis Fagan.
32:52I'm 23 years old.
32:54I lost my father due to gun violence
32:56at a really young age. She is a
32:58great inspiration. She can really
33:00speak to a lot of their issues.
33:02So, my biggest advice to you guys is
33:04in the face of adversity, just make sure
33:06you're pushing through and achieving your goals.
33:08You guys are young.
33:10You have confidence. You're
33:12intelligent. You know how many positives
33:14I just gave you guys? They don't cost
33:16anything. We all have separate
33:18dreams, but if you're willing to take the risk,
33:20you can. Don't play it safe.
33:22You're young, and you have enough time to go ahead
33:24and do it. Playing it safe will lead
33:26to making you broke. And I'm out.
33:28My personal
33:30journey allows me to encourage the kids
33:32because I grew up in rough neighborhoods
33:34just like them. I'm from the inner city
33:36of Detroit. I grew up in the areas
33:38to where you had drug dealing.
33:40You had all types of violence going on.
33:42I'm able to understand how to navigate
33:44through adversity, putting myself
33:46through school, bringing myself back up to Detroit
33:48to go ahead and start a career.
33:50Good stuff, man.
33:52Bravo gave me
33:54a compliment, y'all.
33:56I'm proud of you.
33:58The man's movement.
34:00The kids love you, bro.
34:02And it's authentic. You brought the real ones,
34:04you know what I'm saying? You brought the real ones out.
34:06Speaking of that, where be at?
34:08I just texted
34:10him asking where you at.
34:14Who's here is supposed to be here.
34:16That's what it's all about. I still wanted my dude
34:18to, you know, come experience it.
34:20We're all doing
34:22the right things. That's the most important thing, man.
34:24I'm here
34:26to volunteer any time you need me, bro.
34:28Hey, dawg, you know what? So the time
34:30since we're going to treat all y'all to dinner, we're going to all go out
34:32to dinner. You know what I'm saying?
34:34You're going to treat us? We're going to treat.
34:36I mean, you treated last time.
34:38I didn't pay my bill.
34:46Brandon, you got to do better.
34:48I mean, if you're going to
34:50come this late, you might as well not came at all.
34:52He could've
34:54had an opportunity to speak to these kids.
34:56So, a part
34:58of me is kind of like, you didn't just let me
35:00down, you let the kids down.
35:02Oh, we.
35:04We made it.
35:06Just not enough time.
35:08Rico Suave, what's good?
35:10It's like he just came from an R&B concert.
35:12Okay, there you go.
35:14So what I missed?
35:16Everything.
35:18Everything.
35:20Just put up
35:22a little bit of a show.
35:24Just put up a little bit of a show.
35:26Just put up a little bit of a show.
35:28Just put up a little bit of a show.
35:30Just put up a little bit of a show.
35:32Just pulled up
35:34to the Man's Movement 2.0,
35:36and I'm a little late,
35:38but I'm here.
35:40Man's Movement looking good.
35:42I'm just letting you know.
35:44The numbers ain't on your head no more.
35:46The vibe is a little off
35:48between me and Anthony.
35:50He seems like he's taking a few
35:52too many stabs.
35:54No, I was like, all the fellas, I just
35:56let the wife know that
35:58me and the wife, we invited everybody out to dinner,
36:00so we're going to do a dinner soon with all of us.
36:02Everybody at the dinner.
36:04I'm going to do like Bravo.
36:06One course and
36:08two drink max.
36:10Okay, I'm like, that's a good deal.
36:12Real talk, today was an important
36:14day because we service like 300
36:16kids five days a week.
36:18It's good to see that you done finally pulled the
36:20movement together, man. It looks good.
36:22It looks organized.
36:24In the spirit of leading by example,
36:26I still feel like
36:28man,
36:30this thing with you and Chelsea, bro,
36:32I still feel like
36:34you owe her an
36:36apology. And that's never
36:38going to happen in life. All this craziness, dude,
36:40I don't care what you all talk about
36:42when it comes to Lil Bird, I'm going to tell you straight up
36:44and down, it ain't going to never happen, dude.
36:46Period.
36:48Brandon must have lost his mind on the drive
36:50over here. You come to my event late
36:52and within five minutes, he's
36:54asking me to go on an apology tour
36:56for your little messy friend
36:58for calling her a bird.
37:00That's something that's a dead conversation.
37:02Boy, you tripping.
37:04You really tripping. I ain't apologizing
37:06for bird activity or whatever.
37:08You don't even need to mention her to me.
37:10How's a man doing all of this great stuff, dog?
37:12I don't like everybody in life, dog.
37:14You ain't got a lot of birds.
37:16You're still calling her a bird.
37:18Come on, dog.
37:20Bird is a better word than what he could be calling her.
37:22And there's another thing too.
37:24She tried to disrespect the wife.
37:26You stood there and let her disrespect.
37:28Let who disrespect? Listen, I don't know why
37:30you brought my wife and Colby
37:32there to look at her
37:34do ring shopping when you know Chelsea don't like me
37:36and my wife. Colby, are you her guard dog?
37:38No, I'm not. But I'm standing here.
37:40But I don't understand
37:42why I'm talking to the
37:44two stooges.
37:46You
37:48stood there and then you tried to do
37:50the whole it's two against one.
37:52In the case, Colby
37:54jumped in and gave her two cents. Chelsea felt
37:56like it was two against one. I mean, how
37:58can we ignore her feelings? Like, I don't know
38:00if she... Because they're going to keep bringing them around each other
38:02and it's something that's got to come to her.
38:04I had no conflict
38:06with her sitting at that table.
38:08Well, they didn't talk at the table, but everybody else saw
38:10the friction there, so... It ain't going to be nothing for me.
38:12Here we go again.
38:14I don't know why Bravo jumping
38:16in to defend Brandon
38:18with this little strange relationship they got going on
38:20right now. I don't know what's up with that.
38:22But he don't need his spokesman.
38:24She ain't popping. What do I care if she there?
38:26Chelsea is popping.
38:28In your opinion and on your level, she is.
38:30But on my level, on my life, she means
38:32nothing to me, dude. I don't care.
38:34You're throwing shots.
38:36You're trying to bring me down
38:38to whatever level you think I'm at.
38:40And you're just really
38:42showing your real true colors, dog,
38:44because I'm coming to you man to man. I'm not coming here
38:46in defense of Chelsea. I'm coming here
38:48like man to man to you. I'm going to say this to
38:50Brandon because I know what position he in.
38:52I promise you, I'm going to stay out
38:54of her way. This is all I'm
38:56going to get from him. He's agreed
38:58to hassle in Chelsea.
39:00That man
39:02will not apologize.
39:04He just won't.
39:06He needs therapy.
39:08I mean, that's it.
39:10Things are different now. It's time to move forward.

39:56having Brandon gone from the house
39:58for so long, but
40:00we both agree that it was for the better.
40:02Now it's time to tell the kids
40:04that daddy is
40:06officially back in the house.
40:12Are those dirty clothes?
40:14No, those are clean.
40:16Well, why did you put them right in the floor?
40:18I'll get them in a minute.
40:20Sit down, girls. Let's talk.
40:22Daddy's coming back now.
40:24How did you girls feel
40:26when daddy was gone?
40:28Me. Me, me, me, me.
40:30Made me feel sad
40:32and angry.
40:34He was angry?
40:36Who were you angry at?

40:40Oh, my.
40:42Next on
40:44Love and Marriage Detroit.
40:46Why would you try to go out of the house
40:48when you're back?
40:54Tell mommy what we talk about.
40:56Just tell mommy.
40:58Well, I'm just saying.
41:00Why would he, like, so, like, don't want to talk to me?
41:02At times, the boys
41:04don't feel comfortable talking to Dr. Thompson.
41:06I haven't seen anybody
41:08since you guys were yelling at my house.
41:10Ouch.
41:12If he's feeling some type of way, I want to go
41:14and address it, so...
