Spring bulbs planting in Glendale Avenue, Wash common
Transcript
00:00Hi, I'm Graham Storey. I'm one of the town councillors for Walsh Common. I'm here with
00:06Meg and other town councillors, plus some volunteers. We're putting some bowls in the
00:10ground. Our intention is obviously to make it a more attractive, greener space. It'll
00:15all come through in the spring and you'll see the results there. Good to see so many
00:19of the community coming out and supporting us as well. It's always nice to help with
00:22these green spaces.
00:25Hello, I'm Susan Millington, Newbury Friends of the Earth coordinator. We're out here in
00:32Walsh Common planting spring flowering bulbs this morning. At the moment we're planting
00:38some daffodils and tulips in Glendale Avenue, just to make the place look beautiful for
00:45everybody that lives here and comes by, and also for the insects. And later on we'll be
00:52moving to Middle Close, which is part of our Newbury Nature Corridor area, where we'll
00:59be planting native spring flowering bulbs, which will be particularly attractive to insects
01:07and other pollinators.
