00:00For me as leader, my time is nearly over, but for Scotland, the campaign continues and
00:09the dream shall never die.
00:11Presiding Officer, the people who live in Scotland are the best people to make decisions
00:17about their own future. Of that, there can be no doubt. In May of last year, those people,
00:22the people of Scotland, gave this Scottish Government an overwhelming mandate because
00:27of a record of good government, a clear vision of the future and the promise of a referendum
00:32on independence.
00:42Thank you to Scotland for 1.6 million votes for Scottish independence.
00:56Scotland has, by majority, decided not, at this stage, to become an independent country.
01:04I accept that verdict of the people and I call on all of Scotland to follow suit in
01:10accepting the democratic verdict of the people of Scotland.
