00:00Good evening and welcome to this Scotland special football show live from Zagreb after
00:08Scotland's agonising 2-1 defeat by Croatia in the Nations League. Alan, very quickly
00:14your thoughts on a pretty crazy match in Zagreb tonight?
00:17Yes, well it's a new form of heartache for Scotland, isn't it? Usually Scotland are conceding
00:25late goals, not in this case. We actually scored a late goal and to have it chopped
00:30off for a marginal offside, it really is a new form of cruelty I think. It literally
00:38was the last kick of the game and it was a very chaotic end to the game, very surreal.
00:43The players are just standing around in the centre circle wondering what was going on
00:47and what was going to happen. The referee obviously chopped off the goal, blew for
00:52full time and even the Croatian players didn't really know what to do. It's quite a very
00:59surreal situation but when it comes down to it, it just prolongs Scotland's winless run.
01:06Now nine competitive games without a victory and just one win in 15. They're turning playing
01:15well and not winning or not even drawing into an art form.
01:20Did you feel, Alan, that Scotland were worth a draw?
01:26I think it's hard to say they were worth a draw actually. I thought they equipped themselves
01:32quite well in the first half. I thought the period after half-time Modric really got on
01:38the ball and really showed his class and I think Croatia were probably worth their
01:47second goal. But it would have been nice to think that Scotland might have just stolen
01:53something at the end. It would have been a change from the usual narrative if Scotland
01:59had just claimed that late draw but sadly it was not to be. I'm very interested to see
02:05how Steve Clarke, what kind of spin he puts on it. Now I'm just about to go off to see
02:10his press conference.
02:12Well Alan, we're going to let you crack on and speak to Steve Clarke and everyone else.
02:16Thanks for joining us from Zagreb, full time, Croatia 2 Scotland 1.
