00:00Good evening, Ricky Charles here from the Ecopower after Doncaster's 1-0 draw with
00:05Crewe. Yeah, pretty entertaining match, weren't it? Honours eve, and I think probably the
00:10right result, to be honest. Crewe started really well, I thought they were really impressive,
00:16nice passages of play. Rovers didn't really get going, did they, first half? Having said
00:23that, there wasn't too much for Teddy Sharmellow to do in terms of opportunities, but yeah,
00:28Crewe looked the more livelier, and then the game kind of sparked into life just before
00:31their half-time. Jordan Gibson's free kick, tipped onto the bar and then Billy Sharp bundled
00:36it in, but offside flag quickly raised. But then you're thinking, can they kind of go
00:43for it just after the restart, but it was Crewe who came out of the blocks quicker,
00:46pounced on a mistake from Rovers, and Conway, a really good goal, slalomed through two or
00:53three players, Jay McGrath kind of dived in, and that opened up the space for Conway
00:58to slot it in, to give Crewe the lead. But after that, it was pretty much one-way traffic,
01:03all Rovers, Grant McCann reacted, made a tactical switch, took off Sterry and Fleming and went
01:09Gung-ho, or as Gung-ho as you could ask for. And then he obviously brought on the likes
01:15of Ironside, likes of Sabara, and obviously the goalscorer Kyle Hurst, really good sweeping
01:21attacking move for Hurst to finish off. We spoke to him just briefly post-match and he
01:29was happy with the goal. He's kind of making up for lost time, wasn't he? He wasn't in
01:34the squad at Grimsby last week and then he's come on today and made an impression. If anyone
01:38was going to win it after that, it was Rovers, they came close, Billy Sharp missed a good
01:42chance, Ironside came close, Hurst as well could have got a second. But as I say, probably
01:48a point is a right result. But yeah, just one of those games where, had it gone for
01:54another 10 minutes, it might have been Rovers that pinched the point. But yeah, as I was
01:58saying, Hurst, spoke to him afterwards, wasn't in the squad last week against Grimsby and
02:03then today he's made an immediate impact when he's come on. So I thought he was a really
02:08bright spark today. And it just goes to show the strength and depth that Grant McCann's
02:12got in this squad. There's so many options, there's players that aren't even in the squad,
02:17Efrem Yeboah was on the bench today, didn't get on, so it bodes well. And obviously when
02:21you add in the fact that there's the likes of Nixon, Maxwell, Westbrook, Wood, all to
02:26come back from injury. And obviously we're going to be getting to the period where games
02:29are going to be coming thick and fast, three matches a week. So yeah, I think sitting second,
02:36it bodes well. So yeah, a blank midweek for Rovers, a rare one, before they make the long
02:41trip down to Swindon next Saturday. So yeah, thanks for tuning in, got plenty of stuff
02:46up already. We've got the play ratings, Grant McCann's reaction, and there'll be plenty
02:50going up over the weekend, including obviously the talking points on Sunday morning.
