00:00Hello, hi, welcome to Blender, welcome to Emma's Animation G, and welcome to the world of easy.
00:08So, I apologise for my snibbles, and I want to say thank you to all my subscribers.
00:12Right click on the screen, click the box, right click, left click, delete.
00:16Use the mouse on the laptop.
00:18What I want to do, let's say you went to Mixamo on the internet and downloaded a file for a character.
00:24It's going to be an FBX, that's what it'll be.
00:27So we can import the FBX, if we want to, go here.
00:31Download, as you can see, our two FBX files.
00:34Now, I want to go left or right, it doesn't matter which one you choose, just go left.
00:39Import. Wait till it comes in.
00:41When it comes in, zoom in with the mouse.
00:44Go here, turn on textures.
00:46You say, welcome to the world of Emma.
00:49Emma is an age 1 character.
00:51She's out of a game called Red Bandali.
00:53When it's running, I'll let you know.
00:55Go down here, left click, hold it, drag it.
00:57Now, what we want to do is click this, hold it, drag it.
01:01Open Emma, open animation, you see here.
01:05Double left click it.
01:07Call it number 1, because this is our first character.
01:10Just call it 1, just for easy convenience.
01:13Click off it.
01:15Go back here.
01:16Import animation number 2.
01:18Now, I can import Kalana if I want to, but I'm not doing that.
01:22Go back here, go import.
01:24Import FBX.
01:26It's the same thing for both.
01:28So, import FBX. Now we need number 2.
01:30We need the right one.
01:32So, import the right hand, go here.
01:34Open the animation sheet.
01:36Double left click it.
01:38Just type number 2.
01:40Keep it nice and easy.
01:42Now, because I know for this particular character,
01:45the animation sheet for this is only 110,
01:49we can play the animation sheet
01:51and see where she stops.
01:54So, I'm going to put 110.
01:56And I'm going to just press enter.
01:58Just to track down the actual waiting time for the character.
02:02If you're playing a character like this,
02:04it's kind of a bit weird to see two characters
02:07inside the same skin.
02:10But we're going to sort that.
02:12Go back to number 1.
02:14Go over here.
02:16Go to Doshi.
02:18Click here.
02:19Actionator.
02:21In the actionator,
02:23she's already got the first action.
02:25See that little wheel of Doshi under there?
02:27That's because we shortened the timeline.
02:29Click that little dot. Right click it.
02:31Then left click delete.
02:33Get rid of that.
02:35Once you get rid of that,
02:37because all we want is that part.
02:39We don't need the piece over here.
02:41Now, leave it on number 1.
02:43Make sure it's on your character.
02:45And then push it down.
02:47Oh, I just got a new case.
02:49If you want a new animation.
02:51Great. Click here.
02:53Load animation number 2.
02:55And now,
02:57click the shield and push that down.
02:59How easy was that?
03:01Great.
03:03Go over to here.
03:05Select all the bits if you want to.
03:07Right click and delete the whole lot.
03:09Just leave your character
03:11and nothing else.
03:13Go back to here.
03:15Go to non-linear.
03:17Here's number 1.
03:19And here's number 2.
03:21Number 1, number 2.
03:23Because what we're doing now is up to you.
03:25Whichever way you want to do it.
03:27So, if you look at the animations,
03:29you turn them off with these ones here.
03:31You turn that one off with this one.
03:33So number 2 is the right hand.
03:35But really, number 2 is number 1.
03:37And number 1 really is number 2.
03:39See all that?
03:41They say,
03:43really you just put right and left click.
03:45It doesn't matter when you export it.
03:47It's not going to call it 1 and 2.
03:49It's going to call it animation 1 and animation 2.
03:51It doesn't matter how you do it.
03:53Tick both boxes.
03:55Tick both of these.
03:57Don't do nothing else.
03:59Go here. Export.
04:01Export.
04:03Now you export as you want to.
04:05I export mine as Kalana.
04:07But if you share it on the internet,
04:09I export it as it is.
04:11It's a GIF file for Windows.
04:13I'm going to export it to Windows.
04:15Say yep.
04:17Go to Downloads.
04:19Call it number 1.
04:21Press OK.
04:23Watch the screen.
04:25When it disappears, it's done.
04:27Now it's done.
04:29Go here.
04:31Open number 1.
04:33Log to Microsoft.
04:35Absolutely great.
04:37Now of course, this is Emma's animation bar.
04:41Go down here.
04:43Look down here.
04:45You'll see this animation bar.
04:47Great.
04:49Notice how she starts looking at her left hand.
04:51That's what we chose.
04:53Go here.
04:552 animations for 2 bars.
04:57Now if we change the animation,
04:59she looks at her right hand.
05:01How nice and easy is that?
05:03The best part about it
05:05is what can I do with
05:07Windows actual GIF file.
05:09What you can do with it,
05:11you can drag and drop it
05:13into Unreal Engine 5.
05:15I know you can because I've already got it.
05:17You can't do it in number 4.
05:19You can't do it in number 4.
05:21In number 4, it's got to be in FBX.
05:23As I said,
05:25I like to make my animations easy.
05:27I don't do it so I can import it
05:29into that software.
05:31I do it because I'll show you.
05:33When you export this file,
05:35you only have to share that file.
05:37Inside that file
05:39is the sound, animation,
05:41everything is inside that file.
05:43It's a nice, easy
05:45storage package for your animations.
05:47You can basically
05:49stick all your animations into one
05:51little container.
05:53If all of your animations
05:55are running, jumping, crawling,
05:57whatever you're doing,
05:59clapping, you can store them all in here.
06:01Whenever you want them,
06:03all you have to do is just
06:05bring it back into Blender.
06:07Go back here.
06:09Now,
06:11when you do this, make sure you always
06:13start with fresh Blender
06:15because your animations
06:17won't crash
06:19but you'll get double animations
06:21of the same animation.
06:23Just go here and clear it.
06:25Hit the box, go back here, import.
06:27Import my Glyph file.
06:29Go back here.
06:31I'm not importing FBX, I'm not importing Collada.
06:33I'm importing Glyph.
06:35Look at your animation.
06:37Wait until it comes in.
06:39Give it a couple of seconds.
06:41As I say, it takes a couple of seconds to come in
06:43because I'm doing a screen recorder.
06:45Go back here.
06:47It will load with all the textures built into it.
06:49I'm thinking, how great is that?
06:51Come down here. Go back to linear.
06:53Go back into non-linear.
06:55Look at the non-linear.
06:57Actually, you know what?
06:59I don't want animation number 2
07:01so we'll end up with this thing here.
07:03I don't want that animation.
07:05I want it separate.
07:07Maybe you want it separate. Maybe you do.
07:09Here's what I'm going to tell you to do.
07:11Click on whichever one you don't want.
07:13Let's say we want to keep this one.
07:15If you want to keep it, put the lock on it.
07:17Under the lock, right-click on it.
07:19Down here,
07:21delete strip. Strip is the one
07:23on this side.
07:25This is the strip.
07:27You can right-click on it.
07:29Go here, delete strip.
07:31It disappears.
07:33Right-click on this one.
07:35You should be able to move it out
07:37to the actual thing itself.
07:39It's not there, look.
07:41Go here, go edit.
07:43Now, if you've got a different version
07:45of Blender,
07:47if you've got a different version of Blender,
07:49sometimes these two are separate.
07:51They're actually here and here.
07:53The one on the left
07:55is called a track.
07:57Delete the track.
07:59Now we've only got one animation.
08:01What can we do with that?
08:03If we've got loads of animations in here,
08:05don't forget it's all in storage.
08:07What we do is
08:09click on all this if you want to.
08:11Go back to here.
08:13Go back to export.
08:15Export is here.
08:17Now you can get any file you want.
08:19Let's export back to Windows.
08:21I'm going to call this one number two.
08:23Because we've already got number one.
08:25This is going to be number two.
08:27So we're going to export that.
08:29Just in case I actually want her on a room.
08:31I think it'd be great.
08:33Go back here.
08:35This is our first animation.
08:37This is our storage package.
08:39We've got all our animations in here.
08:41Oh yeah, I like that, that's great.
08:43Now of course, we're going to go into number two
08:45because we want to separate the animation
08:47from our animations.
08:49If you look in here,
08:51there's one there
08:53and there's one there.
08:55Because we didn't actually delete it.
08:57Go back in here.
08:59Open this one.
09:01There's two animations in here.
09:03Make sure you
09:05open that thing up.
09:07Make sure you open it up.
09:09Once you open it, it's open.
09:11Go here. Undo that.
09:13Pick whichever animation
09:15you want. That one.
09:17Which hand do you want?
09:19That one.
09:21And we untick that one.
09:23This one should be the right hand.
09:25We're going to keep
09:27the right hand.
09:29Right click here.
09:31Delete the script.
09:33You can't delete it, you have to untick it.
09:35Untick the padlock.
09:37Right click. Delete the script.
09:39Click on here.
09:41Go here.
09:43Go edit.
09:45This one deletes the script, this one deletes the track.
09:47Get rid of the track.
09:49Now we only want the right hand
09:51of the animation.
09:53Great. Go back up here.
09:55I'm not going to select it all. I'm going to show you.
09:57Come down here. Go export.
09:59Number 2. Click that.
10:01Delete it. Get rid of it.
10:03Export it. Wait for it to
10:05disappear off the screen.
10:07A couple of seconds.
10:09As I said, this is our first
10:11animation.
10:13And as you know,
10:15the animations work great in there.
10:17You'll look absolutely great.
10:19Go back to number 2.
10:21We've split the animation, we've separated it.
10:23Now of course we go here.
10:25You see how it's still keeping two animations?
10:27It shouldn't keep the two animations.
10:29Go back here.
10:31Look at the model. Go back in here.
10:33Oh, you know what I've done?
10:35Because I didn't clear it.
10:37Go back to here. Clear it.
10:39I think you shouldn't do that.
10:41It makes you into the animations.
10:43Like I said to you,
10:45if you don't clear it,
10:47I'll show you. Watch.
10:49Bring in number 2.
10:51It will come in.
10:53It will come in with two animations.
10:55Watch.
10:57It comes in.
10:59We can look at the animations here.
11:01Open it up.
11:03Notice over here we've got two animations.
11:05We've got one and two.
11:07Go down here.
11:09Notice we've got two animations.
11:11Open this up.
11:13Look at this thing here.
11:15Let's play this one.
11:17Let's zoom into the character.
11:19Let's see what he's doing.
11:21This is the left hand.
11:23We've got this one.
11:25This is the left hand.
11:27We don't want two left hands,
11:29so we can click on this group.
11:31I want to keep this one.
11:33What we're going to do is unclick that.
11:35Play this one.
11:37I want to keep the right hand.
11:39I want to click this one.
11:41Delete the script.
11:43Go here.
11:45Delete the script.
11:47Go here.
11:49Delete the track.
11:51Go here.
11:53Delete the track.
11:55Now we've only got one animation.
11:57Just this one.
11:59If you look over here,
12:01make sure you've only got the one animation.
12:03It looks good.
12:05Let's select the whole thing.
12:07Go over here.
12:09Export.
12:11Export.
12:13Gift number two.
12:15Delete it.
12:17That one.
12:19Now we should end up with one animation.
12:21As I said,
12:23if you import it and export it
12:25and you don't clear the background,
12:27you'll end up keeping all of the animation
12:29that's actually in the scene.
12:31So, hopefully,
12:33it's clear.
12:35It's still there.
12:37Obviously,
12:39whatever's going on with Blender,
12:41it's not clearing the actual background.
12:43So, as you can see,
12:45I don't even have that animation.
12:47I have that animation.
12:49I don't have that animation.
12:51I don't have it.
12:53It's not in here.
12:55So, if you play the animation,
12:57look, she's got a right hand.
12:59She doesn't have a left hand.
13:01It's got confused.
13:03So, obviously,
13:05we can't find it.
13:07So, let's go back in here.
13:09Let's go back into DopeSheet.
13:11It's not in here.
13:13It's in Action Editor.
13:15You see here, in Action Editor,
13:17we've got two animations.
13:19I think,
13:21well, how do you get rid of it?
13:23Now, I'll show you.
13:25This is this animation.
13:27I'm going to apply that.
13:29This is this animation.
13:31This is the left animation.
13:33And we're going to delete that.
13:35OK. So, go back in here.
13:37Go to the first one.
13:39Make sure this one's applied.
13:41Go back here.
13:43Export.
13:45Kalana.
13:47Not Kalana.
13:49Glyph.
13:51I say Kalana because I always export Kalana.
13:53That's why I say Kalana.
13:55Give it a second.
13:57Let's see if that fixed the problem.
13:59Reopen it.
14:01I do show you the problem.
14:03Sometimes I run into it.
14:05Nope. She's not doing it.
14:07As I said,
14:09when you import the animations,
14:11I said,
14:13you can go into non-linear.
14:15And you say,
14:17well, where is animation?
14:19We don't want the two animations.
14:21Once you click on an animation,
14:23I only want the right hand.
14:25I only want that one.
14:27I don't want this one.
14:29I don't want this one.
14:31Click here.
14:33Click here.
14:35Track.
14:37Make sure that this is the only one that I want.
14:39This one here.
14:41This should be the only one that's actually on.
14:43The thing itself.
14:45The thing itself is ticked off.
14:47So I've ticked the box
14:49to make sure that it's already on.
14:51Go back into non-linear.
14:53Action editor.
14:55I don't want the two of them.
14:57I only want the one action.
14:59That one there.
15:01I only want that action. I don't want nothing else.
15:03Well,
15:05if I don't get it out of this menu,
15:07if I can't get it off here,
15:09it doesn't matter how many times I export it,
15:11it's just going to keep adding that file.
15:13So as I said,
15:15when you do your files,
15:17it's good to only bring in the animations
15:19you actually want.
15:21That's why I usually tell you,
15:23whatever animation you're after,
15:25now watch what I do here.
15:27Now I want to get rid of that track.
15:29Because I only want the right hand.
15:31So this is how I do it.
15:33I go into export collider.
15:35Leave it untitled.
15:37Tick this.
15:39Now the good thing about collider,
15:41which I find,
15:43myself personally,
15:45is it will only actually save
15:47one animation.
15:49Give it a second.
15:51Let it do its magic.
15:53Too many.
15:55OK, once it's done that, go back in here.
15:57Clear the data.
15:59Don't forget, I've been trying to get rid of it,
16:01get rid of it, get rid of it, I can't get rid of it.
16:03So I have to export it to collider.
16:05Bring it back in.
16:07Look at my animation.
16:11Now you notice it's only looking at one hand.
16:17Now the animation.
16:19It's 110, we know that.
16:21Transfer that.
16:23Go here, select all that if you want to.
16:29Now we can go back into non-linear,
16:31just to check it.
16:33OK, there's only one animation in there.
16:35Nothing else.
16:37As I said, collider is great for this.
16:39Go back here.
16:41Export.
16:43I'm going to export it back as a glyph.
16:45Just in case you think that what I'm showing you
16:47is not real.
16:49Go here.
16:51As I said, once it's
16:53stored in glyph,
16:55I just export it back out
16:57as a collider file.
16:59So it's only the animation that I want.
17:01And it only saves
17:03the animation.
17:05Go back here.
17:07I'll show you. Now this should work perfect.
17:09As you can see, now she's
17:11looking at her hand, and we've lost
17:13the animation bar.
17:15Look, we don't have it.
17:17Now, she's only got one animation.
17:19And go,
17:21yes, thank you very much collider.
17:23Look, that's why I like collider.
17:25So,
17:27yeah, as you can see, the process
17:29is very easy, very simple, and I did
17:31show you how to fix this problem.
17:33As I said,
17:35when you import all your animations
17:37into Blender itself,
17:39go to here, look.
17:41Go to ActionAzer,
17:43go to Doji, look inside
17:45here. Notice that
17:47now we've only got, look, one action.
17:49If you've got 20
17:51actions in here,
17:53every time you export it,
17:55it's going to have 20 actions.
17:57So you have to click on the animation
17:59you want. In my case,
18:01this one. Keep the shield
18:03on it. So if you're jumping,
18:05crawling, swimming, it doesn't matter.
18:07If you want to move properly
18:09and separate it, click.
18:11The motion that you want,
18:13laughing, crying, doesn't matter what you're doing.
18:15You know, maybe you're having a lot of fun,
18:17I don't know what you're doing, but whatever
18:19your character's doing,
18:21pick the animation you want, go back here.
18:23Export it. You can export it as
18:25FBX if you want to. I just choose collider
18:27because I like collider.
18:29And then, of course, I just export it back
18:31to Glyph as a
18:33completely, utterly separate
18:35animation like that.
18:37Which is absolutely great.
18:39Perfect. So,
18:41I'm showing you basically three different
18:43file types. I'm showing you
18:45the Glyph files, I'm showing you
18:47the FBX files, and I'm showing you the
18:49collider files. So as I said,
18:51I really hope you like the video. I really do.
18:53As I said, I do try to keep my
18:55content as easy
18:57and as simple as possible.
18:59I do try and explain all the angles so you
19:01understand exactly how to do it.
19:03And if you've got a bit of a problem, you know how to
19:05fix it. Anyway, keep watching
19:07the videos. They can only get better.
19:09Well, maybe get worse. But anyway,
19:11you know what I mean.
19:13Hopefully you
19:15start watching them. Anyway,
19:17as I say, stay safe, keep you
19:19friendly, keep reading the text.
19:21See you soon. Bye.
