Cold, mainly dry and sunny on Thursday but there will be some showers around bringing a threat of snow. Cold temperatures, showers and sunny spells continue into the weekend.

00:04For the rest of Thursday though there will be plenty of dry and sunny weather around.
00:08Just a few showers are possible and these will be mostly for coastal regions as well as across the far north of Scotland.
00:14And here some of these could be wintry over the hills.
00:18Longer spells of rain will nudge into the far north west during the evening but elsewhere it should remain dry.
00:25Thursday night will be mainly dry and clear and under light winds our temperatures will quickly fall away
00:29and it will bring quite a chilly night with some patches of frost forming.
00:33This frost will soon lift and clear on Friday to reveal a mainly dry and sunny day across England and Wales.
00:39Feeling cold though with temperatures below the average but our winds will come from the west so it won't feel as cold as it did on Thursday.
00:46Showery rain will push eastwards on Thursday across Scotland, possibly nudging into the far north of Northern Ireland too.
00:53On Saturday this band of showery rain will then track southwards and eastwards across the country
00:58turning increasingly light and patchy as it does so and there will also be plenty of sunshine around between those showers.
