Cleobury Mortimer is the town and a Sausage dog meet up is the event, the first time for the town. If it goes well it may become a regular fixture. This event coincides wit Halloween so dog owners are being invited to dress there dogs up if they want too, although of course they don't have too.

00:00Hello, the Queen of the Sausage Dog! How are you madam? Very good thank you. So we're in
00:08Clebury Mortimer, we've got sausage dogs, one's ready and pimped for Halloween there,
00:13what's going on? So we are hosting a Sausage Dog social walk, first one in Clebury Mortimer.
00:20We noticed lots of people have got sausage dogs so we thought why not get everyone together
00:23and have a nice social walk with everybody all together. When and where is it happening?
00:29It's happening on Sunday the 27th of October, Halloween themed obviously. We are meeting
00:33up at 11am at the Sports and Social Club field, plenty of parking, nice big open space to
00:41meet. That's just off the High Street isn't it? Yes. And who have we got here then? This
00:46is Maeve. Maeve, how old's Maeve? Maeve is nearly 12 months old, she's a princess. And
00:52this is Duncan, he's 19 weeks old and as you can see, quite the beast. He doesn't need
00:59a costume, he comes with his own character. So is there a bit of a revival in sausage
01:05dogs are we thinking then? I don't know, revival, I think it might be a coming of age I think
01:10for sausage dogs, bless them. If no one's owned a sausage dog, what kind of dog would
01:16you want them to have as a pet? Oh they're absolutely wonderful, they're cuddly, they're
01:21friendly, they're loud. What more could you want in a dog? I mean they're sitting there
01:27quite nicely aren't they really, just chilling out. There's another dog walking past them.
01:32Yeah yeah, let's give him a little, hello mate, hello darling. And this is actually
01:37a Build-A-Bear costume isn't it, so very versatile. Yes, we had ordered costumes but not quite
01:43arrived yet. You don't need to, that's sorted, I mean and you know what, she's loving that.
01:48She pulls it off doesn't she. So you're a local girl yourself aren't you? Yes, I'm
01:52Calibri Mortimer. So what gave you the idea then, obviously you said you'd seen a few
01:56around. Yeah, well we've been to Sausage Dog Social Walks in other areas, Shrewsbury, we
02:03got invited to one in Cornwall when we were on holiday a couple of weeks ago. So the
02:07event itself is actually quite a popular event nowadays, so we thought why not host one ourselves.
02:12And are you hoping it might become an annual fixture on the Calibri calendar? More than
02:16annual hopefully. Spring, summer, autumn, winter, there's an event for everybody.
02:20Great stuff, well good luck with it Mel. Thank you very much.
