Is this the new best monitor setup for gaming? The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 monitor is an AI-powered 32-inch 4K, 16:9 gaming monitor with up to 0.03ms of input latency on a 240Hz refresh rate screen. While it may not use fancy tandem OLED tech as seen in the Apple iPad Pro, it does come equipped with OLED Glare-Free technology, which reduces reflections to ensure you get the most out of your OLED panel.

00:00We're here at Samsung checking out the new gaming OLED monitor lineup, including the
00:04G8.
00:05Let's check it out.
00:06This is a 4K, 240Hz monitor, built for gaming.
00:10First announced at CES, the Samsung OLED G8 is the first AI-powered gaming monitor from
00:15Samsung.
00:16It is also the first flat 32-inch Samsung OLED gaming monitor and supports a 16x9 aspect
00:22ratio.
00:23It's got a 240Hz refresh rate, so it comes equipped with HDR10+.
00:28It's all automatic.
00:29Essentially, you don't have to do anything.
00:31You plug everything in and it picks it up right for you.
00:34You have full HDR gaming.
00:36This allows the monitors to automatically detect when a game is being played and auto-calibrate
00:42the settings for HDR10+.
00:44You can adjust it however you like, and you can even turn it off if you don't want HDR
00:49gaming.
00:50The Samsung OLED G8 also comes equipped with built-in speakers, so you're always immersed
00:55in the action.
00:56Samsung is also bringing across their OLED glare-free technology, which debuted with
01:01this year's S95D TV.
01:03You can check out our Samsung S95D OLED TV hands-on with Kate Kozik on our YouTube channel.
01:10Essentially, it makes things easier when you have ambient lighting and also from different
01:16angles.
01:17You can also play games pretty well.
01:19It makes it a lot less tiresome and annoying.
01:23It diffuses the ambient lighting when it comes into the room.
01:27Usually, gamers like sitting in a dungeon, but some others don't, so anti-glare screen
01:34definitely helps.
01:35It just looks awesome.
01:36Some gamers might not like it because it might mess up the screen.
01:39It also might make certain blacks a little less.
01:43So the colors are pretty accurate here.
01:46Blacks look pretty accurate.
01:48Even the shadows look pretty good.
01:50A major concern for most OLED buyers is the risk of burn-in during long streaming and
01:55gaming sessions, and Samsung has done away with this with OLED Safeguard Plus technology.
02:01Samsung says the G8 can reduce the temperature at its core and predict surface temperature,
02:06preemptively controlling the brightness to prevent future overheating.
02:09So if you check out the back of the gaming monitor here, you'll see Samsung's core lighting.
02:14It can also sync with the game as well, kind of like you see on some TVs with lighting
02:19in the back, you can sync it to the color that's playing on your game.
02:23The Samsung G8 will be available June 4th for $1299.
02:28Let me know what you guys think.
