00:44was followed by several important meetings.

00:46President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave the importance of following the international law.

00:52This is in front of the aggressive action of China in the West Philippine Sea.

00:57The 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit and related summits began formally.

01:03It was attended by 10 ASEAN member state countries, including Timor-Leste as an observer.

01:09President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos and other ASEAN leaders were present at the opening ceremony.

01:17It was followed by a plenary and retreat session.

01:20Connectivity and resilience were exchanged.

01:24Opinions on regional and international issues were exchanged.

01:28President R. Marcos Jr. advocated following the international law.

01:32This is in front of the aggressive action of China in the West Philippine Sea.

01:36According to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and International Law,

01:40the Philippines has sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea.

01:47This is the general principle of the adherence to the rule of law and the UNCLOS.

01:55The Inter-Parliamentary Assembly was also held today.

01:58It was attended by the Business Advisory Council, ASEAN Youth and Business Investment Summit.

02:04President R. Marcos' participation in the meetings is important to advance the interests of the Philippines,

02:10such as ensuring peace and security, strengthening our economy, and improving the well-being of every Filipino,

02:18fighting against climate change, natural and man-made disasters, transnational crime, and economic downturns.

02:25My participation and that of the Philippines in the ASEAN meetings is precisely to find ways to cooperate with partners

02:33to better meet the challenges of today, to forge a better future for our beloved Philippines.

02:39It is the target of the Philippines to find leaders in the country.

02:43That is why the country's position is considered to be the most dynamic and best-performing economy in Asia.

02:49I will meet potential investors, business people,

02:52and encourage them to explore the many promising economic opportunities that we have for them in the Philippines.

02:59Last night, the bilateral meeting of the Philippines and Vietnam was held,

03:03where the strategic partnership of the two countries was strengthened.

03:06President Marcos and Vietnam's former minister, Phan Minh Chin, also agreed

03:11that the two countries should continue to work together to achieve good results,

03:16such as cooperation in rice trade, agriculture, and to stop incidents in the South China Sea.

03:21Three more bilateral meetings between Canada, New Zealand, and Japan will be held in the coming days.

03:29Ma'an, 82 outcome documents are expected to be completed from the meetings

03:35at the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits,

03:39including the implementation of the ASEAN Outlook in the Indo-Pacific region,

03:45as well as strengthening biosafety and biosecurity, and cooperation to fight drugs.
