The Court of Appeal has fixed Nov 18 to decide in the appeal against the acquittal of Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin and his wife Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad from three corruption charges involving RM2.8mil linked to a Felcra Bhd investment.

00:00The Court of Appeal has fixed November 18 to decide in the appeal against the acquittal

00:13corruption charges involving 2.8 million ringgit linked to a Falkra Berhad investment.
00:19A three-judge panel chaired by Justice Ahmad Zaidi Ibrahim set the date after hearing oral
00:24submissions from lawyers representing Bung Mokhtar and Zizi on Wednesday.
00:29Earlier, lawyer Datuk Seri K. Kumarendran submitted to the court that two prosecution
00:35witnesses themselves had testified that there was no money received by Bung Mokhtar.
00:40He asked, quote, why should his defence be called when the prosecution witnesses themselves
00:46said that money was never received, which was the basic premium of Bung Mokhtar's charge,
00:52end quote.
00:53Meanwhile, Deputy Public Prosecutor Mazia Mohaidi informed the court that the prosecution
00:59intended to use only the written submission.
01:02The Kinabatangan MP and his wife were acquitted and discharged on September 7 last year after
01:08the High Court allowed their revision applications to overturn the decision by the Sessions Court,
01:14ordering them to enter their defence on the corruption charges.
01:17The prosecution filed its appeal on September 18.
