00:00It's been over 12 months since the Galaxy S23 Plus was officially launched, so I think
00:06it's a very good time to re-review it, to make an updated review on this phone to find
00:12out if it's still worth it in 2024.
00:15As always, we're going to start by talking a little bit about the exterior design, which,
00:20as you can see, is quite similar to the previous model, to the S22 Plus, with only a few small
00:26shape differences on the side edges to make it more ergonomic.
00:30I've already said this many, many times, and I will say it again.
00:34Without a doubt, this is the most beautiful design that Samsung has ever created for one
00:39of their phones.
00:40They've been slowly improving it year after year until they've reached something that's
00:45damn near close to perfect.
00:47Although, you need to know that this is no small phone by any means.
00:51It has a 6.6-inch panel, which is very close to the size of the S23 Ultra, and unless you
00:59have particularly big hands, it is going to be a two-hand phone most of the time.
01:04Which you should remember and you should take into account, because if you're one of those
01:08people who spends their days going outside of the house from one place to the other and
01:13you take your phone on and off the pocket, maybe you should go for the smaller version,
01:17the S23, nothing else.
01:19Because the Plus and Ultra models of these phones are particularly complicated to use
01:25unless you're, as I said, using them with two hands, elbows to the chest type position,
01:31locked in, which, you know, for some people may be a big inconvenience.
01:35But anyways, in terms of the internal components, it obviously has the best of the best of 2023,
01:41which in this case is the Snapdragon 8 Generation 2, optimized for Samsung.
01:48Pay close attention, my friends, this is not the normal Snapdragon 8 Generation 2 like
01:53on the rest of the high-end phones from Android.
01:55It has a version of this processor that's been customized to get the most out of the
02:00S23.
02:01So, of course, it is as fast as it gets in the Android game.
02:05There's no app that doesn't open instantaneously, there's no game that can't be played at maximum
02:10settings.
02:11I would even say it has spare performance right now, you can't really take advantage
02:15of the full capacity of this processor, which may seem a little stupid, but it's not because,
02:21for example, iPhones now can play console level games, and very soon you will be able
02:26to do the same thing on Android phones.
02:28So thanks to having this spare performance, you will be able to play these games on the
02:32S23 without having to spend another pile of money on a new phone, which, by the way, speaking
02:39of spending piles of money, I need to tell you, I feel obligated to tell you, that right
02:45now the S23 has a very good price on Amazon.
02:49I left a direct link in the description, and I heavily recommend that at the end of the
02:53video you go check it out.
02:55Right now it has like a $400-$500 discount as opposed to the original price, so if you
03:00are thinking about buying this phone or you're interested, remember to click the link.
03:05But hey, let's talk about the battery life.
03:08Another very strong point on this phone, because, as you can see, it has more juice
03:12than the S22 Plus and, surprisingly, than the S23 Ultra, which were already incredibly
03:19good in terms of battery life.
03:21More specifically, it is going to give you 9 hours of use, depending on the things you
03:26do with it, which I believe is more than enough for 100% of people watching this.
03:31Even if you spend the entire day outside of the house without access to any chargers,
03:36and even if you're a heavy user, you will always end up your days with some juice left.
03:41So yeah, keep this in mind, because in this case, the more expensive phone, the S23 Ultra
03:46is not the one with the best battery life.
03:49And finally, it is time to talk about the display, another very strong component on
03:54this phone, because, in this case, it has everything.
03:58And everything is everything, a 120Hz LTPO panel that varies the refresh rate for maximum
04:05fluidity, on top of a top-tier OLED display with 1750 nits of brightness, and extremely
04:11thin bezels.
04:12I have to say, though, one of the quote-unquote downsides of this phone is that it doesn't
04:17have a 1440p panel like the S23 Ultra.
04:22And I say quote-unquote downside, because after trying the S23 Ultra and the S23 normal
04:29phone, and having them side-by-side, comparing the displays, I can confirm that the difference
04:34between 1080 and 1440 on a phone is impossible to distinguish to the naked eye.
04:41The only way to notice the difference between them is if you use some kind of magnifying
04:45glass, which is not the way you normally use your phone.
04:50And also, having a 1440p display drains a lot more battery than having a 1080p display,
04:55so I wouldn't really call it a feature or an improvement over the normal S23 with the
05:02normal 1080p display.
05:04But anyways, it's time to talk about the most important component on this phone, the
05:08cameras.
05:09As you can see, right now I'm recording with the main camera on the S23, and it looks incredible!
05:15Look at this!
05:16We get a natural bokeh effect, we get a lot of dynamic range, we get very sharp video
05:21with great colors, it looks almost as good as my professional APS-C camera that I use
05:26to shoot most of my videos, which is crazy!
05:29More specifically, we get three cameras on the back of the S23.
05:33We get a 50 megapixel main sensor, which is the one you're seeing right now, and then
05:37we get two other cameras, a 10 megapixel zoom and a 12 megapixel ultrawide.
05:42As always, I'm going to leave you with another minute of photos from all the cameras, zooming
05:46in so you can see the little details, because I know most of you are pixel peepers who like
05:51to appreciate those little details and factors, and then I'll come back to give you my conclusions
05:56and talk about the selfie camera.
07:03All right, well, those were the photos from all the cameras, and as I said earlier, the
07:22quality is through the roof, especially on the main camera.
07:26Wow!
07:27The natural bokeh, the colors, the detail, I mean, not to undermine the other cameras,
07:32but the main sensor on this phone is like, I never thought I would see a phone with such
07:37good video and photo quality, and that applies to the selfie camera too.
07:41As you can see, I'm recording with it right now at 4K, 30 FPS, and wow!
07:46Look at the dynamic range.
07:47You can see the clouds and my face at the same time.
07:50There's a lot of detail.
07:514K video recording, you can see the little hairs on my nose.
07:55I mean, it's a phone.
07:59So if you're into photos, you're into videos, and you were wondering, oh, maybe the S23
08:03is not good enough.
08:05It is good enough, brother.
08:06It is very good.
08:08So conclusion, is the S23 Plus worth it in 2024?
08:13Well, yes, it is very worth it, because it offers most of the features of the S24 Plus
08:21for a fraction of the price.
08:23For those of you who are interested in having a flagship phone experience, but are not willing
08:28to spend flagship phone money, this is perfect.
08:31This is the best deal you can have.
08:33And even better, since the video is now finishing, you can now click the link that I left in
08:39the description, and you can see how low the price really is.
08:44Go take a look.
08:46Come on.
08:47Go take a look.
