00:00Samsung Galaxy S10 in 2024.
00:04In this video, we're going to find out if after 5 full years, this is still a viable
00:09and usable phone.
00:11As always, we're going to start by talking about the exterior design, which as you can
00:15see is quite similar to the previous model, to the Galaxy S9, with only a few small differences
00:21on the front side that make it look more modern and up to date with the latest models.
00:26I've already said this many, many times and I will say it again, without a doubt, this
00:31is one of the most beautiful designs that Samsung has ever created for one of their
00:35phones.
00:36In my personal opinion, actually, it is between the S10 and the S23 in terms of just raw beauty
00:41of the phone.
00:43And on top of that, it is also the perfect size because at 6.1 inches, which is funny
00:49enough, the exact same size of the iPhone 15s and 14s, it is super comfortable to hold
00:53with one or two hands, it fits in your pocket, it is not too heavy, it just feels like the
00:58right phone size to use.
01:00And this is something you should remember because I see a lot of people just go for
01:04the Ultra model because it has the more features, it's more, it's better, it's a better phone,
01:08but they forget they're not Shaq Hill O'Neil, you don't have larger hands than average,
01:14so you're not going to be able to use that Ultra phone with one hand.
01:17And trust me, from experience, I'll tell you that when you need to take the phone out of
01:20your pocket in the middle of the street and use it with only one hand, you'll thank me
01:24for advising you to get the more comfortable compact phone.
01:28But anyways, let's move on, let's talk about the internal components.
01:32More specifically, let's talk about the processor, which is the best processor you could get
01:37for an Android phone five years ago.
01:40In this case, the Snapdragon 855, which although has already been surpassed by the A65, 888,
01:48a generation one, a generation two, a generation three, it is still a very capable processor,
01:54it is very well optimized, it is going to give you a very speedy and fluid experience
01:59with the day-to-day apps like TikTok or Instagram with your day-to-day phone games.
02:05Of course, it is not going to be able to play the latest Assassin's Creed or the latest
02:09Resident Evil like the latest iPhones can, but for absolutely everything else, all of
02:14your day-to-day apps, all of the things just average people do with their phones, it is
02:18going to give you a very pleasant experience, which is very impressive taken into consideration
02:23that it's very, it's kind of old.
02:25And by the way, do you know what is also very impressive?
02:30The price of the Galaxy S10 on Amazon.
02:34It is absurd at this point, it is priced as an entry-level phone, but it brings you a
02:40way better experience in future set than a basic level phone.
02:45I left a direct link in the description and I heavily recommend that at the end of the
02:50video you go check it out because if you wanted to buy an S10, right now is the moment.
02:55The price is ridiculous, but at the end of the video, because we have to keep talking
03:00about the S10, let's move on, let's talk about the battery life, a very positive feature
03:05on this phone since as you can see in the test, it is almost as good as the Galaxy S20
03:11and S21, which is great considering that those two are very good phones in terms of battery
03:17capacity and durability.
03:18More specifically, it is going to give you six to seven hours of use depending on the
03:23things you do with it, which I believe is more than enough for the majority of people
03:27watching this, unless you spend the entire day outside of the house and you spend the
03:32entire day using the phone.
03:33But hey, let's talk about the most impressive feature on the S10, let's talk about the display.
03:39This is insane considering the age of the S10, it has a 1300 nit brightness display
03:46with a 1440p resolution, absolutely absurd.
03:51It is actually a higher resolution than the S23 and S24, which kind of doesn't really
03:56make any sense, but I guess Samsung decided that it didn't really make sense because people
04:00couldn't tell the difference and they were just burning a lot more battery than they
04:04should unnecessarily, so they lowered it to 1080p.
04:07But if you really care about sharpness, technically you can get a better, sharper display with
04:12the S10 than you would get with an S24, that's like five, six times more expensive.
04:17So yeah, it's kind of like a little exploit, you can get a technically better phone for
04:20less money.
04:21And well, the only real downside of the S10 is that it doesn't have 120 hertz like the
04:26newer models, so you can't really have that buttery smooth fluid experience when you're
04:31scrolling through an app.
04:32But I don't think this is such a big deal considering the price and considering that
04:36the latest iPhone 15 doesn't have 120 hertz either and people don't really care, people
04:42don't even notice.
04:43So yeah, if you're a normal user, I wouldn't worry about this because most likely you're
04:46not going to notice anyways.
04:48But anyways, it's time to talk about the most important component on the Galaxy S10, which
04:53yes, is the camera.
04:55As you can see, I'm recording right now with the main sensor on the S10 and it is very
05:01impressive.
05:02In a lot of ways, it looks very similar to the latest phone, to the S24, it has a lot
05:07of detail, there's a lot of dynamic range, colors are great.
05:11The only main difference between this camera and the camera on the latest models is that
05:15it has a slightly smaller sensor.
05:17But besides that, I mean, it's crazy identical in all those other aspects.
05:24More specifically, we get three cameras on the back of the S10.
05:28We get a main sensor with 12 megapixels, which is the one you're looking at right now.
05:32We get a zoom camera with 2x telephoto and also 12 megapixels.
05:37And then we get a 16 megapixel ultrawide camera.
05:40As always, I'm going to leave you with another minute of photos from all of these cameras
05:45zooming in so you can see the little details.
05:47And then I'll come back to give you my conclusions and talk about the selfie camera.
06:55Okay, well, those were all of the cameras.
07:05I have to say my friends, in my humble opinion, especially the main camera is incredibly impressive.
07:12The colors, the dynamic range, the detail.
07:14I mean, sure, we've evolved from the S10 to the S24.
07:19But I think it's mainly based on the size of the sensor.
07:22In every other aspect, I mean, I don't want to say it's the same, but it is very close to the same.
07:28So if you were worried about the S10 not having good enough quality, it's good.
07:33It's pretty good.
07:34I mean, and that also applies to the selfie camera, which as you can see is the one that I'm using right now.
07:38And that is also very good.
07:40Surprisingly good for a tiny sensor that usually that's what we get on selfie cameras.
07:46It has a ton of dynamic range, maybe not as much detail as the main sensor, but we get pretty good colors.
07:51It also works very well.
07:53It adapts to lighting in a very fast and smooth manner.
07:57So yeah, I mean, very solid set of cameras on the S10.
08:01If you were worried, don't be.
08:03They are very good, especially considering the price.
08:05So conclusion, is the Galaxy S10 worth it in 2024?
08:12Well, yes, it is very worth it.
08:14I mean, it is a very, very cheap phone and it offers better features than similarly priced mid to low end phones.
08:23So yes, it is a very good phone.
08:26And as I said, it has a beautiful price on Amazon right now.
08:29Link in the description.
08:30Now that the video is finished, it is a perfect time, a perfect time to click the link.
