00:33Contiveros also presented news articles to confirm that Wang was Xie Zhijiang's cellmate in Thailand.
00:39In the Zoom interview, Wang says that Xie Zhijiang entrusted him with his declassified
00:45file matters after he was released from prison.
00:48He was then asked how he came to the conclusion that Alice Goh is a spy.
00:52Wang responds,
00:57Wang was also asked if he knew information about the assignment of Goh as a Chinese spy,
01:15but Wang says it is better to direct these kinds of questions to Xie Zhijiang himself.
01:20Wang was likewise questioned if he's aware how Goh became a spy, to which he recounted
01:25the process earlier told to him by Xie Zhijiang when they were still in prison.
01:55Contiveros' office likewise pressed Wang to disclose whether Goh was planted in the Philippines
02:00as a spy when she was still a child, or was only tapped to work for the Chinese government
02:05when she first became a mayor of Bamban.
02:08Wang says Goh's campaign was arranged by Chinese state security.
02:12Prior to showing the Zoom interview, Contiveros says her office tried to request for an interview
02:17with Xie Zhijiang through the Philippine embassy in Thailand, but it was not granted due to
02:22diplomatic reasons.
02:23Goh has been the subject of scrutiny after the Senate panel on women bared her ties to
02:28illegal pogo firm Zunyuan Technology Inc.
02:32Questions about her citizenship were also raised, leading to allegations that she is
02:36a Chinese spy, but Goh denied these allegations.
02:39However, the National Bureau of Investigation previously confirmed that she and Chinese
02:44national Guo Huaping are one.
