00:00Hello and welcome to Emma and the Pillar of Hope.
00:04Now what I'm going to do over here, I'm going to import my Kanada files.
00:09So the first one, yeah.
00:12Bring in the Pillar of Hope.
00:14I'll make it here.
00:15It's commonly not too bad.
00:17I'll make the geometry, it's pretty low on here.
00:19So we'll go in here.
00:21I can show you the geometry.
00:22Pretty low.
00:24Not too badly made.
00:25I'll make it OK.
00:27Now what I want to do is go back into object mode.
00:30I want to click on the glass.
00:32I want to open this.
00:33I want to open this.
00:34I want to drag this over.
00:36I want to open this part so I can see this.
00:38Left click that.
00:40Open that.
00:41Cue Netflix opens it.
00:43If it doesn't open, for any reason, click that.
00:46Click the shield.
00:47Press on here.
00:48Base colour.
00:49Press alpha.
00:51Change 1 to 0.
00:55And we're going to go 1, 2, 3.
00:58We want to make some glass for the actual thing.
01:01So press OK.
01:03Scroll to the bottom.
01:04Go to view.
01:06Now the view is what you're looking at.
01:08So what you want to do is grab the roughness.
01:11Left click, hold, drag it so it turns off.
01:14Go here.
01:15Go alpha.
01:16Again.
01:17Type 0.
01:19Dig it so you can see.
01:21Go here.
01:22Go 1, 2, 3.
01:24Press OK.
01:25As soon as you press the grey bar, it will go into glass.
01:28Something like that.
01:30It's like the transparency of water, basically.
01:32Something like that.
01:34Not exactly water, but it's not far off it.
01:37I think it's pretty great.
01:39You can see the shine on it.
01:41Do you see the sun in the sky?
01:43No you can't.
01:44It's the light inside Blender.
01:46I think in any way, you get the idea.
01:48Now, what would look great with that is if we could bring our character in, just for scale.
01:53So we can see how big the actual thing is.
01:56So let's go import.
01:58Let's try this one.
02:00I think this is the character.
02:03No, that's not the character.
02:05So undo that.
02:07Go back to here.
02:08Import.
02:09Character.
02:10This is the character.
02:15There's Emma.
02:18And Emma is now actually in the glass cabinet.
02:22Emma, you look absolutely great in there.
02:25So here she is.
02:26So this is Emma, age 12.
02:28If you want her, you can download her.
02:30In the game world, obviously, everything's scaled to Emma, which is age 1.
02:35Here she's age 12.
02:37She wouldn't be in the cabinet at age 12.
02:39So, well, maybe she would be, or who knows.
02:42So anyway, I'll call it the Pillar of Hope.
02:46That's what I'll call it.
02:49Not for any particular reason.
02:50I just thought, well, what can I actually call it?
02:53Now, of course, I'm going to have the character animating herself inside the cabinet.
02:58So when it's inside the game world, she might be performing some kind of action, like jumping, crawling, or maybe dancing, maybe.
03:06So who knows.
03:07It's just a bit of entertainment for the game world.
03:09So as you're going through the world, when Emma's little and she's walking around the game world, every now and then she's going to see different pictures,
03:17different monuments of herself as she progresses through the level.
03:20And, of course, as she grows up and grows up, the characters will change and change.
03:25Anyway, you get the idea.
03:27So she'll kind of get to see a little glimpse of herself in the future, basically.
03:33A bit kind of strange, a bit kind of weird.
03:35But it's not really for the character so the character can see her.
03:39It's so you can see what the next character's going to look like if you manage to achieve the level.
03:46If you get that far.
03:47But as I said, I do show the actual model from the absolute beginning, just in case you're wondering.
03:54So they're called video logs.
03:56That's what they are.
03:57The video logs are all about, I talk about the actual blender itself.
04:01I also talk, if you click on an object, let's say here, and then you go into here.
04:06So what I want to talk about is basically these three tools here, which are the main three tools in Blender.
04:12And I talk about these tools here, which are absolutely great.
04:15So really, apart from these three here, these three here.
04:18If you pull this up down here.
04:20And this part is for your animation.
04:23That's basically, at the moment, all you need to learn.
04:26At the moment, of course, later on, you need to learn.
04:30Inside Dose Sheet, there's an action editor.
04:32That's where you add more actions to your character.
04:35Again, of course, you put them all together down here in the non-linear.
04:39I will be covering all of these later on, but not at the moment.
04:43So if you want to learn about all that, keep watching the videos.
04:46I will teach you everything step by step as I go along.
04:49As I said, this is the model.
04:51So if you want it, you can download it.
04:53It's on the video.
04:54Of course, I'm only going to give you the model.
04:57Emma herself, from age 1 and age 12, Dose Sheet is available.
05:01If you click on the Emma videos and look under the video, you'll see the link for Emma.
05:05Underneath this video is the link for this pillar.
05:08So if you want the pillar, you can download it.
05:10As I said, depending on the lighting situation, it will depend on how the pillar looks.
05:15If you look into this view, you can't really see the glass.
05:18You can see the glass if I change my render settings here.
05:22Because, obviously, you need to change the render settings here.
05:25You see how that looks.
05:26You need a bench, a belt of sea, everything together.
05:31So, as I said, it all depends on the lighting going on here.
05:34Let's try this setting.
05:36As I said, it all depends on the render settings you've got.
05:39And, obviously, because I'm recording from the screen, I don't want to stress the computer.
05:42So, we can go to cycles.
05:44So, digit cycles.
05:46So, we can do cycles if we want.
05:48So, obviously, as you move, it's kind of gloomy at the same time.
05:51And, yeah, it's not really too good for me.
05:54Because my graphic card ain't really all that great.
05:56So, go here.
05:57As I said, I like to keep my geometry as low as possible.
06:00So, just so my graphic card can cover me.
06:02Anyway, this is just a small video.
06:04So, as usual, thumbs up, thumbs down, subscribe, don't subscribe.
06:07Thanks very much for watching my video.
06:09Thank you very much to all my subscribers.
