00:00Ole Miss on the road against South Carolina.
00:07Both of these teams have played Kentucky.
00:09South Carolina hammered the Cats in Lexington.
00:13The Red and Rebs lost to the Cats at home in the Grove in Oxford.
00:18This to me, Joe, one of the more compelling stories of this Saturday is Ole Miss in Aberration.
00:25Week scheduled to start.
00:26Got beat by an SEC foe.
00:28They will never see the ceiling this year under Lane Kiffin.
00:33Or are the Rebels a true conference contender, or at least a CFP outlook still up for grabs
00:40for this Ole Miss team?
00:42They're a nine and a half point favorite today in Columbia against South Carolina.
00:46The Gamecocks coming off a bye.
00:48South Carolina an underdog once again in SEC play for their third consecutive game to open
00:54up conference action.
00:55They're a perfect 2-0 against the spread with an outright victory as a dog as well.
01:00How do you see this game playing out today at Williams-Brice?
01:03I think it's a bounce back spot for Ole Miss.
01:06Again, big picture, I still think Ole Miss from an offensive perspective can make some
01:10noise in the SEC.
01:12And I still think they have an outside chance to make the college football playoff.
01:16But again, defense needs to get much more physical and much better in run support.
01:20You saw Kentucky push them around.
01:23You can make the argument maybe Kentucky a little bit better than what we expected going
01:28toe-to-toe in the trenches with Georgia and Ole Miss, respectively.
01:31But again, I think this is Jackson Dart just going up against, in my opinion, still a handcuffed
01:36offense in South Carolina.
01:38I know they got Rocket Sanders.
01:40I know they can run it.
01:41But I just think the speed of Ole Miss is the difference.
01:44Lay in nine and a half.
01:46I think they win this ballgame fairly comfortable.
01:49I know they stepped up against LSU at home.
01:52I think that LSU, Ole Miss dominates by double digits.
01:56So I'm fascinated today to see how, if Tiffin perceived the loss to Kentucky, similar to
02:04me, where he ran the ball a little too much.
02:08Because Henry Parrish is questionable heading into this game and averaged around four yards
02:13per carry against, or 4.8 yards, which is not bad.
02:17But Dart was still nearly 10 yards per pass attempt and that was the worst game he's had
02:21in that category.
02:22And again, the Kentucky defense is very good.
02:23The fact that Dart was still around 10, the fact that they had 27 pass attempts, I know
02:28that 29 is a little misleading because Dart has 13 of those, four of those are sacks.
02:32But still, I wonder if today they go into South Carolina and say, you know what, Jackson?
02:39Rip it.
02:40And let it fly.
02:41His number is 284 and a half.
02:43I'm looking at 400 plus passing yards at 10 to 1.
02:46Let's not forget how Jackson's start started this year.
02:49418, 377, 377, and 382.
02:53And those first four games, he didn't really need to throw in any of them.
02:57If South Carolina can trade, whose offense has played well so far this season, and Dart
03:02throws the ball 40 times for the first time this season, I think you can cash a really
03:08big ticket.
03:09They slightly outgained Kentucky last week in the catch of the worst offense in the SEC.
03:14Still the best total offense in the country is Ole Miss at better than 607 yards per game
03:20in the best rushing defense.
03:22Quarterback questions for the Cocks after the bye isn't Lenora Sellers.
03:25The talented freshman, promising but still listed as questionable according to Shane
03:30Beamer in their last game against Akron.
03:33Robbie Ashford was great, 243 through the air, two passing touchdowns, a buck 33 on
03:38the ground, and a score as well.
