00:00Welcome back to the comment section. I'm Brett Cooper.
00:02So guys, today we have to talk about a beloved social media and reality TV figure who has been
00:08exposed. I'm not sure if you guys know who this individual is. If you have not, buckle up. Get
00:12ready because I'm about to tell you. So this is a figure that the left has propped up as a beacon
00:17of love and light and acceptance and progressivism.
00:20Light and love.
00:21And their name is Jonathan Van Ness,
00:24aka the fashion guru, the stylist from Queer Eye. If you don't know what Queer Eye is,
00:28it is Netflix's modern take on the old show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy that
00:31premiered in the late 90s, early 2000s. And the premises of both show are basically the same.
00:35It's a group of fashionable, loving, stylish gay men who come to help a straight man get his life
00:39together. They help him eat better, dress better, style his home better, get out into the dating
00:43world, whatever. And I'll be honest, I was obsessed with the first season of the Netflix show. I
00:48thought it was so cute. It was genuinely like very pure and wholesome. It seemed like they helped a
00:52lot of people just get out of their shell, feel more comfortable in their skin. It was very,
00:55very sweet. Didn't have a problem with it. But then the show and this group of men started to
01:00become a token and figurehead for the left's very gay and political agenda. And then I was out.
01:04And now that I know how terribly Jonathan Van Ness, one of the stars, apparently treats people,
01:08I'm appalled that I ever watched it. But I can't say that I'm surprised. And if you're thinking
01:12that that name, Jonathan Van Ness, is familiar, it's because this is the person who got into a
01:16crying and yelling match with podcast host, Dax Shepard, when he pushed back on trans ideology.
01:21Don't worry, we'll touch on that too. Before we do though, make sure that you like this video,
01:24subscribe to the channel if you've not already, and then ring that notification bell so that you
01:27never miss a comment section episode. All right, so all of this tea, all of this information came
01:31out in a Rolling Stone exclusive article that was published yesterday. Before we dive in,
01:34I think there are two pieces of context that you need to know if you are not a fan of reality TV,
01:38if you don't watch Queer Eye. These are the basics. Now, first of all, last year,
01:41one of the other stars of Queer Eye abruptly left the cast, one of the five guys. And up until this
01:46point, all of the fans, all the audience members thought that this was one big, happy, tight-knit,
01:50best friend family. So rumors immediately started going around about the dynamic on
01:53the show. Are they not actually friends? What's going on? There is some tea there.
01:57Now, secondly, if you've not been exposed to Jonathan Van Ness in the past, you need to see
02:01how he is presented online and how much people adore, adore Jonathan. We're just going to watch
02:07one of his TikToks. You're a hot slut who takes things one day at a time. You're going to do great
02:13today and this week. And those videos are very normal. He does affirmations. Yes, you are a
02:22hot slut. Oh my God, you are amazing. Boss bitch. Work. You can do this. And it's all like uplifting,
02:28positivity. Yay, yay, yay. He's always trying new things. He became like a figure skater in the last
02:32few years and is also doing gymnastics. So you'll just see like Jonathan flipping across your For
02:37You page and everybody in the comments is like, oh my gosh, yes, you're inspiring me to try new
02:40things. You're so amazing. People just eat it up. They eat up the sass and positivity. One person
02:45said you brighten so many people's days. Another person said literally one of my favorite
02:48celebrities. Somebody else said you are an inspiration and a beacon to many. Let that
02:52light shine. Well, folks, you've been duped. It really isn't that hard to figure out, unlike

04:01checkout. It is really simple. Kind of like how it's simple that Jonathan Van Ness is not a nice
04:05person. Now I will let Rolling Stone and the people close to Jonathan explain more about this.
04:09So the article's headline is, They Play Nice Inside the Tensions and Tumult at Queer Eye.
04:14Queer Eye has a new member after Bobby Burke's departure, that's the guy who left, as sources
04:17claim long-standing tension among the group and alleged rage issues with star Jonathan Van Ness.
04:22Now towards the beginning of the article, they describe the show, the history, and that one cast
04:26member's departure, Bobby, and then they get into Jonathan, which is really the crux of the entire
04:32issue. They write, four Queer Eye production sources and three sources who worked with Van Ness
04:36said the reality star was terrible to work with, using words like monster, nightmare, demeaning to
04:40describe them. Three people labeled Van Ness as emotionally abusive and having rage issues,
04:45and all seven sources said that the star would lash out at crew members and people who worked
04:48closely with Van Ness, and they did not stop there. Quote, there is a real emotion of fear around them
04:52when they get angry. Jonathan Van Ness uses basically every pronoun, so in Rolling Stone
04:55they are using they, but I believe he uses he, she, they, whatever. So that's just the context here.
05:00It is almost like a cartoon where it oozes out of them. It is intense and scary. During filming,
05:05one production source estimated that Van Ness would explode at least once a week. Quote, he was
05:08a yeller. Guys, intense and scary. Emotionally abusive. Again, this is the person whose entire
05:15brand, six million followers on Instagram, is built on love and light and acceptance, and yes queens,
05:21I'm here to lift you up, slay slut. That is the brand. Intense, emotionally abusive. It's all a
05:26charade, is what the sources said. Quote, Jonathan's a person who contains multitudes, who has the
05:30capacity to be very warm, very charismatic, and has the capacity to make you feel really special
05:35when they are paying attention to you, but at least once a day they would need to yell at somebody.
05:38It might be something small, but there is always going to be somebody to point out and blame and
05:41make the villain of the day. I mean, come on, guys. Love and tolerance, am I right? Now, unsurprisingly,
05:47this behavior caused a lot of tension on the show, and that tension apparently led to the other cast
05:51member, Bobby, randomly leaving the show very abruptly. I'm done. And this was when Queer Eye
05:54was still on the up and up. Like, they're not falling off, they had a lot of things planned, and he was
05:58just like, no, I'm out, don't want to deal with you guys anymore. And at this point, according to these
06:01sources, only two of the cast members are actually friends, and neither of them are friends with
06:06Jonathan. Now, obviously, this exclusive Rolling Stone piece immediately went viral, and people
06:10online are talking, but no one really seems shocked. One person on Twitter commented and said that
06:15pretty much describes every trans activist I've ever known. Somebody else said, least surprising
06:18news. Another person said, Jonathan Van Ness always gave me viscerally mean gay energy, so I'm not
06:23surprised by these allegations at all. Another person said, is anyone surprised that Jonathan Van Ness
06:26is allegedly a monster? People who are that performative are usually overcompensating for
06:31something. That's an important comment. That's just an important life lesson for everybody. Now, obviously,
06:35because he has tons of fans, some people are still very bought in. One commenter on Instagram said,
06:39this is BS Van Ness. JVN is a magical human who radiates positivity and happiness, and whoever said
06:45this about him is clearly miserable and just trying to dim his light. Sadly, it's the price those pay
06:49who work in that business, but stay strong, Jonathan, and keep shining. There are seven sources
06:56calling him emotionally abusive, and you think, oh my god, yes, let that light shine. That is your
07:00first thought. No, please come back down to earth. And also, people, you should have seen this coming.
07:04This is not the first time we have heard these rumors. This is not the first time we've seen
07:07hints of this, even from just an audience point of view. I mean, JVN posted this on his Instagram
07:12because one person supported Republicans in his comment section.
07:15I voted, uh, post. This guy commented that about, uh, Let's Go Reds, and then these five people
07:22liked it. Then that idiot commented that. So I blocked all of them. I blocked every f***ing one.
07:28And I hope your f***ing idiot cousin texts you that you're a dumb b***h.
07:36Can you imagine being a f***ing idiot man and commenting this?
07:40I hate you. This is mild. And I hope you get fisted.
07:44And not just, like, normal fisted, because some people like that. Like,
07:47I want you to get fisted with, like, a handful of f***ing sand. You know what I'm saying?
07:51Ouchie. Discomfort for your butthole. Because if you're gonna force women to carry a f***ing child,
07:58if you're gonna force somebody to carry a f***ing child,
08:02if you're gonna force birth on people, but you don't want to help pay for their
08:05healthcare, their education, their food, nothing, then you deserve to get fisted with sand.
08:13You deserve to be uncomfortable.
08:15Now, all of that was just because a random person left a comment on his post. Again,
08:21this person has six million followers. But that little comment triggered him,
08:26because somebody has a different opinion than Jonathan does. Like, that is unhinged behavior.
08:31But again, not surprising. Another example is when Jonathan Van Ness went on Armchair Expert
08:34with Dax Shepard back in the fall. Dax and his co-host basically agreed with everything that
08:38Jonathan Van Ness said during the entire interview. But because at one point in the
08:43interview, Dax defended conservatives and pushed back against Jonathan Van Ness' assertion that
08:47we are all dumb and uneducated, and Dax said, no, they just have different values, Jonathan Van Ness
08:52had a full meltdown. And then they got on the trans issue, and Dax shared some very common-sense
08:57thoughts and asked some common-sense questions. Again, Dax is a liberal. This is coming from a
09:01liberal. Jonathan lost his mind even more. I could just, like, cry because I'm, like, so
09:05tired of having to, like, fight for little kids because they just want to be included.
09:12I wish that people were as passionate about little kids being able to, like, be included
09:17or grow up as they were about fictitious women's fairness in sports. I have to tell you, I am very
09:24tired. I mean, this person is completely driven and fueled by his emotions. It is almost unhinged
09:29at this point. But if you watch Queer Eye, if you pay attention to social media, reality TV,
09:33you probably already knew this because there were signs we've known. So it's not surprising
09:37that this very emotional individual has anger problems and will lash out. We have seen it
09:41before. And per usual, guys, the love and tolerance and the kindness, it is a mask.
09:46It is a charade, like all those sources said. Most of those people do not believe in any of that
09:51when push comes to shove. Do not let them dupe you. Well, guys, I hope you liked this episode.
