00:00This sector, the creed of the sector, has a right to be in the public interest,
00:06which is the sheep's clothing, further down the line.
00:09When this statement was written, there was a certainty in the long term
00:14of the sheep's clothing centres.
00:16Things have changed further, and the body, the Natural History of Wales,
00:21is looking to improve the sheep's clothing centres,
00:25not just the money, the sheep's clothing centres especially,
00:28with the village and the city,
00:30in order to make an investment of £1.2 million this financial year.
00:37Although you look at the sheep's clothing centres of the Natural History of Wales,
00:42the truth is that the sheep's clothing centres will have a negative effect
00:47on this area, as well as on sheep's clothing,
00:50and will affect the work of keeping sheep's clothing as well.
00:54Although we know what is the financial value of sheep's clothing down the line,
00:58for the Welsh economy, an assessment has been made
01:01of the financial value of these centres for the central part of Wales,
01:05and they account for around £67 million for the region's economy.
01:10I understand that the Natural History of Wales is of crucial financial importance,
01:14but local, provisional and local groups are ready to work with the body
01:19in order to take these decisions forward.
01:21The truth is that a very short period of time has been allocated
01:24for the Natural History of Wales,
01:26and the staff of these centres will be doing their job
01:30for a month or so.
01:32Once this happens, and the centres are closed,
01:35it will be difficult to reopen the centres,
01:38and therefore, of course, time is short.
01:41If we are to avoid this pearl that attracts a large number of people
01:44and ensures that they continue to contribute billions of pounds
01:48to the Welsh economy,
01:50that is something that the Government must do.
01:54The solution that you have, Cabinet Secretary,
01:57is for you and the Government to give the £1.2 million
02:01that is needed here to the Natural History of Wales
02:04in order to open the centres for this year,
02:07and to give companies time to plan their business
02:11and to be part of the tender process
02:15without the centres being closed.
02:18I am sure that you will agree that it is a very short period of time
02:21that will be needed in order to take these important decisions.
