00:00Hi there, I hope you are making the most of the fine weather we've currently got because
00:06low pressure arrives during the weekend. Although it does take its time, at first the influence
00:12of this area of high pressure clings on particularly towards the east, whilst the lows to the west
00:18slowly gather pace and bring weather fronts into western parts as we start off Saturday.
00:25Mostly it's Scotland, especially western Scotland and western parts of Northern Ireland where
00:29we'll see outbreaks of rain first thing, a strengthening wind. For much of England and
00:33Wales, perhaps eastern Scotland a bright start to the day, another chilly start in the east
00:37but a fine day follows for many with just a strengthening breeze through the day and
00:44thickening cloud. Otherwise largely dry with some glimmers of sunshine remaining into the
00:49afternoon at highs of 17 Celsius but by evening the rain is starting to push into the southwest
00:54and it's already becoming more persistent across Northern Ireland and western Scotland
00:58as the weather fronts from the Atlantic begin to move in. And those weather fronts will
01:03bring a spell of very wet weather and increasingly windy weather across the country during Saturday
01:09night. The heaviest rain will be across the southwest and Wales on Saturday night along
01:13with gales around exposed coasts but by Sunday, well, the initial band moves away, weakening
01:19as it does. It stays wet across the Northern Isles and very windy. Another band of rain
01:24then moves into Wales in the southwest during Sunday, some heavy downpours associated with
01:29this. Otherwise brighter skies into the far west but with a number of showers and it's
01:35going to turn a bit less windy for a time. That showery theme stays with us as we start
01:40next week before further lows arrive later with more wet and windy weather to come.
