Consultant Anaesthetist Ewan Jack at Forth Valley Royal Hospital is trying to set a half marathon world record wearing full Highland dress.
Ewan will attempt the world record at the Great Scottish Run this weekend in Glasgow. He's also running to raise awareness for MND hoping to raise some money for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation in memory of his brother Alex and The Brain Tumour Charity as a colleague has been recently diagnosed with a brain tumour.

00:00Good morning folks, my name's Ewan Jack, I'm a consultant anaesthetist and clinical
00:04oedipal theatres here at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. On Sunday 6th of October
00:08I'm going to attempt something a little bit daft. The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run
00:13Glasgow Half Marathon is happening and I'm planning to run it to break the
00:17Guinness World Record for the fastest half marathon dressed in full Highland
00:20gear. As you can see the rigmarole is pretty hard with a full waistcoat,
00:24cotton shirt, bow tie, jacket, the obvious kilt. Many of you will notice that the
00:29kilt is of Dodie Aide Tartan and I'm running partly to raise funds for Dodie Aide
00:33who raises funds for care and research into motor neurone disease. Also one of
00:38our colleagues has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour so with
00:41his permission I'm also trying to raise some money and awareness for the brain
00:44tumour charity.
