00:00Naima Khalid, wife of former Finance Minister Daim Zainuddin, has filed a police report

00:07over a Bloomberg article about the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's investigations

00:12into her husband's affairs.

00:14Bloomberg citing sources reported that MACC Chief Azam Bakki told officials the orders

00:19to investigate Daim, former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his sons, came directly

00:24from Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

00:26Naima said the report showed the charges against Daim and her were part of a conspiracy to

00:31target Anwar's political opponents by subverting the institutions of state and enforcement

00:36bodies.

00:37Calling for justice, Naima also called for a criminal investigation into abuse of power,

00:43conspiracy and criminal conduct by Anwar.

00:46Earlier this year, Daim claimed trial to a charge under Section 36 Sub 2 of the MACC

00:51Act 2009 of failing to comply with the terms of an asset declaration notice.

00:56Naima was accused under the same provision of failing to declare her ownership of various

01:00companies, several plots of land and two vehicles.

01:04Both the Prime Minister's Office and MACC have denied the claims made in the Bloomberg report.
