00:00Iran sees the network of armed groups it has formed across the Middle East as the axis
00:05of resistance.
00:07This was the statement of Iran's supreme leader read out on television after Hassan Nasrallah
00:13was killed.
00:16The fate of this region will be decided by the resistance forces with Hezbollah at their
00:21head.
00:24Iran's enemies see these proxies as a threatening alliance.
00:29And Iran's way of confronting them indirectly.
00:33Not just Israel and the United States, but also its rivals in the region.
00:38The most powerful group in the axis remains Hezbollah.
00:43Its militants carried out terrorist attacks on US and French forces in the past.
00:49In recent years, it has focused on fighting Israel and on backing President Bashar al-Assad,
00:55another Iran ally, during the war in Syria.
00:59In Gaza, the axis comprises of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad.
01:04In Iraq, pro-Iranian Islamic resistance militias have joined the axis.
01:10And in Yemen, the Houthi militia.
01:13Since October 7th, those groups have all tried to hit the Israeli territory.
01:19The Houthis also targeted cargo ships in the Red Sea, a key route for international commerce.
01:25Six pro-Iran militants struck a US military base early this year.
01:31Those are the groups Iran's leader has called to escalate their fighting with Israel.
01:36And although most of their attacks have been intercepted, Iran has provided them with a
01:41vast arsenal of missiles, which they haven't used to their full capacities.
